Ashley Young34 said:So, I finally sat down today to run through all my health checks and tests—and honestly? Everything came back looking great. I’m feeling healthy as can be. 😁 I'm all set and ready for my surgery. 😛
Honestly, I’m just counting down the days at this point—really hoping that time flies by and everything wraps up on the right note. 😍

Hey Nika, let me give you a little bit of encouragement too... I've seen plenty of nonsense posted around here, so please don't let any of it get to you. Honestly, none of it is actually that serious.
It’s honestly a little uncomfortable having tampons stuffed up your nose—it really makes breathing through your mouth feel like a chore, doesn't it?
Honestly, I’m feeling absolutely nothing—no pain at all—and to be perfectly honest, I actually feel pretty great.
Just stay brave, honestly—and please, try not to take everything you read on this forum at face value. There’s plenty of nonsense floating around here, isn't there?
I'm headed in to get those swabs taken this Monday—once that's out of the way, I'll be sure to check back in and let you all know how everything went. 🙂)

People aren't posting nonsense here; they’re just sharing what actually happened to them. It's unfortunate that some people didn't have a smooth surgery on the first try, or maybe their recovery was a nightmare, or they had issues with their doctors. That doesn't make their stories "stupid." No one's experience here is stupid, so stop being insulting. It's actually good to see both the wins and the fails—it's all useful info. Just show some decency and quit calling other people's lives "stupid."

I really didn't mean to offend anyone, so please accept my apologies if it came across that way... I’m just suggesting that we shouldn't take everything we read at face value—I definitely wasn't implying that every single thing posted here is nonsense. Of course people have had difficult experiences, and honestly, we should all be grateful to them for sharing those stories so we know what to expect.
But I know myself—back when I was first reading through these threads, I almost talked myself out of having the surgery entirely. I just want to encourage Nika by reminding her that there are plenty of us out there for whom the procedure was a total success..
Again, I am sorry if I caused any friction, but I truly didn't call everyone's stories foolishness 🙂

Having tampons up your nose and breathing through your mouth is a little awkward..
But nothing hurts at all.. and I actually feel great..
So just hang in there, and don't believe every stupid thing you read on this forum..
I'm getting my tampons out on Monday, so I'll let you know how that goes 🙂)

I totally get where you're coming from😉, I know exactly what you mean🙂, thanks for the pep talk and good luck on Monday, I'll be rooting for you 😍

What would happen if, say, after the surgery, I realize I can't breathe through my nose at all and have to rely solely on mouth breathing?
And I’d still have to wait a few days before they can finally pull those packing pads out.

Just go see Smith. He'll get it done in 24 hours—meaning he pulls the packing out the very next day if you're just doing cosmetic work and not a septum repair.🙂

Well, we're talking about a septum procedure here, so... 🙂

Hey everyone. So, I just got back from my doctor's office, and she suggested I go see this specialist over at Mount Sinai—I can't for the life of me remember his last name, though I know it starts with a K... anyway, does anyone know who I'm talking about? If you've seen him, what was your experience like??🙂

First off, I'm a lady, not a gentleman 😁. And if your septum is actually the problem, you might want to get used to breathing through your mouth for a few days 🤷

Look, I know you’re being a total lady here—really, you are—but let’s be real: that guy is nothing but a complete gentleman. 😁

Why wouldn't someone be able to just breathe through their mouth? I mean, you could probably hold out for three days... it wouldn't be that big of a deal, right?

