What are your thoughts on the matchup between Feyenoord and Marseille?
Marseille is playing out of their minds lately, whereas Feyenoord is clearly one of those teams that relies heavily on that intense home-field advantage...

Let’s take a crack at this option too—the logic is pretty much the same as what I laid out earlier, just with a little extra seasoning added in.

FC Twente vs. Hannover—both teams to score 3+ goals
Twente—they’ve put up 21 goals over their last five matches (averaging about 4.2 per game), and four of those ended with 3+ goals scored by both sides.
Hannover—they’ve been lighting it up with 34 goals in their last six outings (that’s roughly 5.66 per game), and five of those saw the 3+ goal threshold hit for both teams.

I’m feeling really good about this one—honestly, I might even throw a single bet on it with a higher stake. The odds from the big books are looking decent right now (DraftKings is sitting at @ 1.95, while FanDuel is at @ 1.90), so I’m just sitting tight and waiting for the lines to shift. ☕

Bayer Leverkusen vs. Metalist—both teams to score 3+ goals
Bayer—looking at their last seven games, six of them went over, including three where both sides hit the 3+ mark.
Metalist—in their last six matches, five went over, with three of those seeing both teams score 3+ goals.

Since it’s just the opening round and we aren't dealing with the high-stakes intensity of the Champions League yet, I’m expecting a lot of open, attacking play across most of these matchups—especially in these two. 🙂

Marseille is looking pretty sharp right now—though you have to admit, Fenerbahçe is a total beast when they're playing at home.

It feels like a textbook example of a game to skip.😉

I honestly don't get why anyone would pick such a toss-up match when there are so many better options out there.🤷

Round two, let’s go. Here’s the lineup:

Twente vs. Hannover: Over 1.5 goals & Udinese vs. Anzhi: Both teams to score — yes
Atletico Madrid: Double chance X2
Athletic Bilbao: Home win
Inter Milan: Double chance 1X
Lyon: Home win

That makes six picks total. Which ones should I keep, and which ones are worth cutting?😕 🤷

Twente vs. Hannover 69 & Udinese vs. Anzhi — both teams to score — yes
Atletico Madrid x2
Athletic Bilbao 1
Inter 1x
Lyon 1

Here are my 6 picks—what should I keep, and what's a total long shot? 😕 🤷

Please stick to the rules when you comment on these picks.

It’s totally predictable—especially since the Lakers have that massive home derby against the Celtics this Saturday. If I were them, I’d be doing the exact same thing. It’s easily the biggest matchup for the Lakers to kick off the season. Personally, I wouldn't touch any bets today because everyone is just spinning their wheels dealing with lineup changes, bench rotations, and whatever else... basically, it's a mess. The only play that actually makes sense according to my buddy is:

Napoli 1.

and they're showing up with a pretty banged-up roster too—Cavani and Hamsik are almost certainly out, along with a few other key players who actually matter.

Dnipro-PSV dnb 1 2,10 - 1 2,90
Dnipro hasn't tasted defeat all season—honestly, they’ve been scoring more and conceding way less than Dynamo Kyiv...
With the way they're playing this year, I feel like they could actually make a deep run in Europe because this roster is just stacked.
Look at the lineup: Lastuvka, Konoplyanka, Aliyev, Rotan, Giuliano, Seleznyov, Zozulya, Inkoom, Mazuch, Kalinic... seriously, how do you stop that?
Meanwhile, PSV is looking totally inconsistent—I mean, they dropped two games last weekend against a weak Waalwijker and a mediocre Utrecht side.
Dnipro is definitely coming into this one with way more momentum and better form, so in my book, they're much closer to pulling off the win.
Teams from the East always play with more heart in these matchups, plus Dnipro is on a massive roll right now with great vibes in the locker room...
On the other side, PSV is going to be missing Pieters and Boume, and Mertens is stuck on the bench because his form has been absolute garbage lately.
Van Bommel will probably start since he's suspended and can't suit up this Sunday against Feyenoord.
I really think the home side has a golden opportunity here to grab a victory—they don't even have a league match this weekend, just some easy cup game away at Yalta, while PSV has a huge high-stakes match against Feyenoord... plus, you can't underestimate that brutal long-haul trip out east to Ukraine.

I’m going to try this approach for my first slip today, a quick double:

Dnipro Dnipro-PSV Over 1.5 goals @ SS
We’ve got two teams here that live and breathe attacking football, so my gut says both sides will find the back of the net at least once. The Ukrainians are playing quite well in their domestic league lately; they’ve got Juande Ramos pulling the strings on the bench, a young talent like Konoplyanka, and some high-quality Brazilian flair with guys like Giuliano and Matheus, plus our own Kalinic and Strinic. They definitely have the firepower, even if their defense leaves them a bit exposed. It’s the exact same story with PSV—aggressive mindset, shaky backline. On the sportsbook app, I might also look at Over 2.5 or even Over 3.5, but we'll see how it plays out.

Udinese-Anzhi Away Win & Over 2.5 @ SS
Looking at Udinese today, they’re looking pretty thin. Brkic (their starting keeper), Basta (a massive presence on the right flank), and Benatia (crucial to the defense) are all out. There’s also a good chance Di Natale stays on the bench to save his legs for the next MLS match, meaning Ranegie—that striker they grabbed from Malmo—will likely start. Honestly, he isn't nearly up to the task, and if Muriel weren't sidelined, he'd only be the third option for Guidolin anyway. On the flip side, Anzhi has their full squad available. Guus Hiddink is almost certainly going to lead with Eto'o and Traore up front. For these Russian clubs, the Europa League is everything, so they aren't going to rotate their stars. It seems like a safe bet that the away side takes this one comfortably.

