That's great, 😁David Phillips2👍.

What kind of prices are we looking at over at the Glumicic clinic?

I am honestly not entirely certain anymore—somewhere around $3333, perhaps—though I wonder if anything has actually shifted since then... I really can't say for sure.

Hey Elizabeth Hernandez4,
just ask away, or we can chat in private messages!

I had my nose job (cosmetic surgery) at the Gulic Clinic. Dr. Glusca performed the surgery and I am incredibly happy with the results. 🙂 QUOTE]

Hannah Long82, I'm actually looking into this doctor too. She replied to my email about some pretty general stuff, but I definitely want to dig deeper before I schedule a consultation. Do you have a moment to swap details via PM?

Ugh, you really have to pull all those numbers together first... we aren't exactly talking about pocket change here.🤷

Kate Taylor59 said:How many days did it take before you were able to stop using tampons—and honestly, did you deal with much pain after the surgery?...

No pain at all—not even a hint of any swelling... 🙂
Regarding the tampons—at Dr. Toncic’s clinic, they usually take them out after three days, but I ended up keeping mine in for four since the third day after my surgery fell on a holiday... unfortunately. But hey, I survived that too... 😁

By the way—I actually have a question for anyone who has already gone through the surgery!
How long did it take before you guys started noticing the stitches coming loose?

I mean, honestly... this is a little bit subpar, but... 🤣 After how much longer will I be able to actually exfoliate these little imperfections that have started cropping up on my gorgeous new nose... especially since I've been stuck wearing this mold and can't exactly clean my skin properly? 😢 Those jerks...
Is anyone around? Just checking to see if there's anyone active here at the moment...

hmmmm.... I think I’m leaning toward finishing up with Zgaljardic... though I honestly have no idea how my nose is going to turn out. From what I’ve noticed, she doesn't really change much about the nasal shape—you can still see all those little irregularities. So, I don't know... just feeling a bit unsure about it all.

So, they had me wearing nasal packing for six days when the plan was seven. They ended up pulling it out early because the pressure in my head was absolutely killing me. Every single time I tried to blow my nose, it just felt more congested than before. Honestly, the worst part wasn't even the congestion—it was having that thing yanked out, which caught me totally off guard😁. I figured those dressings were just some quick little strips, but when the doctor suddenly hauled about two feet of gauze out of my nostril, I nearly blacked out 😁.

Someone was asking about the discomfort... I don't know how everyone else handled it, but I had this weird sensation in my nose for a solid five months, so I just didn't touch it👎.

Now, I’ve got a nagging feeling that everything went sideways. My deviated septum hasn't just returned to how it was; it actually feels worse. My nose has a bigger hump now than it did before the surgery, it hurts like hell, and nothing is draining properly—it either clots up inside or just drips straight down my throat.

Just wanted to let you guys know that it isn't all sunshine and rainbows😁.
Just for context, I had this done at the public hospital through my insurance.
Now, it looks like my only option for a redo is going private.
Does anyone know if it's possible to get a free consultation or something similar?
I’d actually be brave enough to go through with another functional surgery at the hospital, but since I'm no longer covered by my insurance, I assume it would cost me just as much as going to a private clinic anyway.👎

For me, one stitch popped out after about 13 days—but honestly, that was probably just from me constantly picking at it and cleaning everything... rustygardener172 still has hers, even though she had her surgery ages ago...

James Edwards said:The absolute worst part was getting those tampons removed—it caught me totally off guard.😁

Did your ears hurt after they took them out too? I haven't seen anyone mention that yet... for me, it felt like someone was suddenly unclogging my ears. Just... ugh. Such a gross sensation. I wouldn't go through this whole surgery again just to deal with that removal process. It was nasty.

Hey there!
I have a few questions 🙂

I've been thinking about getting my nose done... Hmm, but I'm stuck on who to go to. I'm torn between Dr. Glumicic and Dr. Glushac... Who's actually better? XD

1. What was the experience like for you guys? How long after the surgery did they take the packing out, and how long did it take for the swelling in my nose and face to finally go down? Since I'm coming from Miami, how long do I need to plan to stay in Washington, D.C.? (If anyone happens to know 😁)
2. How much does the surgery cost with him?
3. How long is the waitlist for an appointment?
4. In your opinion, what’s the minimum age to get a rhinoplasty? 😁
5. And most importantly! XD Are you happy with the results? 😁

Good grief, my biggest fear is definitely getting a sore throat. My throat is just incredibly sensitive and seems to get inflamed all the time. :/

You can find answers to most of those questions just a few posts up in this thread.
Regarding the age limit—I've read that nasal bone development continues until you're about 22, though I personally know a few people who went through with it much earlier—so... your doctor will be the one to give you the final word on that.
As for my own experience, I waited about a month for the initial OP scheduling, while the consultation process took roughly three weeks.

