Hey, what kind of hair issues are you guys dealing with? Dandruff or thinning? I’ve been losing my hair in insane amounts over the last month. My volume has definitely dropped by half. I have no idea what to do. I started taking some vitamins and minerals because a doctor suggested it, but I can't touch B complex—it makes me gain weight like crazy (okay, not directly from the pills, it just makes me starving🙂)

Anyone got a solution?

Karen Thomas46 said:Unfortunately, I can't really be much help here.
My experience is limited strictly to clinics specializing in skin lesions, such as moles or skin tags.

My doctor gave me a referral to a dermatologist because of some moles—more than half of them have popped up just within the last year... she suggested I head over to the Salat clinic, but didn't specify which office, so all I could find on their website were the doctors listed above...

Do I actually need to go to the same place you went, or is there someone else you'd recommend?

I saw Dr. John Doe (I think he's in on Wednesdays), but you honestly can't go wrong with anyone else there.

And by good, I mean someone who isn't just gonna rush me out the door after listening to half of what I have to say... I've had some doctors do that to me before and I really don't want a repeat performance. So if anyone has a recommendation... oh, and I have a referral from my insurance, so I'm not looking for a private clinic...
thanks 😉

John Doe 😉

just saw the part about not being private, so yeah, never mind then..

You should probably get your thyroid checked. Hair loss is a classic symptom of hypothyroidism; that was exactly what happened to me. Hang in there.

Justin Thomas82 said:Look, I’m a private dentist here in Chicago. I stumbled onto this site by accident, and since I'm here, let me give you my two cents—briefly:

I had no idea people actually swapped this kind of intel on here, especially regarding specific dentists... Looking through these first five pages, it seems to me that a handful of practitioners are practically forced to use this platform as a makeshift billboard—which is their own choice, even if they try to pretend otherwise!

Listen, colleague... there are plenty of us here who have noticed that the same few names keep popping up constantly, which definitely feels like a coordinated ad campaign....
But at the end of the day, these are real experiences from people posting here... and I respect that..

Honestly, I think your take on this whole situation is completely off base...

It isn't right for you to insult the very people on this forum... people who, frankly, provide the engagement you rely on to exist...

So, I went over to the Harni clinic in the East Side area. Honestly, all the gynecologists there are just fantastic. They did my pap smear, an ultrasound, and a full exam $150.

Could someone please point me toward a solid general practitioner in New York City?
I’m living over in Botinac, though I'm totally open to looking slightly outside that immediate neighborhood.
Please!
Thanks in advance

The doctors at Siget Health Center are top-notch across the board. Personally, I see Dr. Chavao. She’s an absolute gem and incredibly empathetic.

What I actually need is a doctor who will take me seriously, provide a real diagnosis, and actually order the necessary tests and screenings.
Right now, I’m stuck with a physician who just offers a patronizing little smile and insists everything is perfectly normal—claiming that these symptoms are just how most people feel, which seems to be her default response to absolutely everything.
Angela Wright, thanks for the input!

Right now, my doctor just smiles and brushes everything off, claiming it's all perfectly normal and that most people deal with this stuff anyway. That’s her catch-all answer for everything.
Angela Wright, thanks!

Well, finding a general practitioner willing to hand out diagnoses is like finding a needle in a haystack, but this one will at least get you the referrals you need to see the actual specialists.👍

Does anyone have a good dermatologist recommendation? Looking for someone in private practice—if you know their rates too, that would be awesome... thx

Honestly, it’s neither of those—my hair is just getting terribly thin... my scalp gets incredibly oily, and I have no idea what the deal is. I feel like I've tried every shampoo under the sun, but it's all been a complete waste of money. My hairstylist thinks the issue might be internal and suggested I go see a doctor to get things checked out...

I need recommendations for a private dermatologist. I’m looking to book an appointment to address some persistent acne issues; my skin either becomes excessively oily or gets incredibly dry and starts flaking. It’s quite frustrating.
My partner is also dealing with dandruff—specifically seborrheic dermatitis, if I have that term correct.
We are hoping to find the right treatment plan to resolve these issues once and for all.🙂

I’m looking to book an appointment with someone—doesn't matter if it's a guy or a girl—to deal with this acne situation on my face. It's driving me nuts. My skin either gets super oily or just feels completely stripped and dry, and then it starts peeling... honestly, it's just gross.
So, my dear friend is dealing with some dandruff issues—specifically seborrheic dermatitis (did I even spell that right? I guess?).
I mean, if we could just get the right therapy and finally be done with this whole thing forever... maybe. I guess.🙂

So, I wrote this out for you... I've actually gone to see him a few times myself and, I don't know, he seems like an okay guy, I guess. 😉

Great, thanks.
Could you tell me how much an appointment costs? And are there any extra fees?🤷

coastalpanther62 said:Has anyone had experience with the Stefanec-Papac clinic in Newark? I think I spelled it right.

My experience was pretty terrible...

They mostly staff it with young dentists who don't know what they're doing, and the faces change every single year.

The fillings are bad, and Stefanec doesn't actually do anything—others do the work while she just provides the name on the door.

They try to force you into a strict six-month follow-up on a specific date. When I told them I’d call in a few months since August is vacation time, they insisted I come back on the exact day they picked in August.

A filling they did on one of my teeth is a disaster; I'll be getting it fixed as soon as I can.

And honestly, I doubt I actually had as many cavities as they claimed to find.

Personal opinion. I definitely DO NOT RECOMMEND. 👎

I’d like to circle back to the dentist’s post above.

The reality is that people using insurance usually just get minor work done, whereas private practitioners often overdo it—you can figure out why.

I think it’s vital to have someone who follows your dental history long-term, actually knows your teeth, and genuinely wants to help you. I don't have that kind of relationship.

My dentist is actually a former colleague since we met before she started practicing, so she goes the extra mile for me. She treats everyone well, though. I don't mind paying extra for white fillings or whatever else is necessary.

I WOULD ONLY CARE IF SOMEONE TRIED TO FIX A TOOTH THAT WAS BEYOND SAVING, OR FAILED TO FIX ONE THAT WAS CRITICAL. Or if they did a sloppy job... you get the point.

Finding a good dentist is tough. But it's necessary when you're dealing with your health.

A good dentist explains exactly why there's a cavity and how they plan to fix it. They have experience. And they aren't cheap.

Best, and good luck.🙂

I'm not quite sure what specific issue you're dealing with, but I personally had such a great experience with Dr. Gudelj over at Medica...

So, I guess all dermatologists are trained in the exact same way, right?
I've been dealing with some kind of dermatitis lately
How much does she charge for a visit, and how fast can you actually get an appointment? Like, do you have to wait forever, or can you get in pretty quickly?
