If anyone's looking for info, you can find a ton of stuff about everything related to opioids right here.

briskwolf12 said:I’m looking for the medical side of this, preferably explained in the most complicated way possible:

how and why does someone using heroin end up with blood in their urine?

And what are the long-term effects on the brain? I'm talking about memory, lucidity, all that stuff. Not just while you're high, but what happens to people who have been off it for a long time. Is there a lasting impact on their mental abilities? Like, how much does heroin actually physically damage brain cells? Are there permanent consequences for the brain in that sense? What about motor skills?

All I find in this sea of anti-drug propaganda is nothing but slogans and empty talk.

Thanks in advance.

Any trace of blood in urine is pathological—it’s got nothing to do with heroin itself.

As for how heroin hits you if you're a chronic user? It wrecks the neurons in your frontal cortex, hippocampus, and so on. Long story short: you end up a total vegetable. Ever seen a long-term alcoholic? That’s what you're looking at. If you want that life, be my guest.😁

Joe@ said:So you're speaking from experience here, huh?😕 😁

Well, honestly, you don't actually need hands-on experience to know this stuff...

I mean, it's just common knowledge that there are different grades of heroin, ranging from high purity to the really low-quality junk, just like pretty much any other drug out there.
I haven't a clue if anyone is even taking anything at 100% purity, or what kind of tiny micron amounts we're talking about before it just straight up kills you on the spot.

Like, hellooo, I totally get the concept, even though I've never even laid eyes on actual heroin in my life!

It's common knowledge that heroin comes in different purity levels—high grade versus low grade. It’s basically the same deal with pretty much any other drug out there.
I honestly have no clue if anyone actually uses 100% pure stuff, or even what specific microgram amount would be enough to kill you instantly.

Seriously, hello? I know how this works, and I haven't even touched heroin.

Actually, it's all 5, but you've got your facts mixed up.

I'm with them on this one...😁

Look, how was I supposed to know—unless you heard it from an ex-friend who dealt Narcotike—that heroin gets cut with all kinds of junk just to stretch it out? It’s all about padding the supply so they can make more money on every hit. Every dealer out there is stuffing their product with random crap just to boost their profit margins!

I actually know Willard personally, which is why I’m saying it doesn't look like that 😁
it looks way worse😁

Haha, okay, I guess I finally realized you guys are all buddies... what I was trying to get at is that even little kids know that whole scene is total garbage, including stuff like 0.05% heroin
Or honestly, pretty much anything else—even coffee! You could take some burnt crust, tint it brown, slap an "aroma of coffee" label on it, and sell it as premium beans😛

I actually first saw how shady this stuff gets in Pulp Fiction😁 like, that's when it clicked for me that they basically mix it with everything under the sun

Then, once I got to college, my professors wouldn't stop lecturing us about it... but yeah, the movie was definitely my first real wake-up call😁

It’s common knowledge that people lace heroin with all sorts of garbage, ranging from powdered sugar and pudding mix to actual quicklime😱. Even someone like me, who has barely even smoked anything let alone tried the hard stuff, is aware of that fact😉 😁

That sounds like lime, but I honestly had no clue...
Holy crap,
I can't even begin to imagine what that stuff does to your teeth.

But man, you’d have to be pretty messed up to be shooting that straight into your veins.

Since lime is packed with calcium, the main takeaway is that it helps build strong, healthy bones.😁

I don't know how that's "common knowledge" to you,😕
if you're just picking it up from movies.
If it's from some Hollywood flick, then sure, maybe,
but I definitely don't take stuff like that from the movies as gospel truth.

That's nonsense. Lime? Pudding? Sugar? Most of the time, it's just lactose. 😉

Look, let's be real here... Hollywood movies aren't exactly the sole blueprint for how reality actually works. ☕

It looks much worse than that. 😁

Not everyone does it, though. You can't mess with it so much that it becomes unsellable.

It makes sense that people want to test a larger amount before buying, just to see if the stuff is actually worth the asking price. Once they try it, they'll know if it holds up.

For example...

You could buy 25g of high-grade stuff for $50 a gram, or you could grab some for $83 instead. But what are you gonna do with the cheap stuff at $83? You can't mix it with the good stuff, and you definitely won't touch the $150 batch (well, you could, but you'd end up with trash that nobody would buy unless you're looking to screw someone over 😁).

I'm not even going to comment on that last part.😁

I read it in an American newspaper, so if the reporter was just spinning baseless rumors, I apologize for passing on the wrong info. 👋

Joe said:And who exactly brought up those "American" movies? 😕

I don't know, someone brought up Pulp Fiction earlier...

Look, I already made my point: movies aren't the only way to get informed. Whether you're watching an American production, something from France, or a Japanese flick, they're just one small slice of the pie. 🙄

Internships might be useful for some people, I guess... ☕ I have honestly never encountered a book category like this in my entire life.

I mean, that’s what I was saying... just because I saw how someone overdosed in a movie doesn't mean I fall into that category of people who have never picked up a book in their entire lives!
One single leaf doesn't make a whole spring, right? And just because I watched a scene in a flick doesn't make me some absolute idiot, which is kind of what you guys are implying here.

Even back then, I didn't actually get the point of what happened... but later on, everything finally clicked for me.

And honestly, I'm not the type of person who just swallows everything served up in those American movies... but in Pulp Fiction, Vincent bought some stuff (coke, right?) and the dealer warned him that while the stuff he had was pure, the stash his buddy was holding wasn't, and then he ended up overdosing...
It's not like the situation is impossible or totally disconnected from real life. Sometimes, even in movies, they actually portray certain things relatively realistically.

Good grief... 😬I wasn't implying you've never read a single thing in your life; my point was simply that there are plenty of other ways to get information *besides* just watching movies.

[Sure, most people, thank God, watch enough films to pick things up along the way. 😬 But again, don't rely solely on Hollywood for your education. 😬]

Then, of course, there's that specific type of person I mentioned earlier.

*

I was actually just reacting to Joey's post where he claims
"I don't know how this is common knowledge to all of you ."

But honestly, why wouldn't we know?

We stay informed. 😁
