Hi everyone...
I’m honestly at my wit's end with the worrying, so I figured I'd reach out and see if anyone has had similar experiences or can offer some perspective...
My last period was perfectly normal back on February 28th...
Then, on March 27th, I started seeing this light pink spotting—it felt just like all my usual PMS symptoms.
By March 28th, it turned a light brown color and then just stopped.
I took a pregnancy test this past Friday, and it came back negative.
I should mention that I’ve been dealing with strep throat lately; I’ve been taking Zithromax, though I don't think it's cleared things up since my throat still hurts...
I read somewhere that these kinds of infections can sometimes migrate to the ovaries.
I find myself posting here quite often because I get these sharp pains in my ovaries pretty frequently... plus there's this heavy feeling in my stomach after I eat, though I'm not sure if that's even related.
Now I'm just a nervous wreck—I can't tell if it's pure anxiety or if it's just the anticipation of my next period, assuming it even decides to show up.
Part of me thinks I'm not pregnant, but the fear is still there.
I've read that tests aren't always 100% reliable.
Life has been a constant grind lately—stressful, exhausting, managing two kids, we're perpetually catching every cold going around, and I am chronically sleep-deprived...
I'm just so confused; my cycle is usually late but stays regular, so this whole situation feels off...
Can anyone please help me make sense of this?!

Hey everyone. New here, but I've got a question—is anyone else dealing with something weird like this? 😁 I’ve had painful periods for about 7 or 8 years now, but for the last 6, they've been absolutely brutal. Without painkillers, I could seriously take a sick day from work. 😁 Here’s the thing: the first day hurts, but it’s just standard cramping—manageable. Once things start flowing, the pain settles down. On the second day, I feel bloated and the pain comes in waves, but I just pop a pill so it doesn't spiral, especially since my job involves being on my feet all day. But here is what drives all my friends crazy—for me, the worst, most intense pain happens on the LAST day. It's much worse than day one or two. It’s this dull, stabbing sensation that makes me feel like my ovaries are going to burst, and the pain radiates into my groin and down my legs. I have to take something immediately just to get relief. Then, after the pain subsides, I pass some small blood clots and that’s it for the month. My doctor says it's totally normal, but my friends are baffled—they can't wrap their heads around why the last day would be the hardest. Honestly, I don't get it either, but that's my reality. Anyone else have these "weird" pain patterns? My flow is regular, lasts 4-5 days, and shows up right on schedule. No kids, no miscarriages, regular checkups, and I'm healthy, aside from some minor infections I cleared up last year. 🙂

Hey guys, help!
I've got a bit of a situation. My periods have always been totally all over the place—either they're super heavy and painful (we're talking vomiting and diarrhea levels of bad) or they're just practically non-existent. I actually missed my last one entirely, which honestly isn't even that shocking since I've had massive gaps before. I went to see my family doctor about it, and she just prescribed some folic acid and told me not to sweat it because it’s "normal" at my age and that I just need to chill out and lower my stress levels. For context, I was the absolute last girl in my middle school class to start my period. Back then, I was... let's just say, painfully skinny... haha...

The thing is, I'm low-key terrified to go back to the clinic. My regular doctor is out on maternity leave right now, and instead, I'm stuck with this rookie resident who basically gave me a lecture when I only swung by to grab a referral for a dermatologist appointment. 🙄

Right now, the main issue is that my stomach has been hurting for ages and I seriously cannot control my appetite (I've gone from 135 lbs to 145 lbs in just two weeks 🙂). I'm 17. I am genuinely lost on what to do... And, just for the sake of being thorough, I've never even slept with anyone...

Okay, I need some help here. My period started today, but by this evening, the bleeding had already stopped. I just took my first pill of Lyndete today. I did a pregnancy test a couple of days ago and it was negative. Honestly, I’m under an incredible amount of stress right now—on top of everything else, this happening too. I had all the usual PMS symptoms except for the pain, though today the pain is so bad I can barely walk.🤷I feel like I'm losing my mind.🙂I should mention that exactly twelve days ago, I noticed this yellowish-white discharge—it was pretty sticky—and then the very next day, my breasts started hurting and my nipples became really sore and sensitive. This has been happening to me for about six months now. Is that a sign of ovulation? Interestingly, once the bleeding started today, the breast and nipple pain just vanished. I went in for a checkup at the Gynae office two weeks ago and everything seemed fine. The doctor thought she saw something on my left ovary at first, but then she told me everything looked okay. Two days after that appointment, I had some brownish discharge.

So, I have what might be a slightly silly question for you all... I’ve got some big plans lined up for this coming weekend, but my period decided to show up last night. Usually, it lasts about five or six days, but I was wondering if there's any way to speed things up or maybe even stop it so I can just enjoy the weekend without a care in the world. By the way, I was reading up on how to delay it a few days ago and stumbled upon a thread suggesting that taking Duphaston a couple of days before your period starts can help push it back. Just so you know, that didn't work for me 🙂 I would be so incredibly grateful if anyone could point me in the right direction...

