I went through something very similar, where my cycle started getting significantly shorter
At first, I figured it was just stress, but looking back, I don't think that was actually the case
After about five months of dealing with it—basically having my period every two weeks—I finally decided to see a doctor and get on some birth control to help stabilize my hormones
It might be a similar situation for you, too, especially considering how much your hormone levels could be affected by the weight fluctuations you've been managing

I suppose it might be best to just wait and see when your next one arrives—whether it's on schedule or comes early—and then you can make an informed decision about seeing a doctor based on that

I’ve been on Celest for about a year now, and honestly, everything has been smooth sailing up until this point—my period usually lasts around four or five days. But right now? I’m on day eight and it’s still going strong, feeling just as heavy as the first couple of days. :O It doesn't feel like it's tapering off at all, which is wild because this has never happened once since I started the pill. Aren't these things supposed to regulate your cycle so you don't deal with stuff like this? I'm pretty confused :S ... does anyone know what could be causing this?

Hey there!
kirota, reading your post actually made my heart ache—I know exactly what you’ve been going through...
I finally managed to get my own issues under control using some noni fruit oil, so if that helps any of you out, why not share it? It’s all plant-based, but man, does it work!

Really hoping this helps someone else out there.
Take care,

Hi

I've been on the pill—Logest—and my period has always arrived right on schedule.
Yesterday was supposed to be the day, but nothing happened. Then last night, I started feeling these sharp pains in my ovaries. I figured my period had finally started, but when I checked this morning, still nothing. The pain is pretty intense, though, and it doesn't really let up until I take some Advil.
We only had sex twice this month, and he didn't even finish inside, so I'm assuming pregnancy isn't really the issue here. I have been under a lot of stress lately, but I guess I just keep overthinking it.😁

Does anyone know what might be causing this, or has anyone dealt with something similar? It’s kind of creeping me out because my cycle has never been late like this before.🤷 ????

That happened to me a few times while I was on the pill—cramps and everything, but no period.🤷I'd just go to my doctor and they'd give me something to get things moving.☕

So, last Thursday I started this three-day course of vaginal tablets and cream for a yeast infection. Everything was going fine until my period showed up... well, it "showed up," but it doesn't feel like my actual period at all? It’s super weird, almost like it’s just stuck or won't fully come out, you know what I mean? Plus, I can see bits of those leftover tablets mixed in with the discharge. It makes me wonder—can those little tablets actually mess with my cycle or slow things down enough to make it late?

Has anyone else dealt with this, or is it even possible???

Hey ladies, I’ve got a bit of a question for the group. I’ve been on Yasmin for quite a while now—originally I started them just to get my irregular cycles under control, but lately, they’ve basically been serving as my primary birth control. So, here’s the deal: I took the first pill from my most recent pack on February 13th, and normally I’d expect my period to show up after about 24 days. Instead, it decided to drop in on day 20, even though I still had two pills left to take in the pack. I went ahead and finished those last two, and now I’m just waiting for this period to finally wrap up. It feels like it's dragging on longer than usual (I'm on day 8 now!), though the flow itself has actually been lighter than what I typically experience... Any idea why my body might be acting a little wonky like this?

If I remember correctly, you take Yasmin for 21 days and then have a 7-day break—at least, that’s how it worked when I was on them. Of course, some people just go straight through all 28 days without any pause.
For me, my period would always start right after I finished the pills during that break (though I can't quite recall the exact day anymore). But honestly? If you're on your 21st pill and your bleeding started on day 20, I'd say you're probably fine. It might just be stress or something else messing with your system. If this bleeding lasts longer than 10 days, though, I’d definitely call an OB-GYN and ask what's going on. Otherwise, if it's only about 8 days, I don't think it's cause for alarm, especially if it's light. That happened to me a few times too—about 8 days, but really light.
And naturally, it's not unusual if it happens again, like if you get it on day 20 now when it used to show up on day 24.
But look, it should be written in the instructions somewhere. I'm not entirely sure, 🤔—you really ought to check—

So, my cycle usually hits right on day 24, every single month since I started tracking them, but this time things are totally thrown off—it showed up way earlier than expected. Up until yesterday, I was dealing with some brownish spotting and just this weird, uncomfortable sensation in my lower abdomen, so I went ahead and booked an appointment with my OB-GYN. I’m heading in tomorrow morning to see what's actually going on.

Hey there,

So, I’m 22 and my period has been dragging on for about 14 days now—though it's just a tiny bit of spotting every day. Honestly, nothing hurts at all! I actually went swimming the second day and had sex, too... so I was wondering if anyone else here has dealt with something similar or knows what might be going on? I’m definitely planning to head to my gynecologist if things don't get back to normal soon...

Go see an OB-GYN. I went through something almost identical once. They gave me some pills—I think they were progesterone—took them for about five days, and then my period finally hit properly. My cycles have been a bit wonky since then.

Your hormones probably just got a little out of whack.

My period finally showed up this past Saturday. It usually runs me about six or seven days, so I’m expecting to be done by next Saturday.
The problem is, I have something coming up this Thursday, and there is absolutely no way I want to be dealing with this right now.
Does anyone know if there's actually anything you can do to speed things up or shorten the cycle?
Just a heads up, I can't use tampons for whatever reason...

