How old are you? It’s totally possible your cycle just hasn't found its rhythm yet. Seriously, don't stress about it. Mine has been running late by 35 or even 40 days before... don't worry, be happy!

Could this be a mild case of PCOS? Or have they moved away from using that diagnosis altogether?

Well, they told me my ovaries aren't even polycystic.🤷
Honestly, I’m just terrified about whether I’ll ever be able to have kids—that's easily my biggest fear right now. Every single one of those doctors tries to convince me there's nothing to worry about, but man, how am I supposed to just switch off that anxiety?😢
Has anyone else here dealt with this kind of uncertainty and actually managed to conceive naturally and go on to have a healthy baby?

So, I'm 23, turning 24 soon, and my cycle is being a total perfectionist again—it hits right on schedule every 28 days like clockwork. Honestly, I have zero clue what happened last month because I was actually late for once. 🙂

But I'm still terrified about whether I'll ever be able to have children—that’s honestly my biggest fear. Every doctor I've seen tries to reassure me that there's nothing to worry about, but how am I supposed to just turn off that anxiety?😢

I'm not sure if this helps, but here goes...
My sister struggled with PCOS and a whole host of other issues, yet she has two beautiful, healthy kids born completely naturally without any medical intervention.
Then there's a close friend of mine who also dealt with PCOS and major irregularities—she was lucky if she even had a period twice a year—but she has three healthy children now (the third via IVF). In short, there is plenty of reason to be hopeful.
Both of them were just as scared as you are that they might never become mothers, but I know exactly how heavy that weight feels.

It’s probably just stress. Stress can totally throw your cycle out of whack. If this is just a one-time thing, don't sweat it too much. But if it keeps happening, a gynecologist can definitely prescribe something to get everything back on track. You'll be fine.👍

I’m leaning towards it being stress, honestly. Because back when I was seeing this girl—and let’s get one thing straight right now so nobody gets the wrong idea, I’m very much single, don't worry—we actually thought she was pregnant. Her period was late by like two weeks or something. And then when it finally showed up, we were all just relieved, you know? So my advice is just... wait. Just hang tight. If your stomach starts actually growing, then maybe start asking yourself some real questions.

Mine was 15 days late once—way past when I expected it—and then nothing. Went to my OB-GYN, they put me on Provera, and five days later, it finally showed up.

Hormones are wild—they always find a way to catch you off guard.

Patrick Cruz26 said:I honestly think stress plays a huge part too. When I was dating my ex—and just to be clear, I’m single now, don't worry!—we went through this where she was late by a few weeks. We were both so stressed thinking she might be pregnant. Once her period finally showed up, we were so relieved. So yeah, just hang in there. Wait it out. If your stomach starts growing, then you'll have your answer.

Help me out here—what exactly are you even doing in a discussion about periods?😕

Patrick Cruz26 said:I’m telling you, I really think stress is the culprit here. Trust me on this one. Back when I was seeing this girl—and yeah, she's my ex, just so we don't all start thinking I've actually got someone on my arm right now, don't worry, I'm single—I was absolutely convinced she was pregnant. She was late by like, two weeks or something. We were both totally freaking out, waiting for the hammer to drop. Then her period finally showed up and we were both just relieved as hell. So, seriously, just hang tight. Just wait it out. Look, if you wake up one morning and realize your gut is starting to stick out, don't just ignore it or grab a bigger shirt. You really need to sit down and take a hard look at yourself. Seriously, ask yourself what's actually going on. Is it just that extra slice of deep-dish pizza from Domino's every night? Or maybe you've been hitting the craft beers a little too hard on the weekends? It’s easy to blame everything else, but usually, when the belly starts creeping out, it's a direct signal from your body that you've been slacking. I remember back in Chicago, I used to think I was fine until I realized I was basically living on fast food and soda for three months straight, and man, let me tell you, the consequences showed up real quick. So yeah, if that stomach is growing, stop making excuses and start asking those tough questions.

