I fully expected a subpar sequel, and after reading several comments on this forum as well as hearing feedback from my own circle of friends, I have firmly decided that I will not be watching this film. Is there any truth to the rumor that there are scenes involving a monkey performing oral sex on someone, or vice versa? 👎

I am placing this film on my permanent shelf of things I will never bother watching. Joining it there are SALT, Fast & Furious 5, Shot em up 2, Jumper, Death Race 2, Bruno, Narnia, and the entire Harry Potter series as well.

I tend to stick primarily to the older films.

My rating is 9/10.

That caught me off guard too, how nonchalantly they portrayed everything 😁 But in a good way, though I did find it a bit 😲 😁 I'm not a fan of censorship...

That's a bit of a silly question since you actually have to watch the movie to know. Honestly, I think you're missing out on plenty of decent films just out of pure spite (Jumper, Narnia...) But hey, it's your call.😉

I suppose they really should have just shown us the back view; honestly, it was all just a bit much, and frankly, it felt like nothing more than empty talk.

That’s probably why you guys are going to end up disappointed if that's what you're looking for.☕

Sorry, but if I'm watching a comedy, I expect it to be funny—and if it's a comedy on the level of the first one, it needs to be absolutely hilarious.🙂

Why the disgust? They had to play the more brutal card a little bit.😁 It's all for the crowd, it's all pure adrenaline, baby!😁

I’ve started noticing this pattern in recent comedies, where they seem to lean way too hard into these explicit scenes...

For instance, in Hall Pass, there’s that bit where Owen Wilson falls asleep in the jacuzzi or a hot tub or whatever... and when he finally wakes up, he starts calling out for help, only to have two guys emerge from the sauna.
One Black guy and one White guy, both completely naked. The Black guy ends up lifting him up and hovering right over him while Owen Wilson is just lying there on the floor. And the whole time, the camera is lingering right on the guy's erect penis...
Then he just asks Owen Wilson, "Are you okay?" as if it wouldn't bother him at all that there's a penis sitting maybe five centimeters away from his head. 🤣

Worst part is, it isn't even erect. ☕
(Anyway, it’s just hanging there loosely, which you can clearly see)

I caught a screening yesterday, and honestly, I wish I hadn't. It was incredibly poor—lacking any substance, completely devoid of fun, and most importantly, it wasn't even remotely funny.

The first one actually held its own, but this is just absolute garbage.

I'm with you. It's a decent movie, but honestly, the hype was way over the top.

I caught a movie yesterday, so I’ll drop my take on it soon, but first I need to address some of the nonsense I’ve been reading here.

Some people on this forum calling themselves "cinephiles" are kidding themselves. You aren't some big-shot film expert just because you've watched Casablanca a dozen times, memorized every line, and binged every Kurosawa flick, only to refuse to watch anything new because it's "trash." You actually have to watch everything before you get to play judge and jury on whether something sucks or not.

Comparing The Hangover Part II to Bruno is a joke; Bruno is just total garbage that has nothing to do with this. If you think the acting is bad, fine, say that. But Bradley Cooper and Zach Galifianakis are easily two of the best young actors in the world right now. Honestly, some of you are just talking shit for the sake of it.

Let's be real: the movie isn't better than the first one. That's just a fact. It has killer jokes, though—the crowd in the theater was practically screaming after certain scenes, and it wasn't just a bunch of obnoxious teenagers either. People claim the script is too similar? Please. What did you expect, for the plot to pivot into some sci-fi thriller where aliens invade America? We knew exactly what we were getting into. And that’s actually why the movie works; the original was great, the sequel is very good, and there's no way they could screw up this specific formula. I didn't regret watching it for a single second, and I should probably mention the soundtrack is awesome, too.

If I were giving advice, I'd tell you: don't bother reading these threads until you've seen the movie yourself. Based on what people are typing here, you'd think it was absolute trash, which it definitely isn't.

I guess this is one of those movies you just put on at home when it's pouring rain outside and you feel like you've already seen everything else there is to see.

Either you're still stuck in your teenage years or you're just being too polite.
One of the strongest moments—the looks they give after the transition😂😂

Later,

I'm pretty much signing off on this.
I'd especially love to take a shot at those "elite" cinephiles... 🙄

So, we're talking about this kind of humor.
image

Not funny? I'm genuinely curious what you guys actually find hilarious...
Or when someone tells me The Big Lebowski is the greatest comedy ever made. 🤦
Don't get me wrong, it's funny (well, not *that* funny), but just because the Coen brothers directed it doesn't mean it's some life-changing riot. But hey, that's how the "great" cinephiles see it...

Say whatever you want, but honestly, I found myself completely losing it over the first movie—it was just that good. Some of the jokes are absolute perfection, and I have to give them massive credit for keeping it uncensored... it really works. I'm still waiting to catch the second one; if it’s even half as good as the original, it’s going to be a blast. 🙂

Just watched the movie today. Honestly, I’m with most people on this—the second one is way worse than the first.

But man, Chow(Ken Jeong) and Alan(Zach Galifianakis) 🙏
are just totally unhinged. I live for characters like that in movies.

The plot is 👎

Personally, I found the film to be quite excellent. I just downloaded the first installment to refresh my memory, but I have to say, the sequel actually left a stronger impression on me. If you find yourself bothered by movies that follow a specific formula, then by all means, feel free to skip it. The primary criticism I hear is that it follows the same template, but frankly, so what? If they released a third one using the exact same premise but with fresh comedic setups, I would watch it in a heartbeat.
I simply have a weakness for those absurdly stupid scenes—like when the heavy-set guy is overdosing on his friend's stash and it's priceless, or when he finds out he was rolled by a prostitute and decides to strip right in front of them, haha.
It doesn't quite sit in the same comedic league as a Will Ferrell movie, but it is certainly a solid piece of cinema.