Every time I hop in the shower, my period either stops or gets way lighter. Basically, I have to wear a tampon just to shower.🙂

Here’s the situation: my period is super short and light—not that I’m complaining, since I’m on birth control, so that explains the low flow. But that’s not even the issue. My actual problem is that despite being so light, the blood seems to clot way too fast. It’s happened during my last four or five cycles, but never before this. I don't even know how to describe it properly—it’s like it doesn't even have time to exit my body before it thickens, so it just... hangs there. It’s a mess. Then I have to struggle just to physically push it out. There’s some blood on the pad, sure, but why isn't the rest flowing out normally?! And it’s much darker, almost black, compared to how it used to be.
What is causing this?! It’s driving me crazy 😢

I have a quick question 🙂 I'm 16, and I actually got my very first period back in September of last year. Since then, things haven't really been "normal." Instead of a regular period, almost every month right around when I should be bleeding, I get this heavy, dark—almost black—discharge. It’s quite a lot, too. Nothing hurts, which is a relief, but I can't help feeling a little worried about it... Any advice? 😕😕

I’m not entirely sure if this has been brought up before, but I figured I’d ask anyway. I’m nearly 18, and my cycle just decided to throw me a curveball—it showed up a full week early, and now I’m on day 18 or 19 of this continuous mess. I have an appointment scheduled with my Gynae soon, but has anyone else dealt with something like this? Honestly, I’m pretty shaken up and completely lost as to what might be causing this or what kind of news I should be bracing for...

Is it actually normal to run a bit of a fever right before and during your period? I’m on day two today and my temperature is sitting at about 99.3.

It’s totally normal to run a slightly higher temperature... I honestly have no idea why it happens, but it’s always been like that for me, and from what I know, a lot of other women deal with the exact same thing too...

I’m honestly pretty worried here.
My period usually wraps up in about 3 days. This month was the same—it lasted 3 days—but then I’ve been spotting for 3 days straight after that. It’s enough that every time I hit the restroom, there’s blood on the paper. It looks pretty light, too.

Hey ladies, I started a thread about this already, but I figured I’d run it by you all too.
I keep getting this pain in my groin—one month it’s on the left, the next it’s the right—usually lasting about 17 to 20 days after Miss B. Is that actually ovulation or what??? There's a better breakdown of this over here, so please, if anyone can help me make sense of it, I'd really appreciate it.
Thanks

I’m currently on Lindanet 20 and I’m looking to push my period back by a few days. So, I was wondering—if I just keep taking the pills from an extra pack for as long as I need to delay things, is that how it works? Then, after that final extra pill, do I just start a brand new pack a week later to kick off the next cycle like usual? Or am I supposed to wait a different number of days after those extra ones are gone?

So, how does ibuprofen actually work when it comes to period blood? I see people recommending it to lighten things up—and yeah, it definitely works for a lot of women—but doesn't it also thin out your blood at the same time?!

I’m wondering if there are any reliable "old wives' tales" or home remedies to jumpstart a period. I’m three days late, though I find it hard to believe pregnancy is the culprit since I just had my routine checkup with my OB-GYN a few days ago, and we've only had one protected encounter since then. I did recently start a new diet, so perhaps that's what's throwing things off? Regardless, I haven't felt any PMS symptoms, nor am I feeling anything now...

Just give it a few more days; starting a diet can definitely mess with your cycle. If you're looking for ways to speed things up, some people swear by Vitamin C, strong parsley tea, even certain herbal supplements, or fennel tea...

That’s weird. 😁
Since fennel tea is actually supposed to help *stop* bleeding.🤷

It’s likely just stress, but I suppose I let it get to me a bit too much since it only happened once during my first pregnancy. 🙂I took a test and it came back negative. I guess there's nothing left to do but wait, or maybe just call up a bartender at a local pub...

I was hoping I could pick the ladies on here for some advice... or maybe someone can just help me make sense of what the hell is going on... (Look, I know the smart move is to see my doctor and I fully intend to, but I’m stuck waiting for an appointment, so in the meantime...)

So, I'm 43, and my cycle has always been pretty predictable. During the summer, things tend to get a little heavier or even show up more frequently than usual, but that's been my baseline for years and my doctor always told me it's totally within the normal range. But here’s the thing that’s got me tripping out: I had my "normal" period about ten days ago, but then yesterday I noticed this tiny bit of spotting that has me completely confused, especially since there wasn't any of that usual mucus or "clumping" I normally deal with. It's just this light bleeding... nothing heavy, just enough that I need to wear a pad. I'm honestly starting to stress—what could this actually be? Has anyone else gone through something similar lately? 😢
