Ideally, somewhere on the west side of town, but honestly, I'm not being all that picky...

I’ve had a great experience with Dr. Predrag Pršo; he takes Medicare, and his office is right on Nikola Tesla Street, just near the JPMorgan Chase branch.

Does anyone know a good private ENT specialist in Washington, D.C. or maybe Savannah? My sinuses have been completely blocked—full-blown inflammation—for three months now. To make matters worse, my primary doctor is refusing to give me a referral for an ENT for some reason... apparently, they're cutting costs in the American healthcare system, so patient wellness takes a backseat to the bottom line.

Ugh.

Honestly, there's a top-tier clinic in Washington, D.C. with some seriously amazing doctors over on 191 Main Street.
It's the Mayo Clinic—you can reach them at 01 2222-736
Good luck, hope you feel better soon!

Grab your medical files and switch over to a different doctor—someone who isn't stingy with those referrals. That’s your right! Before you make the jump, definitely ask around. Talk to your family, friends, relatives, or even neighbors to see what they think of their primary care physicians. You pay into Medicare every single month, so you shouldn't have to shell out extra cash for private clinics just to get basic care. Honestly, trust me on this: there are some incredible doctors working at Johns Hopkins Hospital, Mercury, and the Sister of Mercy.
If you're really set on going private, besides Dr. Ivica Klapan's office on Broadway, I'd also suggest looking into Dr. Mladen Dobrović over near Zelinski. I can't remember his exact street address, but you should be able to find it easily with a quick search online.

I don't have one, but honestly, I wouldn't go to him if I were you. We used to be his patients, but now we see Dr. Djapic privately.

I suspect it’s the same story with every GP. They get stingy with referrals if they think Medicare is going to come after them for overspending. Between my physical issues—a 2.5cm leg discrepancy and this nose blockage I've been dealing with for three months now—and seeing a psychiatrist, I probably burn through quite a few referrals myself. Maybe that's the issue, or maybe I've just lost all credibility with my doctor because of the psychiatric visits. Honestly, I'm too embarrassed to switch doctors; I don't feel like starting from scratch and answering a dozen invasive questions about my mental health again. I’d rather just find a private ENT to handle this... I went ahead and booked an appointment at the Mayo Clinic. It’s going to cost me a fortune, but whatever...

Dr. Pollak is located over in St. Louis. There are actually a few other specialists in that same building—if I recall correctly, they’re up on the second floor—but they tend to work different shifts. It's right there by the plaza, near those shops situated between the stadium and the back entrance of the supermarket, though I can't quite recall the exact street number.

No problem at all! 🙂

hey thanks! I've been doing a little digging on Google for a bit 😉 and stumbled upon Dr. Pollak. Now I'm just praying he doesn't absolutely fleece me... Usually, the ones everyone raves about charge an arm and a leg... but I guess that's just how it goes... makes sense in a weird way, I suppose...
thanks a million!

is it actually normal $117 to have a root canal this painful? absolute disaster... and I'm stuck footing the bill just because some negligent dentist botched my tooth in the first place.

Greetings to everyone...

Since I’ve recently moved over to the Oakland area—specifically near the plaza—I find myself searching for a reliable dentist nearby... Does anyone have any recommendations they could share? 🙂
I happened to learn (mostly because a lovely young lady actually knocked on my door to promote her services🙂) that Dr. Eleanor Roosevelt is currently accepting new patients... Does anyone happen to have any information regarding this esteemed doctor?

Thank you all in advance!

I am looking for a recommendation for a dentist in the Westside area... maybe somewhere near Oakland or downtown. Any suggestions for that vicinity? Thanks in advance for the help.

