hey 👋

I have a bit of a question... whenever I finish posting in a thread and my comment happens to be the very last one, I click the link at the bottom of the page to head back to the main list. Usually, that thread jumps straight to the top of the list and the text turns unbolded, but lately, this weird thing keeps happening:


Basically, the text doesn't unbold; it stays looking bolded, almost as if the system hasn't registered that I was actually the last person to post. And then, when I try to use the little arrow icon to jump straight to the first unread post, it just lands me right back on my own comment. I guess I'm just wondering why it does that when it’s clearly my post 😕
(this thread about the last thing you guys bought is just an example)

Maybe you replied to a thread without scrolling all the way to the last page, so Reddit thinks there’s actually something new to see? Or perhaps someone just dropped a comment right before you did.
Or maybe the site just glitched out on you for a second. 😁

I was doing a little digging and it looks like in some instances people have gone with that second option—like someone just before me—but most seem to be leaning toward this third one 🤣

You really need to grab an add-on for Firefox that blocks ads and banners—AdBlock is probably your best bet.

Anyone know if there’s a way to drop multiple pics into one post so they show up as clickable thumbnails you can blow up later?

Look, if you can find a thumbnail somewhere, you’ll usually get a snippet of code right alongside it to drop onto Reddit. It typically looks something like this:

From there, you just stack them one after another...

Yes.

But you don't actually have to do that "manual" work yourself. Pretty much every image host automatically creates thumbnails from uploaded images. Most of them even hand you the ready-to-go Reddit code for clickable thumbnails right away.

Also, when I'm starting a new thread, what am I supposed to actually put in that little box where it says-

separate tags using a comma

you can change your avatar whenever you want, like, a ton of times
and that " separate tags using a comma " part? You don't really have to put anything there. It's just for keywords so people can actually find your thread when they search the forum.

You may change it as often as you desire; however, please consider that your digital identity on this platform is closely tied to your avatar, much like how a regular at a local diner is recognized by their signature hat. As long as the imagery remains respectful and avoids offensive content, there is no restriction.

As for the tags, they serve as keywords intended to help users search for specific topics, though in my experience, they don't seem to provide an overwhelming amount of practical utility.
