I mean, I don't know, they're way faster than any version of Isis I've ever listened to.😬

And honestly, I was never really one to trash Isis; their live shows were always incredible... it's just that listening to them on vinyl never quite hits the spot for me. It just doesn't work.
But man, I used to absolutely hate Red Sparrows, I won't lie.😬

Back in Phoenix, I had someone jump on my hood right outside the Harlequin once—then they trashed the windshield and peed on the car before all that.

Then again, maybe Elvis is just flying the Columbus Crew flag.

Man, seriously, that massive crowd hanging out in front of the KSET building just trying to snag a ticket? They were making so much noise they probably gave every neighbor within five blocks a heart attack!

Back when I used to haul amplifiers around KSET, the building was actually pretty well insulated in just about every direction—except for the roof. It was basically just some cheap shingles and old roofing panels that wouldn't hold even 2% of the sound within the walls. Because of that, if you were up on the 4th floor of the Empire State Building, you couldn't even blast the TV at full volume with the windows shut tight. I’m not sure if they’ve ever bothered to fix the roof since then, but honestly, it only takes one disgruntled person in the building to make it a safe bet that someone will eventually try to scratch cars with acid from a window. Just like this:🙂

Who cares how they live over there? If you really want to be right next to a major cultural institution, then I guess you can just deal with it 😁.

Maybe those college girls were actually pretty bummed out that Igor didn't strip down.

So, our friend from KSET mentioned how everyone was absolutely stunned while listening to Tonska; they were practically begging him to turn the volume down. His response? "It’s just the kick and snare that are cranked up—everything else is coming straight from my own amps." 🙂

And just when I mentioned there was absolutely no bass coming through the PA system, he goes and lies to my face saying there was!🙂

Honestly, some of today's youth could really use a bit more guidance. Wouldn't it be better if they spent their time listening to ZZ Top instead of that mediocre Irish punk?

That’s facts...

There’s actually a funny story from when they did the noise inspections after the neighbors reported us to the authorities, which ended up shutting down our club for the second time...

They were measuring the noise in another guy's apartment too, since he was one of the people who signed the petition to shut KSET down. They set it up so someone would call from that apartment to let them know they were ready for the measurement so they could crank the speakers...

So this guy in the apartment says, "Turn it on," they wait, but the meter isn't showing anything... he goes, "Turn the sound on," still nothing... "Are you guys gonna turn it on or what?" ..."Yeah, we turned it on," comes the voice from the other side...

And then the professor doing the measurements (the same guy I saw getting roasted last night near KSET before he headed home) tells him: "Stop messing around, you morons."

Then the poor guy started making excuses about how he was just trying to be fair to everyone else and stuff... poor guy.

What's going through that guy's head at the Empire State Building that makes him think I need to sharpen my keys?🙂
