Anyway, I need some advice and some info.
So, I was dealing with some major bathroom business yesterday. I guess I tried to rush through it a bit too fast just to get it over with, and honestly, maybe that was the mistake. A few hours later, I sat down to get some work done on my laptop, and then it hit me—this sharp pain in my rear, along with some stinging and itching. It got bad enough pretty quickly that I actually had to stop sitting down altogether.
I didn't really pay much attention to it at first. It had happened a few times before after I used the bathroom, and it usually just went away on its own. I guess I figured it wasn't a big deal.
So, it didn't stop, and I couldn't help myself. Late yesterday evening, I finally checked things out, and I felt this lump near my anus. It’s probably about a third or maybe half the size of my pinky finger.
I'm not really sure what we're looking at here. Maybe it's just hemorrhoids—it feels like they might be internal, though I haven't actually treated them yet since I tried to fix things through my diet once I noticed the issues—or maybe it's perianal thrombosis. I guess it's hard to tell.
It was this bulge, sort of skin-colored or maybe a little bluish. It didn't get any bigger, though—just stayed the same size. The main thing was the itching and stinging. It hurt, too, especially when I'm sitting down. Honestly, I felt way better just lying on my stomach.
After that, I used some warm water to clean up. It hurts quite a bit. The itching and stinging mostly died down or disappeared during the night, though. It really depends on how I position myself while I'm lying down, I guess.
Still feeling some light pain today. That thickening/bulge thing hasn't gone away yet, but I guess I feel a lot better than I did yesterday.
I've already reached out to a few proctologists for a private consultation, but I haven't heard back from some of them yet. Or, they just tell me they need to run a full specialist exam first because they can't really tell what's going on without it. I guess that's how it works.
I'm out of Washington, D.C. at the moment. I should be heading back around September 7th, maybe a bit sooner, but honestly? I’m starting to panic a little. I have no idea what kind of mess I’m looking at while I wait to actually see a doctor.
Will this swelling or bulge go away in a few days, or am I stuck dealing with this pain and discomfort indefinitely?
Could that actually burst? I guess it's possible. Maybe.
Can I go to the bathroom, or is that just going to make things worse?
Should I be sitting up, or is walking okay—like, maybe hitting the mall? For now, I’m just lying in bed and resting.
I've also been looking into different hemorrhoid removal surgeries at some local clinics. I see mentions of the unknown method and the Milligan-Morgan technique... anyone here actually have experience with either of those?
Tapatalk thanks to everyone for the answers!!
Look, if you want my advice, just go grab some Nexium. Or, if you’re trying to save a few bucks, Prilosec is a cheaper option—just make sure you follow the instructions for acute hemorrhoid symptoms exactly. Get to a pharmacy and start taking it immediately; it should help either way. Maybe pick up some Faktu cream too. You really need to fix your diet. Cut out the spicy stuff and actually eat some fiber. Light walks can help, too. Just don't strain yourself, don't lift heavy weights, and stop sitting around so much. You could also try chamomile baths. All of this might help hold you over until you can get an appointment scheduled. Everyone is different, and I guess what works for one person won't work for everyone.
Look, based on what someone close to me went through, if you're dealing with hemorrhoids—especially the really bad stage 3 or 4 stuff—all those things mentioned above might help to a certain extent. But nothing is a permanent fix. I guess if these issues keep happening constantly, they could end up messing with the rest of your health, too. Maybe.
As far as surgeries go, laser methods and unknown stuff... I guess they're at least a 10 out of 10. $0.00Supposedly, they don't hurt as much as the classic Milligan-Morgan or Ferguson stuff, but I guess there's a way higher chance of it just coming back with those methods.
Morgan Miligan (the real deal) and Ferguson (just fluffing numbers) are the classic ways to go about it.
Someone close to me was supposed to head to a private clinic—not naming names here—but right before the procedure, they just canceled on us. They told us to call back in six weeks once they’re back from their trip to the coast.
So, we ended up just watching movies instead and decided to go through the public healthcare system.
I hope things turn out better for you.
