It's doable. They don't even have to be in the same subforum. As long as the thread isn't locked, you're fine.

Just hit Quote on the post you want to cite. Once the editor pops up, grab that text and copy it. Then, head over to the specific topic where you want to post the quote. Hit Post Reply. When the editor opens there, just paste what you copied. It's basic copy/paste.

You can technically do it with locked threads too, but it's a bigger headache.

Here is a little Taylor tutorial on how to customize your links. If you want to post a link on the forum but don't want the raw URL showing, here is the method. For instance: I could post this link http://www.forum.com/newtopic.php?do=newtopic&f=106, but instead of displaying those long characters, I'd prefer a hyperlink like HERE or CLICK that directs you to the destination just as effectively as posting this: http://www.forum.com/newtopic.php?do=newtopic&f=106.

First, follow these steps:

Select either New Topic or Reply and the text editor box will appear.

Inside the editor, type the specific word you want people to clickβ€”for example, "Click."

Once you have typed CLICK, highlight the word by clicking and dragging your mouse cursor over it.

With the word highlighted, look at the formatting toolbar (where you see B, U, etc.); the 11th icon in the row is a small planet icon. Click that.

After clicking the planet, a small rectangular input field will pop up.

In that field, paste the actual URL.

Hit OK, and your highlighted word will now function as an interactive button that takes users to your specified location.

Note:

If anything remains unclear, feel free to reach out via private message HERE.

I am not a forum moderator, but I work extensively with Bulletin forumsβ€”I simply want to be helpful. πŸ‘

Is it just me, or is it impossible to send private messages to banned users? I guess there might be some reason for it, but why exactly does it work this way?

hypothetically speaking: if someone actually wanted to buy this forum, is that even a possibility, and I wonder how much something like that would even cost?

Theoretically, it’s possible.

How much does it cost? A fortune.

I ran three different online calculators. Here are the numbers they spit out:
$136,723
$62,704
$145,042

Then again, those figures might not mean a thing. If someone were actually serious about buying a forum, the real question is how much they’d be willing to pay.

For what it's worth, these are the tools I used:

Bastard!😠😬

Thanks for the reply; that's pretty much what I figured.

edit: So... since you all are being so incredibly helpful here, how do I go back and add a location to my profile? I've looked through the settings and can't find anything. Is that even a thing you can do?

Is there a way to pull a member list sorted by post count? πŸ€”

I know it’s possible😬. I've seen people drop links for this before, but I can't quite figure out how to actually 🀷

Are you talking about this? If you just head over to Member List and click on "Posts"β€”that’s the very first option at the top of the third columnβ€”you should find it.
Though, honestly, given how glitchy the post counter can be sometimes, there's a chance the current ranking isn't even accurate.

vividtiger said:I am trying to figure out how to upload an image from the web directly onto Polyvor, but I am hitting a wall. I searched everywhere and kept seeing people say you just need to install that little extension for the Bookmarks Tab. So, I went ahead and did exactly that. Now, when I click it, the tool directs me to select the specific image I want to import. I follow the prompts, click the image, type in all my tags and the title, and everything seems perfectβ€”but the second I hit "Add," I get this error message saying, "Sorry! Items from [every single website I can think of] may not be imported."

Where am I going wrong here? 😒

Does anyone have any insight? πŸ˜‰

This has nothing to do with the technical support section on Reddit. I honestly have no clue what Pinterest even is. You'd probably be better off asking this over in an IT help sub (like IT Help Service).

Haha, thanks so much! I'll give it my best shotβ€”fingers crossed that lady luck finally decides to smile on me for a third time! 😁
