Laura Castillo7 said:This is an absolute nightmare. Honestly, that doctor was completely unprofessional—it felt more like walking into a corner deli than a top-tier hospital clinic. Just look at the photo of how they applied the anesthesia to her hand... seriously, even an elementary school kid could have done a cleaner job. And don't even get me started on those nose bandages. I have no idea why they felt the need to cover her entire face. When I had this done, I just had a mold on my nose and some hardened stuff under the bandage—felt like plaster, but nothing spread across my whole face like that. It’s disgusting. They really need to be held accountable...

When I was reading that girl's story, I was scared to death... 😳

My face was almost just as fried... 🤷

My dear friends, I am still weighing my options regarding who should perform my follow-up surgery, and in the midst of this search, I have encountered an unexpected complication... I sent emails to several doctors asking the same question: how much time is required before undergoing a new procedure? It has been nearly four months since my initial surgery. What did I receive in response? So far, only Zambelli and Glušac have replied, and their advice is diametrically opposed; according to Glušac, I could undergo surgery immediately, yet Zambelli insists I must wait a full year for everything to settle. Now, I am left completely bewildered!!! Does anyone here have any experience with this matter?

Thanks for all the feedback. I definitely plan on following up with my doctor about this. Since I’ll be staying in the hospital for at least five days, I assume I won't be applying those compresses myself unless the staff provides them...

Kate Taylor59 - because of my deviated septum and ongoing sinus issues—plus some deformed turbinates—I decided to see Dr. Baudoin. He's an ENT, and I received glowing recommendations for him... So, he'll be performing my surgery at Mount Sinai, where they can also fix the bump on my profile and slim down my nose a bit.

Does anyone know if Zambelli performs closed techniques too, or does he strictly stick to open procedures like he did back at the clinic?
Anyway, now I'm spiraling a bit over anesthesia... honestly, I nearly lost it reading horror stories about what happened to some people. They were given general anesthesia, but it didn't take properly, so they felt everything—yet they couldn't do a damn thing because they were still technically unconscious. :O My God, just imagine if that happened to you. And of course, being the neurotic mess I am, I'm the one freaking out about it. It's always my bad luck.

wearyotter112 said:Hey everyone... I'm still stuck in this endless loop of trying to decide which surgeon to go to for my revision surgery, and honestly, this whole search has thrown a massive curveball at me. I sent out emails to a bunch of doctors asking the exact same thing: how much time should pass before getting a second procedure? It’s been almost four months since my last one. And what did I get? Well, Zambelli and Glušac both got back to me, but they gave me completely opposite advice. According to Glušac, I could jump right back in for surgery now, but Zambelli thinks I shouldn't even think about it for another year until everything settles down. I am totally lost right now!!! Has anyone else dealt with this kind of conflicting info before???

Hahaha, okay, you actually just cracked me up. 😂
That sounds exactly like something the "all-knowing" Glušac would say. 😁
But honestly, they probably both gave you the right answer from their own perspectives. My guess? You *could* technically go under the knife immediately, but it's way smarter to wait a full year because your nose needs that time to heal and actually settle into its final shape after the first round. If you rush it, you won't even know what the actual issues are because things are still swelling or shifting. Waiting a year lets you see the final result so you can pinpoint exactly what you want changed. Even though I think Glušac is a total legend, 😁in this specific situation, I’d definitely lean toward Zambelli’s side of things. Let your nose fully recover from the first surgery before putting it through more trauma. What's the rush, right? 😕

And there’s one more thing I’m curious about (am I being too much? probably -.-)... has anyone here actually gone through with surgery while dealing with chronic sinus issues?

Honestly, now I’m freaking out about the anesthesia part... I legit almost lost it reading horror stories about what happened to some people. They were given general anesthesia, but it didn't take properly, so they could feel everything—except they couldn't do anything because they were still knocked out... :O Seriously, imagine if that happens to you. And since I'm such a massive hypochondriac, all this stress is probably going straight to my heart. Just my luck, right? Always the one dealing with all the crap.

Look, you've been dropping questions about Zambelli for days now and nobody's answering—not because we're trying to ghost you, but because honestly, we probably just don't know. It's pretty obvious that none of the folks active on this forum lately have actually been under his knife. Have you even scrolled through his entire website? I bet you'll find most of the answers you're looking for right there.
If you really want peace of mind, your best bet is to just give him a call and schedule a consultation. That way, you can get direct answers to every single one of your concerns.

I bet there are plenty of answers to your questions buried in there somewhere.

