I didn't catch the first movie, but I sat through the sequel yesterday. Honestly, I’m right there with the crowd saying this wasn't exactly a masterpiece. My biggest gripe? The acting felt off and the jokes were just way too repetitive. It felt like a movie specifically designed for middle schoolers—the theater was packed with kids between 12 and 15 who were absolutely losing it. I won't say there weren't funny moments—there were—but they were far too thin on the ground.

It’s probably not the best thing out there, but I guess the cast is pretty likable and the foundation they built on is decent enough. They seemed to improvise quite a bit of it, too.

Meh, I didn't crack a smile once. It was a bad movie—way too much forced humor.

I honestly don't get people who don't find this funny... it’s highly likely those are the same folks who think "How I Met Your Mother" is the greatest sitcom ever made. 🙄
It’s just frustrating. I realize you shouldn't really argue over comedy, given how subjective tastes are and how many different styles exist, but when something is genuinely well-crafted, you have to give it credit.
I’m not the type to laugh at someone saying "awesome" in a high-pitched voice, like they do in "How I Met Your Mother," for instance... but when a movie is actually solid, features great acting, and people insist on acting like it's garbage, it's just pathetic.

"How I Met Your Mother" is total garbage
and this movie isn't even remotely similar to that show in terms of humor ☕

If I were fifteen again—and honestly, considering I’ve sat through a literal million movies and series, which is a feat in itself—this would easily be my favorite comedy. If people hadn't built up such an absurd amount of hype around this thing, maybe my expectations wouldn't have been so skewed to begin with. It feels like Galifianakis is basically stealing scenes from both the first and second films; he’s significantly funnier in his own sketches than he is in this movie. It's the exact same story with Ken Jeong—I find his standard interviews way more hilarious than whatever role he's playing here. Still, as mediocre as both films might be to me, they really owe it to those two—they pulled Galifianakis and Ken Jeong out of total anonymity and actually gave them the platform to go shine in other projects.

Just got back from seeing it at the theater. Honestly? It’s not bad, but let's be real—it doesn't touch the original. 😁The plot feels pretty recycled, and the script follows a super similar formula. There were a few parts where it felt like they were just improvising on the fly, which is actually what the directors said they were doing. Overall, I'd give it a solid 6/10. Some hilarious moments, though some parts definitely overdo the jokes. If this hits big at the box office—which it probably will—we might just get a third one.

Honestly, the movie was pretty bad. Maybe like a 2 out of 10. It felt super predictable, and the acting was just okay, I guess.
I'm not really feeling it, honestly. I ended up waiting around for like 15 minutes just to get out of the theater.

I really wouldn't want to see that old cliché play out, where the sequel just lives off the glory of the original...
I’m planning on catching this one in the theater, mostly just to pay my respects to the first movie, which I thought was absolutely fantastic. Looking at the comments online, I’m not exactly feeling the massive hype, but hey, I'm still hoping to just sit back and enjoy a solid comedy. I actually thought Due Date was a pretty decent laugh too! This crew is totally nuts, so let's see what kind of chaos they managed to "ruin" this time around.
🙂))))

I watched the first one (a couple times) and it’s honestly one of my all-time favorite comedies, and I’ve seen a ton of movies 👍

Even though I’m usually not a fan of sequels, I was still super hyped for this second part. The sequel is solid, but let's be real—the original is way better. Even the cinematography in the first one felt sharper. That said, there are some good laughs in here 😁—though personally, I thought there weren't nearly enough compared to the first movie. Still, it's a great pick if you're looking to kill a boring night.
To me, the plot felt a bit watered down, stretched out, and predictable, plus it recycled some of the same jokes from the first film.
What actually bugs me is the crowd that was at the theater last night watching 😬—someone would say something, and I’d be cracking up because I already knew where the joke was going, while half the theater stays silent, only laughing once the punchline finally lands. 😁
Obviously, what a 15-year-old finds hilarious isn't the same as what a 25-year-old finds funny, but that's totally normal (since it's August). 🙂

I don't have anything against these "dumb" comedies, but I guess I only laughed three or four times during the first one, and not once during the second.
According to this, "Dumb and Dumber" or "Everybody Loves Mary" are hilarious comedies.