Look, I never said I *couldn't* breathe through my mouth—it's more like, let's just say if I did, I'd be asking for trouble. Breathing through your mouth makes you way more prone to hyperventilating (and if you haven't experienced that firsthand, you really don't know what I'm talking about), so yeah... anyway, I've got surgery coming up this week, and I've been kind of practicing breathing through my mouth a bit to prep, but honestly, I'm still not entirely sure how it's going to go..🤷

Breathing through your mouth can really increase the risk of hyperventilating (if you haven't experienced that personally, you might not realize what I mean), so... anyway, I have a surgery coming up this week, and I've been trying to practice breathing through my mouth a bit, though I'm honestly not sure how it's going.🤷

I've actually been breathing through my mouth for the last four days (until about an hour ago)... it feels a little weird and definitely more difficult, but don't worry, you'll manage to get through it.
I had the packing removed today, and honestly, it was over in ten seconds flat. It felt pretty jumpy and intense, but it didn't hurt at all.
I'm getting the mold removed this Thursday.🙂

Kimberly Baker13 said:Does anyone happen to know the going rate for a purely cosmetic rhinoplasty under general anesthesia with Dr. Glumicic?

Nothing? I feel like I saw someone mention a price around $1,800 somewhere on this forum—though honestly, that seems way too low compared to Smith and his usual range of $9,500-$3833.

With Glumicic, you’re looking at $2,000 for sure,👍
That's just your standard baseline, really...
Then you've got the pricey options—Zambelli, Zgaljardic... mine was actually $2,200 with a specialist in St.
If that number from Ostojicev is even remotely accurate, it's wild!🤷
Keep in mind, they all work together—you've got the surgeon, plus the anesthesiologist, the techs, the assistants... so I'm guessing that's where the total bill gets inflated.

Smith has it at 9,500 for the local version—but then jumps up to 11,500 for the standard one. Honestly, that price gap is kind of wild...

That sounds like the standard average to me...
Some charge way more, like Zambelli or Zgaljardic. Mine was 2000 bucks with my doc in St.
If that price from Smith is legit, I'm shocked.🤷
They all work together, and since you get an anesthesiologist, techs, and nurses alongside the surgeon during general anesthesia, that explains why the total bill is so high.

Look, I'm going to see Smith, like I already told you.😁 The price for general anesthesia is 11k$167—that's the real number. He has a full crew behind him, too: anesthesiologist, tech, scrub nurse... the whole works.😍

Well, you can't have a surgical team without the full crew; a surgeon is nothing without their anesthesiologist and scrub nurse, at the very least. In my case, my doctor even has a surgical assistant on hand to help out.
I ended up paying $10,000 for the procedure.

I dropped ten grand on the surgery.

That’s just my take on how the whole team works—because I know that's how it goes when you're dealing with general surgery. Now, since I’ve only worked under local anesthesia, I can't say for sure how they handle it there, but my guess is that in some operating rooms, the nurses are right there assisting the surgeon during the procedure. In my experience, it was always two surgeons plus the rest of the crew.🙂
All in all—Summa, you definitely came out on top here, Anja. As for me? I got absolutely fleeced on the price. LOL.
A. Ostojic is sitting at about a thousand bucks cheaper than Glumicic... why? Who knows.😕I mean, look—both of them have their own strengths. You’re always going to find a massive crowd of happy fans, sure, but you'll also inevitably run into that handful of critics who were just as miserable under the first guy as they are now. It's just how it goes.
Good luck—and if I can offer one bit of advice, just be direct. Don't beat around the bush when you're making decisions. You need to tell the doctor exactly what's going on, plain and simple. What is it you actually want? I think you might have cut off there—you only sent "i". What was it you were going to say? I'm all ears, though I can't promise much enthusiasm. What is it you guys actually want?No matter what he says about the whole thing—it doesn't really change anything—because I've finally realized that, at the end of the day, those girls are never going to be fully satisfied anyway.
It’s always the same story—me wanting more of this, less of that.
Look, you’re basically just a walking example of what most people would be fine with—if they were in your shoes, they wouldn't lift a finger either. Even someone like a doctor might share that same "just let it be" mindset, but you? You actually have a vision here. Don't be afraid to speak up and say it out loud.
I’m even suggesting you just use Photoshop—you can pull that off anywhere—and bring the edited version straight to your doctor.