I mean, I know... but I just figured someone here might actually know how his process works.. :P

It’s just so typical of the "all-knowing" Glušac.😁
However, they both probably gave you the right advice. I assume surgery is an option immediately, but waiting a year is recommended because your nose needs that time to fully heal and settle after the first procedure. It's much smarter to wait a year so you can pinpoint exactly what you're unhappy with and what you'd want to change. Even though I think Glušac is a legend,😁 in this specific instance, I’d side with Zambelli's perspective. Wait until your nose has completely recovered from the first surgery before putting it through a second one. What's the rush?😕

See? He's just too much... 🙂As for me, part of me wants to go under the knife right now just to get it all over with, but logically, I think I'll choose to wait. I'll just see what everyone else has to say; I'm genuinely curious to compare their answers...

From what I’ve heard, you can go in for surgery after just a few months—it doesn't really matter... since everything is going to have to heal all over again regardless!

I am honestly quite conflicted. Both Dr. Miller and Dr. Stevens gave me the same advice: they suggest waiting at least six months, though a full year would be ideal. Consequently, I think I will wait. If anyone here has found themselves in a similar situation, please reach out...

If anyone else has dealt with something similar, let me know...

Well, just wait then. 🙂

Let me just give you a quick heads-up right from the jump—I haven't actually had the chance to read this whole thread from the very beginning because, honestly, life has been a bit hectic lately... so I'll just jump straight in and ask a quick question. 😍 I’m not entirely sure how much I know about the specifics here, so I hope it’s okay to ask, but I was wondering about something: basically, I’ve been thinking about getting nose surgery, but since a private plastic surgeon is a bit out of my budget right now, I wanted to see if there's any way to go through a public hospital instead? I dealt with sinus issues when I was a kid, and even now, whenever I get sick, they act up... so I was wondering if it might be possible to have them perform sinus surgery and then, perhaps, do a little bit of cosmetic reshaping while they're at it 🤣?

Lisa Harris8 said:Ladies, let me just come out and say right away that I haven't had a chance to read this entire thread from the very beginning—I am truly swamped and just don't have the luxury of time right now—so I’m hoping you can bear with me while I jump straight in with a quick question. 😍 I’m not entirely sure if this is the right place to bring this up, so please bear with me if I'm off base, but I have a question that's been weighing on my mind lately. I’ve been seriously considering getting rhinoplasty, but let’s be honest—the out-of-pocket costs for a top-tier private plastic surgeon in the States are just astronomical, and it's simply not in my budget right now. Because of that, I’ve been wondering how the process works through the public hospital system. Ever since I was a little girl, I've struggled with chronic sinus issues that never seem to go away. It’s one of those things where every time I catch a cold, it turns into a total nightmare. So, I was thinking—is it actually possible to get sinus surgery covered by insurance through a state hospital, and then somehow have them perform some minor cosmetic adjustments to the shape of my nose while they're already in there? I know it sounds a bit ambitious, but I’d love to hear if anyone has any insight into how that kind of thing works. 🤣 ?

From what I understand, it’s actually a deviated septum combined with some cosmetic work they're looking into, rather than anything to do with sinus issues.

So, if you're looking into the specifics, there’s actually a distinction between the two procedures. If they are just working on the septum itself, that's called a septoplasty. But, if the surgeon is also tackling the nasal pyramid to reshape the overall structure, then we're talking about a septorhinoplasty.

I sent that over to you on purpose!

That’s called a septoplasty if it's just the septum—but if they're touching the bridge of the nose too, then it's a septorhinoplasty...

I sent that over to you on purpose!

Aha... so, even if you don't have any actual issues with your septum, you still can't get the surgery? Or is it more like you can go through with it, but you'd have to foot the entire bill yourself? 🤷

Thought I’d jump in here too. So, if you don't actually have a deviated septum, you can still get the work done, but you'll be footing the whole bill yourself. But if you *do* have one? Then they can usually toss in the aesthetic stuff without any hassle—though, honestly, it just depends on the surgeon whether they charge extra or not (if they do, it shouldn't be more than $3,000, $1333). I actually just had my septum surgery seven days ago, and my doctor ended up fixing the bump on my nose while he was at it, totally for free. Just a heads-up though: make sure you ask him when you're scheduling everything. If you don't bring it up, they aren't going to touch anything outside of what was originally agreed upon, because if they start messing with the external look of your nose, they have to change your medical diagnosis.

Hey everyone... Well, I finally pulled the trigger on nose surgery. Just finished chatting everything through with Dr. Glumičić, so now I just have to pick a date and let them know... ugh, the nerves are real, but hey, we're all in this together!!! To anyone else heading in for their procedure soon, I'm wishing you a super fast recovery and the perfect results you're looking for 👍 If anyone else happens to be seeing Dr. Glumičić anytime soon, hit me up or shoot me a message... 😉

That sounds great... so you think it's possible for me to get my nose done even without a deviation, and that it might cost around $4,000? That would honestly be just perfect 😍

Honestly, I have no clue... I just know they tend to charge a premium if they're fixing a deviation for you. It doesn't hurt to just ask, right? 🙂
In my case, it was a blessing in disguise.