Looking at Udinese today—they won't have Brkic (their starting goalie), Basta(a huge asset on the right wing), and Benatia(a key defender). It’s also pretty likely that Di Natale stays on the bench to rest up for next week's MLS match, meaning Ranegie—that striker from Malmo who isn't quite on that level—will step in. If Muriel wasn't out with an injury, he’d be the third choice for Guidolin. On the flip side, Anzhi has their full squad ready; Hiddink is definitely going to start Eto'o and Traore upfront. The Russians are really pushing for the Europa League, so they aren't resting anyone important. It seems pretty straightforward to me that the over 2 is the way to go here.

Could you please let me know where you're getting this info?
Because if this is actually true, it changes everything...

I’m not sure if you follow Italian news, but check out these sources:
http://www.calciomercato.it/news/176...massiccio.html
It says Di Natalea will be on the roster, but he’ll likely start on the bench. Let's be real—he’s getting up there in age and just can't handle a heavy workload of consecutive games anymore. That said, the coach mentioned he isn't planning any massive shake-ups to the lineup.

http://www.calciomercato.it/news/175...hio-Anzhi.html
According to this, Basta picked up an injury during last week's game against Siena (right quadriceps), and there’s a very slim chance he’ll suit up against Anzhi.

As for Benatia, I'm a bit iffy. A lot of the Italian sites are listing Codu in the starting XI instead of him. It’s basically a coin flip whether he actually plays or not. My apologies for the uncertainty.

It mentions Di Natalea will be on the roster—he's definitely joining the squad—but he'll likely start on the bench since he's getting older and can't handle back-to-back games like he used to. Though, the coach mentioned he isn't planning any massive shakeups to the lineup.

This one says Basta picked up an injury during last week's game against Siena—right quad issue—so there's a slim chance he actually plays against Anzhi.

As for Benatia, I'm a bit unsure—most of the American sports sites are listing Coda in the starting XI instead of him. It’s basically a coin flip whether he suits up or not. Sorry about that.

No need to apologize, it's all good. You explained it clearly.
I was watching the lineups on ESPN. Well, that's just a guess, but usually, when someone is officially banged up, they don't even bother speculating 🙂
Either way, I really don't see Anzhi losing today—a double chance on them seems like a safe bet—and honestly, their win looks pretty tempting given the odds.

What’s the vibe on the matchup between LAFC and Atletico Madrid? Does anyone honestly think Atletico gets upset here? I know they absolutely crushed Chelsea on their own turf, so I'm wondering if we might see a repeat performance since the oddsmakers have them heavily favored. I'm seriously tempted to put my money on an Atletico win just because I watched that Chelsea game—Falcao was looking lethal with those goals he was putting up.🤷

Falcao, Arda, Gabi, Diego Godin, and Filipe Luis are all skipping the trip to Israel.
Tiago’s out too—sitting this one out because of those damn yellow cards.

Well, if that's the case, you should definitely steer clear of this matchup 😁
since half the talent we actually care about isn't even hitting the field.

LA Atlético is looking like they’re right on the edge of another win again—they've got a few absolute weapons in the lineup ready to go.
But man, I gotta wonder... is it even worth touching them at 1.65 or 1.75 odds? 🤷
It just feels way too risky for that kind of return...😕

Morgan Myers2 said:What do you guys think about Hapoel Tel Aviv vs Atletico Madrid? Is there even a remote chance Hapoel pulls off an upset here? I mean, sure, the oddsmakers have Atletico as the heavy favorites, but I can't stop thinking about how they absolutely dismantled Chelsea in that away match. Could we see a repeat of that kind of dominance here? Honestly, I’m really leaning toward picking the "2" on Atletico. After watching them handle Chelsea, I'm sold, especially seeing how dangerous Radamel Falcao looked with those goals he was putting up.🤷

Radamel Falcao ended up staying in Spain...

Maybe consider a double chance bet on Atletico, X2. Honestly, even with all these roster changes, I don't see them dropping this one.

Come on, help me out with some predictions here.

I don't really see the point in taking the x2 on LA Atlético since the payout is pretty pathetic.
Napoli is playing lights out right now, so I’m leaning toward a win there given their recent streak.
As for Stuttgart, they've been looking rough—only one win while everything else has been a draw or a loss. On the other hand, Steaua Bucharest looks much sharper, sitting with three wins, a draw, and just one loss. Honestly, a draw is totally on the table here; this matchup just feels off to me.🤷

This opening match of the UEFA Europa League group stage is actually pretty interesting. On paper, Stuttgart should be the heavy favorites coming from a top-tier league, but let's be real: they're struggling in the Bundesliga and hovering near the relegation zone. Meanwhile, Steaua Bucharest is flying high at the top of their domestic league. Looking at the tournament path, Stuttgart looked solid after cruising through a qualifying round against Dinamo Bucharest, whereas Steaua had a much scarier road, nearly getting knocked out early by Trnava. These two haven't actually crossed paths in European competition before.