😲

This is just straight-up terrifying... honestly, you’re living in the Stone Age. It’s just like that ex of yours who sat around doing absolutely nothing for an entire month waiting for things to happen. Like, seriously? You can find a CVS or a Walgreens on basically every single street corner in America, and pregnancy tests are everywhere. There's zero excuse for this kind of nonsense.

Oh, please... what kind of ailments were you just going on about up there? I’ve been dealing with this cycle—now that I’m in my mid-twenties—every three or four months like clockwork. And frankly? I’m not losing any sleep over it. It isn't going to kill me. And even if it does? Whatever.

Guys, I need some help......
I had unprotected sex on day 28 of my cycle... which was yesterday... and my period hasn't arrived yet. Usually, it shows up around day 26 or 27. I know those days are supposed to be my non-fertile window, but I'm still feeling a little anxious about it...

Amy Cooper51 said:Oh please, what "illnesses" were you even talking about up there? Honestly, I've been dealing with this (now that I'm in my mid-twenties) every three or four months like clockwork. It doesn't bother me, and it's not like I'm gonna drop dead or anything. If I do, whatever.

Honey, if you actually took a second to educate yourself, you'd realize I wasn't throwing around words like "illnesses," but I was talking about actual medical conditions that can mess with your cycle—things that could be hormonal or related to your organs. 😲

And you’re just sitting there with an irregular cycle like it's nothing? It never crossed your mind to maybe see an OB-GYN to check if you have PCOS or some kind of hormonal imbalance from a thyroid issue or something?

It honestly breaks my heart seeing young women these days just totally ignore their own health and bodies when we literally have everything at our fingertips, from top-tier doctors to all kinds of medicine. Look, I'm not trying to scare you or say you're dying, but having delays like that isn't "normal," and you really should get checked out by a specialist. It might turn out to be nothing, sure, but it could also be anything.

Is it actually possible to delay things using those Trinovum tablets?

Every month when my period hits, it honestly feels like I'm dying. The first couple of days are the absolute worst; I can't even get out of bed, and I end up throwing up five or six times a day. I can't keep any food down at all. Last time, I actually ended up passing out and needing the ER. I’m lost. I’ve tried every painkiller under the sun—Advil, Aleve, Motrin—but nothing touches the pain. My neighbor happens to be a nurse, so she sometimes stops by to give me an injection to help, which provides a little relief, but she says she can't do it all the time because it’s too hard on my system. It used to be manageable back when I was seeing someone regularly, but now it’s become unbearable. I can't even make it to my college lectures because of the pain. My doctor just tells me this is "normal" and that most women deal with some discomfort, but I really feel like I'm in a much worse category than most.
Does anyone know if there are specific teas, different medications, or maybe certain therapies that could actually help ease this misery? 😢

Look, you’ve basically got three moves here:
find yourself a boyfriend,
just grab a vibrator online,
or head to the doctor and tell them you need something for the pain.☕ So yeah,
your call.

Hold on, hold on, hold on... have you actually gone through the motions of getting an ultrasound, running those marker tests, checking your hormone levels, and all that other necessary diagnostic work?

It is only once you have exhausted those clinical avenues that we can even begin to entertain the notion of alternative methods. One cannot meaningfully discuss alternatives until they have confirmed that this pain is truly an enigma of unknown origin.

Edit: Your doctor is being completely dismissive; nothing about experiencing pain should ever be considered "normal."

lol I was actually hoping for this answer so I could finally find a boyfriend 😁

@stormymaker24/">@@stormymaker24 I haven't tried any of those. My doctor just tells me to take Advil, but people seem to eat them like candy, so they don't really do much for me

Just figured I’d jump in here and vent for a second too. My period just started and honestly... I am dying over here. The cramps are brutal, feeling nauseous, everything just hurts... I managed to knock back two Advil and now I'm finally heading to bed. 😢 😢 😢