Can anyone point me toward a "normal" GP in this city? I’ve been registered with one specific doctor for five years now—though, truth be told, I haven't actually seen her since my initial intake back then. Since then, she seems to have lost her voice entirely—metaphorically speaking—and all I get is a revolving door of temporary replacements. They're always these young, inexperienced doctors—as long as the nameplate on the office door still claims that mysterious physician is accepting new patients, I suppose it doesn't matter. Every single visit brings someone new, someone even less seasoned than the last. This latest kid playing doctor is "the best" of the bunch—if you can call him that. He sends me to the pharmacy with incorrect paperwork, and he had the audacity to claim that larger pill counts for my allergy medication don't exist—meaning I’m forced to trek back to his office every ten days just for that. His go-to solution for every ailment? A breezy, "Let's wait a few months and see how this develops." Imagine if a doctor like that were actually tasked with prescribing a serious treatment plan. Anyway, I've realized the entire crowd at that clinic is just as fed up as I am, which is why I’m turning to you all for help. I'm located in the Brooklyn area—so if there is a decent doctor nearby (ideally a woman, as I tend to trust them more), or even just someone significantly more competent than my current situation, please let me know which medical center they practice at. Thanks. (Feel free to DM me)

Hey there!

I've been seeing Dr. Božičević Radić at Student Health Services over in Times Square since my college days, and honestly, she’s just incredible.
Here, if you want her number, see if you can manage to switch over to her practice: 4603612

Hey there.

I'm also on the hunt for a decent dentist. I need to get a crown or maybe two done—just something sturdy enough so I can actually eat normally afterward... that's my one non-negotiable. And obviously, I'd rather not go broke doing it.

If anyone has a recommendation, could you shoot me a PM?

Thanks!

If anyone knows a solid dentist (especially if they’re near Brooklyn or downtown), please let me know!
I was scrolling through some old threads and noticed some mentions of Dr. Carpenter; if anyone has seen her lately, I’d really appreciate your honest take.
Also... any idea what the damage is for a single tooth repair? Just looking for a rough ballpark so I don't have a heart attack when the bill arrives. 😲

Just wanted to give another shout-out to Dubravka Dvojković over on Dalmatian Street. 👍 👍 👍

She’s incredibly thorough and diligent. Also, I had no idea my Social Security Administration coverage actually included dental cleanings 😁 every six months.

I'm covered under the SSA. I pay extra for white fillings.

I used to go to strictly private practices before this, and let me tell you, Dr. Štefanac-Papić is a disaster. 👎 👎 👎 She just uses a rotating door of inexperienced young dentists who focus on volume over quality. To make matters worse, they charge me full price as if the head doctor were doing the work herself. I have plenty more to say if anyone actually cares.

Money isn't an issue when it comes to my health, but I always had this nagging fear at those private clinics that they might accidentally "fix" a tooth that wasn't even broken in the first place.😁

🤣 I guess I have those same fears sometimes too 😂

But I need to get one tooth sorted out pretty urgently, so I'm looking at private options. It's been a while since I've been to a dentist, though, so I don't even know what the prices are like these days 🤷

I'm looking for the exact same thing: a solid primary care doctor who actually does more than just push paperwork... hm, yeah, ideally someone with a bit of warmth and empathy—if those words even still mean anything these days.

I’m relatively underwhelmed with my own GP; she’s a woman who is just "meh" at best 🤷, depending on her mood, and her office is a complete mess... it's always chaotic and disorganized. But honestly, I'm even more frustrated with my son's doctor; with her, the waiting room is actually pretty empty—which might be a sign, since people aren't exactly fighting to get an appointment—but she is incredibly arrogant. She's always prickly, extremely rude, and totally disinterested; she'd probably be better suited working in debt collection or something.

On another note, I've heard from a few people that Dr. Klarić over at the Trešnjevka Community Health Center is a really decent guy. Does anyone know anything about him? I'd also appreciate any other recommendations you might have.

Also, could someone clarify one thing for me: next school year when my son becomes a student, does he switch entirely over to Student Health Services, or can he keep his family doctor and just go to the clinic for the routine physicals required by the university?

You don't actually have to switch over to Student Health Services; you can just stay registered with your regular doctor like you always have. Back when I was in school, we used to head over to the Public Health Department for our checkups, at least that's how it worked for my major.
