Thanks for looking out for me and for the input, πŸ‘, but it’s really not true that I’m being careless. I was honestly just joking around 😬 ...it's not like I've lost my mind and think I can find actual medical advice on a forum like this 🀣 . I just wanted to see what other women were thinking about it and if they actually use these methods in their own lives.

Nah, you came here specifically looking for ways to push back your period πŸ™‚...

Alright, here’s the deal... I’ve got a beach trip coming up on August 7th, and I am fully prepared to deal with anything *except* my period during that time. Seriously. So... I'm looking for ways to either push it back entirely or maybe just speed things along if that's even a thing? Does anyone know which pills I should be looking for? Like, when do I need to start taking them, and what’s the daily dosage look like?πŸ˜•

Are you currently taking any oral contraceptives?

hm.. they have some pills that might speed things up for you.. but you'd definitely need to head over to the Mayo Clinic to get some actual advice

So you want to skip your period but you aren't exactly down for birth control? Wellβ€”I guess you could always just find someone to get you pregnant instead.

Haha, oh thanks a lot... real helpful...
But look, I *was* actually taking the pill, but I had to stop because the side effects were just too much. So yeah... I'm kind of in a holding pattern right now.

I’m not entirely certain how one would go about delaying ovulation without being on oral contraceptives. I suspect there might be some options available, but you really ought to consult with a physicianβ€”and honestly, you’ll likely need a prescription regardless.

Honestly, you really shouldn't mess around with that stuff! It’s not like the world is ending just because you happen to be on your period while you're at the beachβ€”just use a tampon and call it a day. Okay, maybe that doesn't solve *every* single problem... 😬

Look, take me for example. I was on birth control for four years straight, and I am never, ever touching it again. It seriously messed me up; my cycle would just delay itself constantly, and one time I didn't get my period for seven whole months. I actually had to take hormones just to jumpstart it, then after I stopped taking them, it just disappeared again... It was honestly such a nightmare. Now, my cycle comes every 40-something days, and it seems to get later every single time. First it was 32 days, then 35, then 38, then 42, then 45... I have absolutely no clue what I'm in for.

And yeah, I went through every single test and screening they asked for, and everything came back fine.

I'm 27 years old.

I really think people shouldn't play games with things that are perfectly natural. It feels like nowadays everyone treats this stuff way too lightly, if you know what I mean (is that even a word? πŸ€”) ...it's just a bit reckless, I guess.

The instructions provided with the package cover all the necessary details.
They retail for about five dollars at most pharmacies.
They are manufactured by Bayer.
It is important to note that these are not intended for use as contraception.

but I was on the pill and had to stop because of some side effects, so.. I need a little break...

So you'd actually risk those nasty side effects from synthetic hormones just to avoid leaking at the beach? 😲 Get your head in the gameβ€”just grab a tampon and go.

I figured I’d better ask you all since you ladies always seem to be way more informed than I am about this stuff anyway!😍

So, I took the morning-after pill recently, and thenβ€”get thisβ€”I ended up getting my period exactly ten days after my last one had already finished. Can someone please make sense of this for me?!

So... I'm heading to the beach on August 7th and I really need my period to not happen then. I want to either delay it or maybe speed it up if that's even possible. What kind of pills should I be taking? When do I start, and what's the daily dosage?

It seems you're cutting it a bit close with the hormonal manipulation. Honestly, looking at the other smart women on this forum, trying to perform some kind of medical magic just ten days before hitting the coast isn't exactly the brightest move. Is a little spotting and using a tampon really such a massive catastrophe? Or did you have some other, shall we say... specific plans that a period would ruin?

Has it occurred to you to perhaps postpone your vacation? πŸ™„

I have a question of my own! 😬 I’m currently in a long-distance relationship, and since I’ll only be seeing my partner for a few days toward the end of the month, I’m planning to "play ball" during our visit. 😠 I take birth control, so I was wonderingβ€”for anyone here who has dealt with thisβ€”how "wise" would it be to extend my pill cycle by an extra week instead of taking the usual seven-day break? That way, I could just stick to the pills and skip the standard pause. It seems a bit counterproductive to deal with a period right when we finally get some time together at the beach. πŸ™‚
