It could just be a hormonal cycle acting up; they can be unpredictable like that. Youโ€™re probably better off seeing a gynecologist to get a proper exam so you aren't left guessing. :-)

Rachel Torres said:Hey ladies! Last month I had some light spotting between periods, and then this month I ended up getting my actual period twice. I went for a checkup about 6 months ago and everything seemed fineโ€”though maybe the doctor didn't give me a super thorough exam. I'm definitely planning to head back in for another visit, but in the meantime, has anyone else dealt with something like this? Any guesses on what might be going on?

Whatever it is, it isn't a period. A half-period, a double-period... but it's just not a normal period! ๐Ÿ™‚

Whatโ€™s the gap between them? Look, having two periods in one month doesn't mean anything. Your cycle could be perfectly regularโ€”every 28 daysโ€”and you'd still bleed twice in a 31-day month. ๐Ÿ˜

The issue isn't how many times you started your period in a single month; it's how long your actual cycle lasts. ๐Ÿ˜

Look, Iโ€™m not clueless, okay? I wouldn't be posting this if my cycle was actually behaving itself. If my period timing were even remotely normal, I wouldn't be dealing with this... the gap between them was basically two weeks shorter than usual.

Look, I don't know how weird or hard-to-believe this sounds coming from me, but I have absolutely no clue how long your regular cycle usually lasts, let alone how long this specific one has been going on.

So, the word on the streetโ€”at least according to most OB-GYNs here in the Statesโ€”is that a totally normal cycle usually falls somewhere between 25 and 31 days. For the most part, mineโ€™s been pretty consistent, usually hitting right around the 28 to 30-day mark. If things shift outside that little window, it's usually just a case of it being slightly shorter or longer than usual...๐Ÿ™‚

My cycles are fairly regular, for what it's worth.

Last time I was intimate was somewhere around mid-September.
After that, my cycle came back in October, November, and December.

The funds were due by January 3rd. Sometimes thereโ€™s a two-day lag, so I usually just aim for the 5th to be safe.

Itโ€™s the 11th already. Still nothing.

Is there any chance I could be pregnant, even after missing three periods?

Had some breast pain a few days ago. Felt like my period was imminent, but nothing happened.

Any idea what we're looking at here?

The last time I had sex was around mid-September.
Since then, Iโ€™ve had my period in October, November, and December.

It was supposed to arrive on January 3rd (though sometimes it's a couple days late, so maybe January 5th).

It's already the 11th and still nothing.

Is pregnancy even a possibility if I've already had three periods?

A few days ago, I had those cramps you get right before your period starts, but nothing happened.

What else could this be?

I've spent enough time studying these topics to weigh in on just about anything.๐Ÿ˜

What were those last three periods like?
It's generally accepted that a woman can have three periods and still be pregnant...
Everyone loves to play it safe, but I'll give you the quickest answer: just take a pregnancy test.๐Ÿ™‚

It was the exact same thing for meโ€”that day when Iโ€™m expecting it to show up, Iโ€™ve got all the usual symptoms lined up, but then nothing happens, just total silence๐Ÿ˜ฒ
After a few days pass, my cycle finally kicks in normally without any of those warning signs๐Ÿ˜ฒ
But honestly, I couldn't deal with the suspense anymore, so I ended up taking a pregnancy test just because I ran out of patience and needed some peace of mind

Everyoneโ€™s always being vague about it, but I'll just give you the quickest answer: pee on the test.๐Ÿ™‚

The periods were normal. Not shorter, not lighter. Just regular.

A few days...๐Ÿคท Mine's already been late for a week.

Look, Iโ€™m telling you, it could be a few daysโ€”maybe three, maybe seven, who actually knows? Honestly, just go grab a kit from CVS and you'll have your answer in three minutes flat. But hey, don't let me stop you if you're too straaaaaaaaaaaaaah to face the music.๐Ÿ˜

Your cycle probably just threw you a curveball this month ๐Ÿ˜‰
but if you want to be certain, just take a pregnancy test and end the guesswork

Itโ€™s likely nothing to worry about. It could just be a temporary hormonal imbalance or something similar. Besides, if you were actually pregnant, your period wouldn't have disappeared this early, and you would have been experiencing other symptoms by now. Don't stress too much; once your period finally shows up, you'll probably find yourself frustrated that you spent all this time worrying about nothing. ๐Ÿ™‚

Well, here I am again๐Ÿ™„
Honestly, I feel like Iโ€™m losing my mind; itโ€™s day twelve, my stomach is bloated like Iโ€™m expecting a baby, and everything just hurts! Could it possibly be linked to the stress I've been dealing with lately, considering it's been hitting me non-stop?
I know I really ought to schedule an appointment with my OB-GYN, but the discomfort just won't let up, and it is absolutely miserable!๐Ÿ˜

Totally agree...
Sometimes Iโ€™ll take some a few days earlyโ€”right before my period hitsโ€”and either the pain is non-existent or it's barely even noticeable ๐Ÿ™‚

I honestly envy you; I actually started my period a few days early this time, but it hasn't let up at all, and now Iโ€™m dealing with an even heavier flow on top of a migraine that just wouldn't quit for eight straight days, possibly because of those pills ๐Ÿคท
. Honestly, I might as well just go into labor ๐Ÿ˜โ€”you know how people always say that once you have a baby, your cramps just disappear forever? ๐Ÿ˜›

I used to deal with absolutely brutal periodsโ€”the kind where Iโ€™d actually pass out from the pain. My gynecologist ended up putting me on AB Diane 35, and honestly, itโ€™s been a game changer; the cramps aren't nearly as debilitating now, though I still grab a Ketorolac on that first day just to be safe. Iโ€™ve heard there are actually Ketorolac injections available, so it might be worth looking into. Apparently, for one of my friends, that's the only thing that actually touches the pain.
