cosmicjackal10 said:I went in for a consultation with Dr. Klapan,,,,,,,, $100,,,,, in three words.
The most expensive $100 for 3 minutes of my life. 😠
So now what am I supposed to think about him? Is he just an overly brilliant doctor who sees everything at a glance
and therefore knows his job perfectly, or is he just too arrogant to
give a patient even 15 minutes of actual attention or answer a few basic questions.
At the end of the day, we are talking about a face here.

Here is those three minutes summarized: "HELLO." Then, "You need a rhinoplasty plus a septoplasty."
To get a computer simulation done, I have to pay $0.50, and until that simulation is finished, he won't even
tell me the price. 🤷 And oh yeah, regardless of how much it costs, you pay in cash; 😲 no credit cards allowed.

GOODBYE.

- maybe it is better to do the computer simulation just to see the final result.
But having to create it, pay $0.50,, and only then negotiate the price,,,,,,,,,,,, brrrrrr,,,,, and strictly cash,,,,,,,,,, grrrrrrrr.

1: I can't believe you were only with him for 3 minutes. That was your first meeting! He’s supposed to examine you, ask how you breathe, sketch out what he would do, listen to your preferences, and let you ask questions... When I went for my first appointment, I stayed for an hour and a half. Yeah, it was a while, but the time flew by... (Small detail—I was the last patient of the day at 8 PM).

2: Whatever you do, do NOT do the computer simulation. It is absolutely a waste of money. It's shameful that they charge for it per $500.
I agree with May, a doctor can't guarantee your nose will look exactly like the image.

3: The doctor knows the price, because they charge almost everyone the same thing... If he won't tell you, it means he's trying to squeeze more out of you.
He doesn't necessarily have to give you a quote over the phone—some doctors hate doing that—but for heaven's sake, why go for a consultation if not to see what he can do for your nose and find out the cost...

Go see someone else. Read through the old posts and check out the advice from others... there are plenty of more decent doctors in a major city like Chicago—doctors who actually care about their patients.

Thank you redridge15, I am hoping and praying to God that you are right... that photo of your new outfit is great! Patience is key, but for now, it looks completely asymmetrical just like you described in your own case.

Glumičić has done such a terrible job with Blanka Vlašić’s nose; he really botched that genius nose shape she had.
It’s been five months since my surgery, and am I satisfied?
Well, despite all my initial praise for Boriću-nisam!
A few months ago, this slight bump appeared on my nose, looking exactly like a subcutaneous pimple, and even though I’ve already gone back to see him several times for those sessions with some crappy little light device, it has actually shrunk, yet it’s still there...
It's awful!
It isn't that anyone can notice it or that it looks hideous, but since I already dropped 10 $0.00, I was hoping for a flawless result.
In the end, he didn't give me the nose I actually wanted, and now I have an additional problem to deal with
I suppose the nose sits nicely with my face and everything, but it infuriates me that he didn't respect my wishes.
And so, they tell me I have to wait a full year and keep going for these "light treatments," but it doesn't occur to me to throw another $667 at these "treatments."
I have no idea what to do about this bump... and I certainly don't plan on handing over more cash for a revision surgery..
I'll just see how it looks in a few months, then maybe try something else or go to someone else to get this removed.
I knew exactly that some bullshit like this would happen to me
Does anyone have any advice?

Someone mentioned Dr. Klapan earlier, and I honestly can't recommend him enough. He is a top-tier physician, truly an expert at what he does. However, I’d really emphasize that his work goes way beyond just aesthetics. People should go to him if they have breathing issues—and I mean serious ones—because he successfully treats and operates on them. I actually dealt with a similar issue myself. From what I’ve noticed, he rarely sees patients just looking for cosmetic tweaks; my impression is that he isn't even particularly interested in those cases compared to people facing actual health problems. Also, regarding the cost—look, it’s expensive. If someone finds it too pricey, I don't think there's much point in debating it. In my opinion, he is worth five times the price. A job done right is never "expensive," whereas a bad job is expensive no matter how little you pay for it.

Can you explain what this "light treatment" actually is and what it's supposed to do?

p.s. Blanka Vlašić had to deliver a perfect nose without any errors because she's his walking advertisement, and he knows Blanka is constantly under the public microscope.

I mean, I don't even know... some neon light therapy session ended up leaving my nose looking slightly bruised or misshapen🤷
But honestly, this isn't something I can just ignore; I’m actually quite distressed because it looks as though a bit of cartilage has shifted or something similar...
Anyway, it isn't hideous, but it is clearly visible, and I have absolutely no intention of paying out of pocket for repairs. What I really want to know is how I can pressure them into fixing this, and roughly how much longer I'll be stuck waiting...🤷
I’ve already shelled out $233 for that lighting treatment, so I certainly don't have the extra cash for a surgical correction, especially since the results from that lamp were non-existent—which makes sense if we are indeed dealing with cartilage issues

Honestly, Glumičić fixed my nose and did an incredible job!!! Look, I'm not some celebrity or anything, but I assume the people talking trash about him are just folks who have never actually been to his clinic or know anyone who has. That bad reputation mostly exists because some other surgeons went after him in the newspapers for doing body work when his actual specialty is head and neck surgery.

Most expensive. $100 Three minutes of my life I'll never get back. 😠

Look at him. He knows exactly what he's doing, or he’s just too arrogant to actually listen to his patients.
He actually spent at least 15 minutes paying attention and answered some decent questions.
At the end of the day, we're talking about a person.

Here's those three minutes. Good afternoon. Needs a rhinoplasty and a septum repair.
Run a computer simulation for me. I need to turn it in. $0.50Not until he finishes her, either.
Give me the price. 🤷 And yeah, no matter the price tag, I'm paying cash.😲 No cards. Nothing.

