Yeah, exactly that. 😁

Honestly, I could probably use that too. My nose doesn't even look that bad when I'm keeping my mouth shut, but the moment I actually smile, the whole thing just droops downward.
And you know me—I can't help but talk! 😂

So, if I finally decide to go back under the knife with Smith... 😲

obviously back to Smith 😉, I'll let you know how it goes 😁

When I smile, my nose drops too 🙄, hopefully it'll be fine now 😍

Zachary Nguyen29, you’ve really put together quite the plan here—going under general anesthesia just for your mouth! I have to admit, there is something deeply unsettling about watching them use those massive needles for oral procedures. 😲
I can only imagine how much relief you'll feel once this is all behind you.

I am looking forward to hearing your update on how everything went! 😉

How freaking good is that!!!

Can't wait to hear how everything goes! 😉

I'm heading in for an upper lip eversion, which means surgery.😲
Check out his website and you'll see what I mean—my upper lip is too thin, so he’s going to lift it to give me that forward projection.😁

I'll update everyone once it's done.😘
Wish me luck.😉

😲Wait—so you're saying if I go see Johnson, only half the job actually gets done?!
Donna Castillo7, what’s your take—since you're dealing with the same nose issues🤷?

Nah, that's not what I meant. Every surgeon has their own way of doing things. I like Smith because he cuts that specific muscle, which is what I need. Maybe you don't need that part done😁

I don't know—my face doesn't distort that much when I'm talking, but once I start laughing... man, looking at my photos is rough. I'm not sure which animal I'd compare myself to—maybe something with a beak? Honestly, when I'm just standing there normally, it isn't a total disaster... until I crack a smile.😁

I recently went to see Dr. Glisac in Santa Barbara for nose surgery... and honestly, I have to give credit where credit is due—he did a phenomenal job. After undergoing four different procedures at state-run hospitals that left me feeling pretty unsatisfied, I had to summon a lot of courage to go for a fifth time with Dr. Glisac. He followed our plan to the letter, too. I didn't feel even a hint of pain, and when I had the packing removed the next day, everything was perfectly fine. I’d highly recommend Dr. Glisac to anyone looking for real results.

Hey everyone—has anyone here had any experience working with Dr. Shaw over in Indianapolis? I’ve been looking into him and he seems like such a genuinely nice guy... I actually have a nose surgery scheduled with him next week! I'm trying to gather some feedback from others who've been through it—I have to admit, I'm feeling a little bit nervous about the whole thing.

I wouldn't say only half the work is done. Surgeons usually don't bother cutting the lip muscle for long noses because those noses already have a tendency to droop when you talk or laugh—that's just how they're built. After surgery, the tip is lifted (slightly, obviously, we aren't aiming for a pig nose), and since facial expressions happen when you smile, you can't exactly freeze your entire face just to fix a nose. But generally, the nose ends up much shorter, so there isn't much left to "droop." It's the opposite for short noses that need a hump removed; since the nose is already short, they have to cut that muscle so the tip doesn't pull the lip up, or the lip doesn't drag the tip down.
Honestly, it all comes down to how the surgeon executes it. From what I know, Smith is the only one in the NYC area who actually cuts that muscle.

I'm getting my splint off tomorrow, so I'll let you guys know how everything looks. So far, so good. You can already tell the nose is significantly smaller, which helps since I have a small face.

Heh, when I'm talking, it shifts up. When I laugh, it drops down. 🙄 Yeah, I feel like some kind of little animal too. 😁

For me, things have gone downhill. Even my doctor admitted it. When everything was still swollen, you couldn't see what's visible now that it's hardened. It's been four months, and that's why I’m facing another surgery soon;((
My nose is just completely distorted—that's the reaction to the process. Now they’re going to break the bone and do a full reconstruction.
Please, if anyone has experience or knows someone who does, let me know about recovery after an OPEN type surgery.
I read that they only do that for really severe cases because the reconstruction allows full access to the cartilage and bones...........

Thanks for the reply..

