Basically, if you subscribe to a thread, you'll get an email sent to whatever address you used when you signed upβ€”it just hits your inbox once a day with updates on how many new posts were made and stuff like that.πŸ˜‰

I somehow managed to subscribe to a thread without even realizing I’d done itβ€”honestly, I have no clue how it happened! Suddenly, my inbox is just getting flooded with notifications about every single new post in this topic. It's a bit much, really. Now, I'm trying to figure out how to cancel subscription so I can stop these alerts from popping up.

You'll find right here a full list of the threads you're currently following. Just check the box next to the topic you want to ditch, then hit the drop-down menu and select cancel subscription.

Thanks! I went ahead and decided to cancel subscription. It turns out I was actually subscribed to one thread without even realizing it, let alone another one.

Thanks for the reply πŸ™‚ I actually have one more quick question.
Is there a way to see immediately when someone posts something new? Right now, I’ve just been manually refreshing the page, but I have a feeling there's a much better way to stay updated 😁

Why is it that some users have their last active timestamp clearly visible, while for others, it just isn't there at all?

If they're currently online, it shows. But if someone has their privacy settings turned onβ€”meaning they won't even pop up on the bottom list of the homepage while activeβ€”then that info stays hidden from their profile too.

And how on earth do I go about making it so that when I’m not logged in, nobody can see exactly when I was last active?

It’s pretty straightforward; just head over to options, check the box for Use Invisible fashion, and hit save changes. πŸ™‚

Aha, so that's how you do it! I actually tried doing this a while back, but I had no clue it wouldn't show up as my last active timestamp.

Thanks, Charles Ramirez59 and vividfalcon14!

Hey.
I've got a problem.
Whenever I'm hanging out on the forum and don't post for more than five minutesβ€”or if I just open a different thread in another tab (I'm using the latest version of Firefox, not sure which one exactly) or a new window (in Internet Explorer 7)β€”it logs me out.
Is this happening to everyone else on the forum, or did I mess something up in my settings, my browser, or... something else?

Just copying my reply from this thread.

When you log in, just check the box that says remember me.
If you do that, you won't get logged out until you hit the bottom of the index pageβ€”and even then, only when you actually want to.πŸ˜‰

Ugh... look... I don't want it to remember me... I'm not the only one using this PC, and I definitely don't want my sister jumping on the forum using my account...
Is there seriously no other way?

You've basically got two ways to go about this.

1) After you're done hanging out on the forum, just look for the logout link at the bottom of the index page and hit that. That way, your sister can log in whenever she wantsβ€”she might even be remembered by the siteβ€”and then she just needs to log out when she's finished.

2) Or, you could just set up a few different user accounts on the computer. That way, everyone can stay remembered on the forum for as long as they want without worrying about someone else accidentally jumping into their account. I actually have a sister who uses the forums sometimes, so I ended up doing it this way myself. πŸ˜‰

Is there any way I can add a poll to the thread I already started?

Yeah, you can.
Go to the very first post of your thread (the one that starts everything). You'll see an "Edit" button there. Once you click that and the editing window pops up, just look toward the bottom under the advanced settingsβ€”you'll find the option to set up a poll right there.

Just a heads-up though: if the edit button isn't showing up for you, you'll have to reach out to the subforum Moderator and ask them to add it manually.πŸ™‚
(Usually, after about an hour or so, the system locks the ability to edit posts yourself.)

I accidentally shrunk the font on this forum (using Firefox, by the wayβ€”writing this from Internet Explorer 7)😲😲 and it wasn't just the letters, the whole layout is messed up.Ctrl + "-" did it to me. Now everything is microscopic,😱😱😱 basically just tiny little specks on my screen. Does anyone know how I can get this back to "normal"?div>