See ya.

Maybe we should just run a computer simulation and see how this actually plays out.
Look, just make her happen. Give it to her. $0.50So then you start haggling over the price... brrrrrr... and it’s cash only. grrrrrrrr.

Whoever wants to go for it, be my guest. I wouldn't drop that kind of cash on them. It's a total rip-off.🙏

I'm not trying to be negative toward anyone—but think about it, if he hadn't done such a great job on Blanka, he would have faced a lot of bad publicity..
I know a girl who went to see Glumičić 😁
He’s definitely the most famous one, and sure, there were a few mistakes that became public knowledge, but I honestly believe there are plenty of other doctors out there making way worse errors that nobody ever hears about... still... if he were actually a bad surgeon, there's no way he'd be as busy as he is.

Anyway, I'm really glad you're happy with the results! 👍

Sorry, I started rambling again.. 🤣 bye

Raymond Sanchez7, you should try massaging your nose every single day, specifically right where that bump is located. Try to push it inward... just a few times a day. Honestly, I feel like physically pushing that bump back in with your fingers would be way more effective for you than some kind of light therapy..

I'm curious to hear what the rest of you think about this??

I have a question. So, I’ve been sitting here thinking about surgery for quite some time now—mostly because I absolutely loathe taking photos due to my nose. It’s always the first thing people notice, and honestly, it looks like I'm walking around with a literal ball on my face. It’s just genetics, I suppose, but it really bothers me. I was wondering if anyone knows roughly how much a rhinoplasty costs, if there are any specific doctors you’d recommend, and how long the recovery process actually takes?

It depends on what you're looking for. If you just want the look, expect to drop around $1,600. It all comes down to which surgeon you pick.😉

Then again, mistakes can happen to anyone. But if they do, it feels like it should be on the surgeon to fix it at their own expense. As for how doable that actually is in practice, I guess I don't know. Did Glumičić operate on the girl you know, and is she actually satisfied?

Could someone perhaps offer a bit of guidance regarding my perfectly reasonable question and dilemma, or is everyone simply too preoccupied with Blanka to bother attempting to help?
I suppose I’m asking this with a touch of agitation, given that I am always present here whenever anyone requires assistance—not to mention the exhaustive, detailed posts I’ve composed following surgery just to support people facing the same uncertainties I once endured... yet now, it seems no one is capable of providing me with even a single response. It feels quite unfair, if I do say so myself...👎

I’m asking because I’m pretty worked up—I’m always here whenever anyone needs help. I’ve written massive, exhausting posts after surgery just to support people who were stuck, just like I was, and now nobody can even give me a straight answer. Honestly, you guys are being unfair.👎

I'd love to help you out, but I honestly don't know what to tell you. Maybe things will settle down eventually and this whole knot you're feeling will untie itself. Just hang in there for a bit.🤷

I already shelled out $233 for that light treatment, so I've got no money left for a second opinion—plus, those lights did absolutely nothing, which makes sense if we're actually talking about cartilage issues.

I'm dealing with the exact same thing. Except they didn't even bother with the light therapy or anything else—they just keep giving me the runaround, saying "we'll see" and "it's too early" blah blah blah... When I asked the doctor if I might need another surgery to fix it, he told me it's just tissue (apparently), and that they can't operate on it again—we just have to wait and see what happens. It's insane. It feels like he just took my mom's old bump, shrunk it down, moved it lower, and shifted it to the left.😂

Based on how you've described it, it sounds most likely like a lingering fragment of cartilage or bone that might require surgical removal. Alternatively, if you are feeling a hard protrusion on your nose, it could potentially be a bony callus forming at the site where the bone is healing. I honestly can't imagine what else it might be...

I actually asked my doctor if I needed another surgery to remove the tissue, but he told me that isn't an option right now. He said we just have to wait and monitor the situation. It is maddening. It feels like they just shrunk my mother's tumor, moved it lower, and shifted it to the left.😂

steelangler88, how long exactly has it been since your surgery? And did the swelling subside, besides that part in the middle?
At my first follow-up, my surgeon told me it was far too early to make any assumptions. Well, this Thursday marks exactly one month since the procedure, and I have another appointment. Honestly, no matter how much he rambles, I can't find any peace of mind because I’m experiencing the exact same thing you are. It feels like my lump was just moved to a different spot, and now my nose looks twice as wide—it used to be quite slim from the front, even with the bump, but now I look like Tyson. I have no idea what is going on. I don't have the patience to wait indefinitely just to find out if this is permanent. I am truly worried, and I hate leaving the house looking like this because I feel like people are pitying me. I mean, God knows how much I expected from this surgery and how much I paid for it.

HELP!

Honestly, I don't think anything is going to change for you. After about 6 months, the nose just settles back into its original shape. That’s just how it stays.😕😕

Raymond Wells2 and steelangler88, you guys haven't been out of surgery as long as I have. Try pressing on that bone with your fingers—it's off to the side, so just run your finger along it (downwards)
Try doing that 5 or 6 times a day and see if that little bump shrinks even a tiny bit after a few days.

That’s just my two cents...🤷

I also suspect it’s just a bony callus where the bone is healing. I had a small bump on the right side myself; you couldn't see it, but I could definitely feel it under my finger. My doctor told me it was just the fracture site knitting back together and that I should just massage my nose with my fingers... and that worked, because my bump is gone now (I noticed mine a month after the procedure, but it's been two and a half months now and it's completely vanished)

Ladies, that's my suggestion. If anyone else has ideas, please chime in!!
If you notice that the bump isn't getting any smaller, you might need to go back to that surgeon and have them shave it down.