Regarding open surgery—it sounds silly, but look at the footage from the red folder where Dr. Smith operated on Ava Karabeg; that was an open procedure. Personally, I don't know anyone who has had nose surgery, but judging by how Ava looks, there isn't even a scar, and she was already out and about just a week later.
What I do know is that open surgery isn't strictly reserved for extreme cases. It's simply a method that gives the surgeon a much better view of the nasal anatomy, especially when you've already had surgery before.

After dealing with four different surgeries at state hospitals where nothing ever turned out quite right—seriously, I was so frustrated—I had to work up the nerve to go for a fifth time with Dr. Glusac. It was a big leap of faith, but man, was it worth it. He did exactly what we discussed during our consultation, no surprises there. And the best part? I didn't feel even a hint of pain. I had my packing removed the very next day and everything felt totally fine... If you're looking for someone, I can't recommend Dr. Glusac enough!

Man, I am seriously so happy to hear that! 🙂So, I was just mentioning in a post the other day that I went to see a private specialist... and he actually told me that my issues aren't coming from tonsillitis at all, but are actually being caused by a deviated septum... it was Dr. Glisac who saw me... though, honestly, he seems to live in his own little world—he’s got this way of mixing intense medical jargon with these random comparisons to old-school outlaws or something... it's a bit much, really...🤣😂...but I mean, even right from the start, I just had this gut feeling that he actually knew exactly what he was doing... 🤷...the guy is doing an absolutely incredible job... I've honestly heard that from so many people lately...👍And now... I just need to find the nerve—and maybe scrape together about a thousand bucks...🤣

So, I had nose surgery a few days ago with Dr. Glumicic, and I’ve got a couple of things on my mind for anyone who's been through this before.
1. I caught a bit of a cold, so now I've got this constant drainage running down my throat and getting all over the swabs. I guess I'm just worried—could that lead to an infection or something scary like gangrene? I'm kind of freaking out a little bit. 😁
2. Every single night, I get these nauseous feelings, almost like there's a stone sitting in my stomach. Has anyone else dealt with anything like that?

Brandon Bennett said:So, I just had my nose surgery a few days ago with Dr. Johnson, and I’m starting to wrap my head around the recovery process! I have a few questions for anyone else out there who has been through this exact thing before. Any advice or tips would be amazing!
I’ve been feeling a little under the weather lately, and now I’ve got this constant post-nasal drip that just keeps running down my throat and getting all over my swabs. Honestly, it’s starting to freak me out a bit—could this lead to some kind of nasty infection or even something serious like gangrene? I'm feeling pretty anxious about it! 😁
Has anyone else ever dealt with that feeling where you get hit with nausea every single night? It’s honestly the worst—it feels exactly like I have a heavy stone sitting right in my stomach. Has anyone gone through something similar?

Honestly, this is probably just that weird, congestion-like sensation you get from using tampons. I’ve actually dealt with something almost identical before—that feeling where the tampon feels totally rigid and starts chafing, and then if you sneeze, it’s like a massive irritation hits you all at once. After a big sneeze, it felt like the tampon was just floating around in mucus; it was such a bizarre sensation, kind of like I was scuba diving! But seriously, don't sweat it—it's generally harmless.

And this could also be part of that same spillover we were talking about in the first one! 🙂

Look, if you feel like your symptoms are getting a bit too intense—I mean, if you’re running a fever, dealing with vomiting, or seeing any actual pus from the wound—you really need to give your doctor a call. Seriously, don't sit on it! Even if you aren't ready to head into the clinic just yet, why not ring them up right now? Just having a quick chat with a professional could be exactly what you need to settle those nerves and give you some peace of mind. 😉

Hey, so I just had my nose revision a few days ago. It’s actually pretty fascinating—I didn't feel any pain at all this time, even though they went through the exact same process as the first time, including a full osteotomy. Plus, the bruising is significantly less than last time, which really caught me off guard! Now, if I can just finally get rid of this splint 🙂

Who was your surgeon?

Wait, am I losing my mind? Between fasting and everything else, I honestly can't remember who said what anymore.
I don't recall you being unhappy with the first one—if I remember right, you were actually the one comforting me.🙂
So what happened—did they have to redo everything???
It's only been a month for me since my procedure and I'm still freaking out...