I waited about a month for my surgery date, and it took around three weeks to get a consultation scheduled.

Got it... thanks! 😁

rustygardener172, I’m rooting for you if you decide to go through with the surgery!
I’ve actually made up my mind to do it, though I'm still torn on which surgeon to trust...

Zgaljardic, Zambelli, or Glumicic... oh, and Toncic too... ugh, the choices... :O

Did your ears ache too after they took the packing out? I haven't seen anyone else mention this, but for me, it felt like someone finally uncorked my ears. Such a gross feeling. I wouldn't go through the whole surgery again just for that part—removing the packing was absolutely revolting.

@Megan Moore76, clear out your inbox!

My ears didn't hurt, but I was right on the edge of passing out. My blood pressure was sky-high in my head, and once they pulled that stuff out suddenly, my pressure tanked. No matter how much I insisted I was fine, I suddenly hit a wall and felt like I could have passed out cold 🤣. I’m telling you, that shock was the worst part because I was expecting maybe 20cm of those twists. It feels like they’re pulling chunks of your brain out of there later on xD

Honestly, that’s exactly what I said too. xD I actually had to shove my hand in both times just to speed things up. 😂 Not doing that again, though—no thanks... 🙂>

How long does it usually take before those stitches start falling out on their own?

And okay, this is kinda gross, but 🤣 how soon can I actually squeeze away all these little crusties and mites that have gathered on my gorgeous new nose while I was stuck wearing the splint and couldn't exactly scrub my skin clean?😢 These little pests
anyone?

I had my procedure on September 24th, and honestly, I think I still have one or two stitches left. Don't even stress about it... I didn't even realize when mine finally dropped out 😁 (they basically just vanished overnight, lol!) and honestly, it's probably better if they stay in a bit longer since they help hold everything in place properly. 😁
Ugh, the crusties!!!! That really depends on you... once you feel like you can actually touch the area without issues—go ahead and squeeze them off 😁 just please, for the love of god, don't do anything for at least the first two weeks. 😉

Not everyone uses those speculums, you know... some doctors actually use cotton swabs instead. Honestly, I didn't even bother checking what he pulled out of my nose. It wasn't exactly agonizing or anything, just that super annoying, uncomfortable sensation. 😁

James Edwards said:Is there any way to snag a free consultation or some kind of complimentary checkup?

So, Dr. Glushac didn't even charge me for my consultation... honestly, I have no clue if everyone else is getting hit with fees or not. Meanwhile, Dr. Toncic made sure to charge me for my exam right away. $83.

There’s honestly no straight answer to a question like that. It all boils down to what you're actually looking for. Are we talking pure aesthetics, fixing a functional issue, or a bit of both? And honestly, what kind of nose shape do you even like? Personally, I think Glumicic does breathtaking work, but he's strictly a plastic surgeon. Glushac, on the other hand, is an ENT who also does plastic surgery... That was my deciding factor. I had some nightmare breathing issues that I absolutely had to fix, and my nose didn't look bad enough to warrant a purely cosmetic change anyway. But... if I didn't need the function fixed and just wanted a makeover, I might have gone with Glumicic instead.

@stormyharbor2/">@@stormyharbor2 ...hey girl, how's everything coming along? Send me those photos via PM whenever you're feeling up to it! 👍

Thanks so much for all the replies! Honestly, I was a bit spooked about the stitches—I was just blowing my nose when I felt this sudden sharp pain, and I panicked thinking I might have pulled something loose... but everything seems perfectly fine now after all.

Regarding the age limit, I'm 18 and didn't run into any issues at all... though I suspect if you're under 18, you'd need a parent to sign off on things.

As for the tampons, from what I could tell, the private clinics don't seem to use those long ones—well, not that I actually checked exactly what 🤣 removed, but some guy in the waiting room was telling me they're quite small, so now I'm wondering...

So, how long can you actually go breathing through your nose before you're forced to switch to mouth breathing?
silentotter99 mentioned that mouth breathing can actually mess up your tonsils, which honestly has me feeling a little anxious about the whole thing. 🙄
