It’s not even about what happens after surgery—it's more about how I feel right now. For quite a while, I've been feeling like it's way harder to breathe through my nose, though I haven't actually done anything about it yet (it's definitely on my to-do list!). Then, out of nowhere, I'll have a random nosebleed for no apparent reason... could that be a symptom of a deviated septum, or am I totally off base?

Honestly, I don't think that has anything to do with a deviated septum...

Thanks... I just laid down and now I'm just swelling up. 😁So, how’s the recovery going? You deal with any massive bruising?

William Turner82 said:I think that's nonsense. I'm 17, and I believe people should just look the way they were born. Everyone is born with their own flaws, and there's no reason to change them.

...it's all subjective and depends on the person. For example, I've dealt with an insecurity about my nose for years and have been planning this surgery for ages 😁, and you can't speak for everyone, because we're all different......

I didn't have any issues with that at all—I just had my septum repaired 😁—but I know some guys in my room who seriously couldn't even look at it

Not trying to scare anyone, since everyone's different, and I’ve basically managed to hit every possible complication. Looking back, I don't know why I put myself through all this, but I'm just hoping I'll finally be happy without feeling self-conscious about it.😁
Good luck.😉

One girl already sent me a photo, thanks again for that...
I know I'm being a pain, but would you guys be so kind as to post more pictures? Or if you feel awkward doing it publicly, just hit me up in my DMs? Thanks so much🙂

Feeling any better?

hey Dragaaaaa 😉
I'm doing a little better today, but I'm still swollen. Honestly, I don't even look like myself 😲
They're taking the cast off on Monday, so hopefully everything's fine by then 😁
xoxo 😘

Honey, you should run straight to CVS and grab some warm/cold compresses—just use them to cool down the back of your neck... I kept my neck cool for the first two days and didn't end up bruising at all!!

....thanks 😉, but it’s too late for me now since the swelling is already starting to go down 😁
I saw that photo you posted where you had zero bruising or swelling, but I looked like I got hit by a semi-truck 😲 honestly, I couldn't have looked any worse. I'm just telling myself it's all slowly improving. I'm getting the mold removed on Monday, so hopefully everything looks decent by then 😉

Forgot to ask, how are you guys cleaning out those nose scabs? Like, what are you even using? 😛

I saw that photo you posted where you didn't have any bruising or swelling, but honestly? It felt like I got hit by a semi-truck. 😲 I looked absolutely brutal, but I'm just trying to stay positive since things are finally starting to subside. I'm getting my cast removed on Monday, so hopefully, I'll look somewhat human by then. 😉

Does anyone know what you actually need to apply to prevent the swelling in the first place??
I was "erasing" my bruises with heparin, but I didn't actually prevent them from happening—it was a total disaster.
This might sound ridiculous, but Nick, I was taking Normabell just to sleep through the night like a log. I’d barely wake up until noon, so the days just kind of blurred together...
Since you're clearly up and at 'em by 8 AM, I figured I'd tell you—for me, it was the best rest I've ever had. I slept harder than I ever have, even with the tampons.
I've got my next surgery coming up in two weeks, and oh boy... I am not ready.

My new surgery is in two weeks, oh man, oh man....

I'm not taking anything, which is why I'm more awake than rested, plus sleeping on my back is impossible 🙄, I just end up rolling onto my side and keeping my head straight 😂, ughhh... pure misery
Fingers crossed for your next surgery 😉

Honestly, I’d just dip a Q-tip in some olive oil and gently clean out the nostrils myself😉))
So even Dr. Smith keeps the mold on for 7 days? I thought my doctor was the only one who did that—usually, other surgeons take them off after 4 days.

I was at the Mayo Clinic back in September and everything turned out👍, nothing too crazy. I headed straight home the next day since I don't live in NYC, so just stay brave... who's your surgeon?

Yeah, whatever. Smith keeps the mold for seven days, but the swabs only stay for 24 hours. 😁
Thanks. I'm gonna try that too—soaking some sticks in olive oil, just like you suggested. 😉I'll get on that once I grab the mold. Honestly, I'm still too nervous to mess around with it. 😍

Thanks for the tip! I think I'll try what you did—using those swabs in olive oil😉—but I’m going to wait until the mold is finally off. Honestly, I'm still a little too nervous to start poking around there just yet.😍

My surgeon actually told me not to touch anything at all—just let everything fall out on its own naturally...
Watch out that you don't accidentally pull any stitches out; it might be better to just leave everything alone for now.🙂
I'll try to post a new photo of the bandage soon!! Just as soon as I can find a decent shot from earlier.🙂
