Does anyone happen to know which surgeon performed the rhinoplasty for Isaac Sharp?

I did—my septum was just being a total jerk 😁 haha, and honestly, I'm still stuck here in the hospital ☕

So, did you actually go through with the cosmetic procedure or what? Give us the rundown—was it brutal or what? 😁Well, at least you finally got rid of it. 😁Get well soon. 🙂

Come on, give us the lowdown—was it as intense as everyone says, or was it actually pretty chill? 😁Well, at least you finally got that sorted out! 😁I’m sending you all the good vibes—really hope you have a super speedy recovery! 🙂

So, I didn't actually go under the knife myself—I was just watching one of my roommates deal with it—but the whole experience was wild. It wasn't even some massive, life-altering surgery or anything, but about half an hour before everything kicked off, they gave him this "courage shot" to calm his nerves. Honestly, you feel absolutely incredible after getting that injection; it’s like a sudden wave of pure confidence washes over you. Anyway, once he was feeling good, they wheeled him into the OR, got him settled onto the operating table, and the doctor started rambling about something or other... and then, boom—next thing he knows, he's waking up right outside the operating room doors. Just a total blackout! 😁 I wasn't even in the ICU—I was basically the only one there who didn't belong—but honestly? After getting just two bags of IV fluids, I was practically parading down the hallway two hours later like I owned the place! 😁Honestly, though—the sleep situation? Absolute zero out of ten. My lips are cracked like crazy, and I feel like I’ve sneezed about 800 times already today. But hey, I guess it's fine since nothing actually hurts yet. Just curious—are you switching out your gauze regularly, like every five days or so? 🙂 ☕

If there’s anything else you guys are curious about—seriously, don't be shy—just shoot! I'm an open book, so ask away!!!!

You feel great from it, then they move you to the table, the doctor starts talking, and the next thing you know, you're waking up outside the OR 😁 (didn't go to ICU, I was the only one who didn't need it). But whatever, no pain. Just change the gauze regularly and you're set 🙂. ☕

If you guys want to know anything else, just ask!!!!

Thanks for the info 🙂, but honestly, as long as there's no pain, it's fine. This will all pass 😁

Hey everyone! Well, I finally went ahead and dealt with my unfortunate nose situation, and I actually got discharged from the hospital yesterday. It’s still pretty tough to breathe since everything feels so congested and I've got that constant drainage down the back of my throat, but they didn't prescribe any nasal sprays or anything for rinsing. Has anyone else gone through something similar? I was wondering if there's anything I could try on my own besides just using saline, especially since I'm strictly not allowed to blow my nose right now.

I just finished my surgery, and honestly? I am officially done. Never again. This recovery process is absolutely brutal—I feel like I’m losing my mind here. I truly don't get people who go through this two or three times... it's not that I'm a coward or anything, but having packing stuffed up your nose for five straight days is just straight-up NIGHTMARE fuel!!!🙂

Five days? Really? I had two days of recovery even after a full osteotomy, and the septum is usually the minor part of it. Shouldn't they be taking those out by day two?

Look, with Dr. Smith, you’re stuck with nasal packing for 3 to 5 days. If you go to the cosmetic surgeon, they pull them out after just 24 hours. 😁Look, just hang in there. You've already hit rock bottom. 🙂

The hospital always keeps those swabs in for five days. You have to stay put until they pull them out, whereas a private clinic will just torpedo you and send you straight home as soon as you've regained some consciousness after surgery. The procedures are completely different...

I know that 😁

Tampons should really only be used while you're actually bleeding, and since a normal period lasts about 24 hours, I have no idea why they leave tampons in for five days.🤷
There's just no logic to it! It feels like pure suffering!

Honestly, the absolute best I felt was the day I had my surgery—I think it was some reaction to the IV fluids or those meds they gave me—and even last night was actually okay... but the days in between? Total DISASTER. Tomorrow morning they’re finally pulling out the swabs, so hopefully I can finally start feeling like a person again!🙂

Nick, counting your pennies now?! 😁

How are you holding up? Are you feeling the fear? Or just the adrenaline?

Just wanted to check in and give you guys an update... I finally sent out those inquiry emails to Dr. Miller, Dr. Smith, and Dr. Thompson regarding my surgery. I made sure to attach a super clear photo of my nose so they actually knew what they were looking at 🙂. Well, they all got back to me. Dr. Miller kept it pretty short and sweet—basically just said it’s best if I come in for an initial consultation first so we can hash out the details. On the other hand, the other two doctors really went above and beyond, taking the time to write out thorough responses to every single one of my questions. Interestingly enough, they were all on the exact same page regarding the diagnosis: a subluxation of the lower edge of the nasal septum... which apparently makes this one of the most complicated nose surgeries out there. Because of that, they all agreed I’ll need to be under general anesthesia; there's a huge chance I'd feel too much pain if they just tried to do it with local numbing. As for the damage to my wallet, Dr. Smith quoted me $13 $0.00, while Dr. Thompson came in at $15 $0.00.
Anyway... hopefully this info helps someone else out there navigating the same mess.
Later 🙂