Linda Wells said:I actually dragged myself all the way to campus to get my enrollment finished while I was still physically capable of walking. I practically begged them to let me skip the line because I felt so sick, but even then, I had to wait a bit. By the time I finally got to the front, everything had already gone south.
The reaction from people there really strikes me, because they saw the state I was in. I was genuinely struggling just to stay upright in my chair without collapsing, and within five minutes, I’d completely lost control of my bladder—I was likely pale too, though I couldn't see myself, but I certainly didn't look okay. Yet, there she was, acting like it was nothing, questioning me about how and why it happened.
The only saving grace was that my friend happened to be in town, right near my workplace when I needed to leave, so she came with me and sorted out a ride. Because by the time I dealt with that registration mess, I barely made it out of the building before hitting the first patch of grass, throwing up, and collapsing on the ground. After that, I was done.
Out of the entire crowd of people present, only one girl had the decency to approach me and ask if I needed help or if I needed her to call 911.
Am I getting off track?

Kirota, I dealt with those exact same pains. Another user on this forum recommended Black Cohosh capsules to me a while back, and I am in complete agreement with her🙂. Give it a try! They worked for me too—the pain is gone, and even my cycle has become more regular. When I think about all those years I spent debilitating myself with cheap over-the-counter painkillers and destroying my stomach lining...🙂.

I’ve been on Logest for about three and a half years now, and up until recently, my cycle was always clockwork.

But over the last three months, things have gone completely off the rails. My period keeps showing up late, and when it finally does, it barely lasts three days. This time, it was three days late, and the whole thing lasted just one single day—and honestly, there was hardly any bleeding at all, just a tiny little spot about half an inch wide. I’m feeling a bit lost here. I’m supposed to start a new pack tomorrow, but I can't help wondering... is this kind of shift normal?

I have a question regarding Zithromax tablets... Due to a gynecological infection, my partner and I both took one tablet daily for three days. This occurred roughly mid-cycle. My period was expected between March 17th and 20th, yet it is now four days late. In all my experience, it has only ever been delayed once before, due to stress. I am certain I am not pregnant (we had a single encounter and used a condom), but I have felt quite strange over the last two days—a sense of heaviness and bloating, lethargy, and occasional aching in my lower back and thighs, though nothing severe. I suspect it is merely PMS, but I wonder if any of you have experienced a cycle shift after taking Zithromax?

I’ve been dealing with my period for over 15 years now, and it’s usually pretty predictable—about 4 or 5 days total. Usually, those first 2 or 3 days are really heavy, then it tapers off for the last couple of days until it finally stops, and the flow is almost always this deep, dark red color.

My most recent period actually showed up right on schedule, but it was incredibly light... honestly, it felt like I skipped the heavy first three days entirely, and the blood was much lighter in color, too. Should I be worried about this?

About 2 or 3 months ago, my husband and I started actively trying to conceive... I’m not sure if it’s just stress or something psychological playing tricks on me, but ever since then, I’ve been feeling this weird discomfort—kind of a pressure and occasional sharp pains right around my right ovary area. My last period was also about 15 days late, which is huge because it’s usually never late, but even though this current one arrived on time, it just doesn't feel "normal" compared to how it usually goes.

Any thoughts?

I have a question. After being on birth control for quite some time, I decided to quit. Since then, my period has been a mess—it was a month and a half late, and now it’s vanished entirely. My last actual period was back in September of last year. I went to see a gynecologist who performed an ultrasound and diagnosed me with polycystic ovaries, subsequently prescribing Duphaston. Those tablets did trigger a period, but about a month after that, I experienced some very light spotting. That was the first month. Since then? Nothing. Because I am determined not to go back on medication, I tried drinking Ginekol tea for three weeks, and then a pharmacist recommended a Chasteberry tincture.

Has anyone here actually used these and seen results? I realize everyone’s body reacts differently, but I am holding out hope that I can get my cycle back on track using more natural methods.

So, last month I was supposed to go in for some fertility testing—you know, the whole works—but before they could even get started, my doctor insisted on doing a Pap smear first. Turns out, the results came back positive for a bacterial infection, so they put both me and my husband on a course of DOXYCYCLINE 100mg. We finished the whole round, but things have gotten messy because my period showed up way earlier than expected... and now I'm totally lost on how to track my cycle. On April 8th, I just had this tiny little spotting, and today, April 13th, it feels like my period is actually wrapping up. I’m feeling pretty stuck here... any advice?

So, this is the second month in a row where my period has been super light. It’s lasting the usual amount of days, just... underwhelming, if you know what I mean. My PMS symptoms are totally normal, business as usual, and now that it's actually started, the cramps are hitting me just like they always do. Anyone else dealt with this? AND NO, I AM NOT PREGNANT!!!

If you aren't pregnant, why even worry? Personally, whenever I'm stressed or on a diet, my flow gets light. There are endless things that can cause this. Plus, if you're on birth control, spotting happens all the time.😉
