Besides, it isn't just about the apartments—it’s about the neighborhood. I don't get what would be considered "elite" about Martinovka. Those crumbling sidewalks? The unpaved side streets? That hideous park/plaza area? There isn't a single major retailer nearby besides those tiny corner convenience stores. Any actual office buildings?🤷
Good for you, but let's be real: Martinovka is still one of the most expensive neighborhoods in the city, right at the top of the market. Believe me, I know how this works. If you don't buy it, take five minutes to browse some real estate listings and you'll see exactly what I mean.
And those buildings right across from KSETa? They're almost entirely high-end luxury condos.

Look, I'm sure there are some luxury condos and pricey apartments over there, but based on everything I just laid out—and I totally forgot to mention that dive bar near Utla 😬—there is absolutely no way anyone could convince me that Martinovka is a classy neighborhood. 🙂
BTW, you probably remember it... what was the name of that old-school pub on the corner right after school? The one where everyone used to go back in the '90s to listen to old-school rock from the America days? My brain is just blanking and I can't for the life of me recall the name...

I’m telling you, Martinovka remains one of the priciest neighborhoods in the US when you factor in land value, price per square foot, and rent alone. Besides, that Sutla spot hasn't existed for years.😛
As for that old-school era, all I remember is nenin cappuccino. 🤷 It was located in that new development near the school; if I recall correctly, they shut it down around 2001.

Man, that place was legendary. For a venue that size, the concerts were absolutely killer. Cold beer, Mazgoon, and a few other heavy hitters playing in a dive bar with maybe 30 people in the crowd 😁

Ten minutes to get to the močvara is ten minutes closer than if you were coming from Utrina or Travno from anywhere else across the states.

I pulled up Google Earth, and looking at the distance from Martinovka to the močvara, it’s about 1.5 km as the crow flies—maybe even closer to 2 km if you actually bother to follow the street signs and take the most direct route. If you weren't constantly wasted, you might actually have a clue how long that walk really takes. 😘

And number two: who cares? Neno performed that one with the choir and an acoustic guitar. As for point two, a mile and a half is just a fifteen-minute walk; it's hardly an ordeal. Especially if you've ever attempted to trek from Utrina to the močvara.

Look, I’ve got a bus that gets me to Union Station in eight minutes, plus another five if I decide to walk from there. Meanwhile, the folks over in Martinovka don't have any decent public transit options to get to the swamp, unless they want to spend ten minutes getting to the station or trek over to Broadway just to catch a transfer. It's honestly laughable.
We really need to sit down and weigh all the best options for everyone here.🙂

If you catch the bus right away, I used to get from my place in the suburbs over to the marshlands in under 15 minutes. Like, from the second I stepped out the front door.
I guess Samuel Murphy6 might actually have a point here—we should probably be looking at the best overall options—but I’m kind of with Ante too. Personally, I think Martinovka is pretty decent. I could totally see myself living there.

Let’s finally wrap up this ridiculous debate about the drive out to the Everglades. Honestly, I am losing my patience with both of you. When was the last time either of you drove back from the Everglades early in the morning without spending at least thirty minutes just fighting traffic? It is exhausting dealing with you two, especially when we are talking about trips involving New York City, Martinique, or The Everglades.
