Can someone help me out here? I’m trying to figure out why my post count doesn't seem to match reality. Here’s the deal: the number shown on my profile is at least ten posts lower than what I know I've actually put out there, maybe even more.
For example, if I drop a few different threads, the system only registers one of them.
Why is that happening?
Is there some kind of glitch going on, or am I being targeted by some weird prank? How could that even be possible..?

So, just a heads-up, posts on certain sub-forums don't actually count toward your total. Like, if you're hanging out in the Offtopic section or those similar areas, they aren't included in the tally. I guess it also works like this: if a thread you participated in gets deleted, your overall post count is gonna drop down too.

Can anyone tell me how I go about becoming a moderator here?
Also, does a mod have control over specific sections of the forum, or do they oversee the whole site?
I was also wondering if there’s any kind of log kept regarding moderator activity.😁

Yeah, I get what you're saying. If my posts were getting wiped, I'd definitely notice—which is why you can see from my history that I'm clearly not one of those users who keeps getting their threads nuked. 🙂 But honestly, I've been playing by the rules and posting everything properly. I haven't been jumping around between random, "fluid" subforums just to pad the numbers.
It’s more likely that I was active in the political discussions, but for some reason, those didn't register. At the end of the day, anyone can just count up my actual contributions and compare that to the current number shown under my avatar.

I'm not entirely sure, but I'm thinking posts on the Politics PDF don't actually count toward the total. Maybe I've got that wrong, though; I guess I should probably check in with the Politics moderators to be certain.

And does a mod have authority over specific sub-forums, or is it the whole site?
Also, I'm curious if anyone actually keeps tabs on how active—or inactive—the mods are being.😁
The admins and mods pick new people when they feel like they need more hands on deck. As for tracking whether the mods are actually doing their jobs... well, the admins supposedly keep an eye on that too. In theory, anyway.

Actually, everything counts; it just looks like there's some kind of technical glitch happening right now.
Since we're on the subject, though, why even bother asking the moderators? Isn't that more of a technical issue?

Just so you guys know, on certain PDFs, the posts don't actually get counted toward a user's total post count on the forum where they're writing.

That online business section is totally falling apart. 😬
That’s why I’m asking. It looks like there aren't any mods over there, or if there are, they've gone MIA. Can we please get someone in there? People are just spamming referral links everywhere and nobody is banning them, deleting threads, or doing anything at all.😢

I’ve noticed some users have these really polished signatures—different colors, custom fonts, and all that—but those styling options seem to be locked for regular members. I’m assuming that kind of customization is reserved for the mods or certain admin levels, but I was wondering who I should actually reach out to if there's a way to get something like that set up?
#272 ·
Just shoot me an inbox message letting me know what kind of signature you’re looking for, and I’ll get it all cleaned up for you. 🙂
#273 ·
Well, nothing to be done about it—just my own mistake and moving too fast. 🙈
I didn't even realize you could adjust the font and size on your own. Thanks anyway. 😁

What does that actually mean, and what is it referring to? Every PDF shows a member count..
Does that indicate how many people are online right now, or is it actually talking about some kind of membership?

That’s just the total number of registered users on that specific subforum.

Does anyone know if there's an official stat on how many users have been banned since this site first launched?
And honestly, aren't permanent bans a bit counterproductive for the platform? If you think about it, losing those users just means less traffic overall...

I was just looking back at some of the veteran members on this forum, specifically those who have been around since 2003 or 2005... they seem to have more than 15 characters in their usernames.
Does anyone know why we don't see handles longer than 15 characters anymore?

And isn't handing out permanent bans a bit overkill for the mods, considering they're basically killing their own traffic and engagement??
What about the temporary ones?

Yeah, even the basic bans..
The rules are way too strict, and honestly, the moderators are just far too quick to pull the trigger...