Dude, Due Date was easily one of the worst movies of the year for me.
But The Hangover Part II? That was actually great.
I seriously don't get people... you guys act like you're expecting to be crying from laughter, but this isn't some mindless slapstick flick where you're supposed to fall off your chair.
For the record, I haven't laughed my ass off at a movie since 2001 and that first Ben Stiller flick...

I mean, I laughed during the first part, but probably not enough to call this my all-time favorite comedy... I guess the movie is just kind of overrated.

Which specific scenes? I honestly didn't see any 🤷

Most comedies I’ve watched lately aren't even remotely funny, especially these recent ones. The lack of originality and the sheer over-the-top ridiculousness are just exhausting.
I usually avoid them, but The Hangover is actually genuinely interesting, hilarious, and unique. I can hardly wait for the sequel to hit the torrents.

The first part was honestly below average for me, just a mediocre foundation... so yeah, pretty bad. The second one is a bit better, I guess... there are some funny combinations in there, but it all feels kind of forced overall. I'd give it a 5 out of 10.

Honestly, the movie itself was solid and actually pretty entertaining. I wasn't expecting a typical comedy to have me laughing my head off like that.
That’s probably why you guys are going to end up disappointed if that's what you're looking for.☕

I haven't checked out the second one yet, but man, that first movie was fantastic. That scene where they're all sitting around the table the next morning... if you haven't clicked on that, it's hard to believe you'll actually get what makes the film work.

If I were fifteen again, this would easily be my favorite comedy. That’s saying something, because I’ve spent a massive amount of my life watching countless movies and series—I've seen just about everything there is to see. Honestly, if people hadn't built up such an enormous amount of hype around this film, my expectations might have been a little more grounded, but that's just how it goes sometimes.Galifianakis It feels like they’re just recycling beats from the first and second movies at this point. Honestly, I’ve always found that his sketches are much funnier than his actual film roles; it’s the exact same story with Ken Jeong. I find watching one of his standard interviews way more hilarious than his characters in these movies. Still, even if I thought both films were a bit underwhelming, you have to give them credit for finally moving on. Zach Galifianakis As for Ken Jeong, he’s enjoyed a certain level of relative anonymity, which has actually given him the freedom to really spread his wings and branch out into various other projects.

I’m sorry, but I just had to... Zach Galifianakis 🙂

Well, I suppose I'll jump back into this discussion... I ended up watching it because my boyfriend is absolutely obsessed with the movie. He basically insisted that we sit down and watch it together—multiple times, actually. 😬Honestly, the film was quite charming; it actually gave me a good laugh. 🙂 I’ll definitely be heading to the theater to see the second installment, but I have to admit, I’m feeling extremely skeptical. Most sequels tend to follow a predictable pattern—they just end up being a massive disappointment. I really hope this one breaks that trend and proves me wrong, though. 🙂 I'll take a look, and then I'll let you know my thoughts. 😉

I actually watched it yesterday! 👋 😍

Honestly, I would’ve been pretty disappointed if they hadn't kept that whole hangover vibe going, especially since that's literally what the title is about. The Hangover 😁, you know? It doesn't follow the exact same script as the first one, though. The jokes were solid as usual. 👍

The only thing for me was that the kid, Teddy, felt a little off with his acting... that's my only real gripe. The ending was great, just like always. 👍 👍

I should also offer some praise for the film itself, as it was truly excellent and maintained such a gripping tension right until the very end, though I suppose I might have preferred if they had cut out a few of those unnecessary scenes—those who have actually seen it will know exactly what I mean, specifically regarding all that gratuitous posturing and displays of masculinity, which felt completely pointless; the actual plot was more than enough on its own without all that, and frankly, it was just... ugh, gross.

My rating is 9/10.
