Over the last few days, things have been absolutely unbearable, and I suppose it’s become barely even usable—honestly, it feels even worse than back when we were stuck dealing with dial-up internet speeds.

Quoting someone from another thread:

mistyotter35 said:Try disabling http://ads2.monitor.com in your AdBlock. I use Firefox, so I'm not sure if this applies to other browsers.
Mine was running sluggishly too, until some guy taught us how to fix it one day. It's been fine ever since.

Give this a shot. Might help you out. 🤷

I didn't actually change any of my settings; I simply installed AdBlock+ on Firefox, and the issue seemingly vanished instantly. Now, this forum seems to be loading significantly faster than it ever has before.
I suppose we will just have to wait and see whether this was merely a coincidence, perhaps something related to the server, or if it is truly due to that new Add-on.

Honestly, I ditched AdBlock ages ago just to get rid of those headaches, but now I’m seeing so many people complaining that everything is running incredibly slow—even the folks using Mozilla with AdBlock installed. 🤷

I suppose I haven't really encountered any significant issues regarding the site's loading speed, though I did occasionally run into those annoying 403 or 404 error messages from time to time. However, over the last ten days or so, there was a noticeable decline in performance that seemed to peak during the last forty-eight hours. I guess everything is running smoother than ever now, knock on wood. 😁

My Firefox keeps blocking the install, and then when I try to download it, a warning pops up saying certain software could harm my computer.
Should I just bypass that if I'm trying to get AdBlock?

Does that AdBlock work on Chrome too? I installed it and it feels like things are running smoother already. Is that actually because of the extension, or am I just imagining things?

Should I just ignore the warning if I'm trying to get AdBlock?

Look, I grabbed AdBlock from this site: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/fir.../adblock-plus/. It didn't break anything for me. Once you install it, it just automatically kills ads on other sites too, not just here on the forum.

I hear you, melloworca6, I gave that a shot, but I'll keep an eye out, thanks.
Haven't run into any issues so far.

I'm trying to remember if I ever ran into an error like that when I was installing stuff, but honestly, my memory is failing me right now.

Also, I just hopped on Opera to see how it handles things. On my end, the forums fly through effortlessly.🤷

I suppose Windows is throwing up those warnings about potential malware, but if I were you, I’d just ignore them entirely. It’s highly probable they simply haven't greased the palms of the folks at Microsoft, so the OS is acting a bit skittish.
The forum is still buzzing away; I've been browsing through various threads that I honestly didn't have the energy to touch lately because everything has been running so painfully slow. 😁

Hey, does anyone know if there's an AdBlock option available for Internet Explorer too?

Look: http://simple-adblock.com/. 😁 Seriously, if I end up getting flooded with spam because I'm telling you all to just install an adblocker, I'm going to lose it on you. 🤣

we’re gonna have to move our whole routine to after midnight over here and just crash during the day instead🤣

I’ve got an adblocker running on Chrome, but honestly, it doesn't even matter... everything is still dragging like crazy...

I just finished setting up an adblocker for IE and honestly, everything feels way faster now... Or is it just because I finally got some sleep after being up all night?!
