Honestly, I’m also on the hunt for a solid orthodontist recommendation—so if anyone out there actually knows a good one... 🙂

As for me, I’m still searching... so I can’t give out recommendations just yet. But my advice? Check out the thread specifically about braces.😉🙂

Nicole Kim77 said:I was barely even convinced to go see Ivankovic (since things had already become quite serious by then), and honestly, I can say without hesitation that I would go back every single day.
I truly love what I do, you need patience, and frankly, I have almost entirely lost—no, completely lost—that last shred of fear and anxiety I used to feel before going.
Anyway, to make a long story short, this is about the Dental Clinic located at 17 King Krešimir Square. Ivankovic is the dentist (he has another partner there whom I haven't seen yet), and yes, it’s private practice, but I don't regret a single cent I spent (in fact, it turned out to be even cheaper than other private clinics).
So... there. I hope this helps..
Best regards to everyone

I support my colleague here 100%👍

Just one small correction though... Dr. Ivankovic is primarily an oral surgeon, so don't let that throw you off...

I’ve got a crown on my upper second molar that was pretty poorly placed. My gums are constantly inflamed, and every couple of months they swell up again. I'm looking to get my entire mouth fixed up properly.

So, does anyone know who does the best dental prosthetics in Washington, D.C.? (Feel free to drop a link if you have one)
What’s the typical price range for crowns these days?

Thanks.

Honestly, I don't think a decent dentist even exists in Washington, D.C., because if one did, everyone would be talking about them.

I’ve been seeing Dubravko čuvati over on Jurišićev, and let me tell you—he’s gone downhill. The waiting room is more packed than ever, so now he’s just cranky and "fast," and not in a good way. I asked for a simple cleaning—and he gives me this attitude like I’m wasting his precious time or some crap. He takes Medicare and private patients, but honestly, I’m losing interest fast. Also, dental implants can sometimes be covered partially by Medicare (just like glasses and other stuff, depending on your benefits), but with him? NO WAY IN HELL, not happening!

And it gets worse...

The latest disaster: they tried to do a tooth revision, treatment, and filling all in one week. Even the nurse looked horrified—like, seriously? You’re finishing the whole thing in a week?!
Basically, he filled the tooth, and when I told him, "Hey, it hurts," he basically told me it couldn't hurt... Well, guess what? My tooth swelled up so much over the weekend that my face is puffy, and now I feel like my ear and throat are going to swell up too... I actually ran a FEVER!!!!

My bad, sorry..

I woke up with a fever and went in today to get things "opened up." Honestly, I barely made it through the weekend. AND HE REFUSED TO DO IT because he said it would "prolong my treatment." No kidding! He only just gave me an antibiotic now—like, why wasn't this given last week? And then he tells me to call if I happen to notice I'm dying (hey, buddy, I AM dying!! I have a fever, I can't swallow, I've been feeling like crap for 4 days!). He handed me ONE antibiotic and thinks that’s going to fix everything just so he doesn't "prolong the treatment."

So, tell me—is THAT even humane? And is it professional?

I'm seriously thinking about hitting up the Perkovčev clinic tonight because this is getting ridiculous...

So, I really need to get my crowns and bridge fixed up—and honestly, I’ve never actually had to deal with anything like this before here in San Francisco. I'm on the hunt for a high-quality private dentist who can handle the job, but I'm kind of hitting a wall trying to find solid info on who to trust. Maybe someone hanging out on this forum has had a killer experience with this kind of work? If you have any leads, I would be seriously grateful! 😁

Basically, if you're heading to see Dr. Dubravko čuvati over on Runjanin Street, just know everything moves at lightning speed—except for the prosthetics, which he’ll definitely charge you for... and honestly, the whole vibe is just one big sales pitch. The guy basically pushes you into getting a crown or a bridge just to get a sale. He's also super unpleasant to be around; he’s even rude to his own nurses, whom he's constantly cycling through. Makes you wonder why...

I go to Dubravko čuvati on Jurišićev Street and I gotta say, he’s gone downhill. It’s way more crowded now than before, so he’s gotten all tense and "fast," but in a bad way. I asked for a scaling—not gonna bore you with the details and stuff. He takes Medicare and private patients, but I’m liking him less and less. Usually, things like implants can be partially covered by Medicare (kind of like glasses or other gear, depending on your benefits), but with him—forget about it!

And then there's this...

Latest disaster—filling and treatment all done in a week. Even his assistant looked shocked, like, "You're really closing everything up in just a week?!"
Anyway, he filled my tooth with some medicated stuff, and when I said it hurt, he basically told me it couldn't. Well, the tooth swelled up so much over the weekend that my face is puffy, and I think my ear and throat are getting inflamed too... I even ran a fever!!!!

I don't know, I disagree. There are good dentists in Washington, D.C., just not many. Most of them are just out for the cash, which sucks, because if you aren't doing it for the love of the job, you won't last long.

I had my #6 tooth treated by Dr. Azinović and he did a fine job, but then I read later that you're supposed to get an X-ray after root canal cleaning and filling, and then follow-ups for a year or two. He didn't mention any of that, so I'll probably give him a piece of my mind next time I see him. 🙂

For me, the whole process took maybe 2-3 weeks. It almost felt like he was rushing to get paid and get rid of me, but I guess that wasn't the point, since the tooth didn't actually hurt while it had the medicine in it. 🙂

though, I should mention, the best part is he has a laser that doesn't hurt. 😛
He only does certain things privately, but whatever. $100 Not much of a price for painless work anyway.

He did a solid job, but then I started reading online that after you get the canals cleaned and filled, you absolutely have to get an X-ray, plus a few more over the next year or two. He didn't mention any of that to me, so I'll just ask him when I see him again. 🙂

That’s just not true; there isn't some mandatory rule about getting an X-ray right after a root canal filling.

I was wondering if anyone here happens to see Dr. Meštrović over at the clinic on Petrov? I'm curious to hear if anyone has any thoughts or experiences they might be willing to share. Thanks.

So, here’s the deal...
I have to admit—I am a massive coward. I haven't stepped foot in a dentist's office in many, many years, which means my dental situation is, to put it mildly, a bit of a disaster. I’m fully aware that I need to get this sorted out, but I'm dealing with this indescribable level of anxiety—not to mention the sheer embarrassment of how much I've neglected everything.
I know dentists have become quite expensive lately, but still...
I’m looking for a really solid female dentist in NYC—private practice preferred. I don't mind paying whatever it takes; I just want to resolve this nightmare as quickly as possible.

Has anyone actually been to these places:

What’s their vibe like? How are the prices for dental prosthetics, and is the waiting room packed? Thanks.

Does anyone happen to know where Goran Vidović is practicing these days? I used to see him back when he was at that private Dental Clinic over on Savska Street in Washington, D.C. I noticed some other people praising him here on the forum in old posts from 2005, too. I personally went to him from 2003 to 2006, and I was just so happy with his work—he was incredibly friendly, really attentive, and most importantly, everything he fixed turned out great. I was honestly so bummed when I found out back in 2007 that he wasn't working there anymore. I tried searching on Google, but I couldn't find anything about his current location. So, I was wondering if anyone might have the address or phone number for his new office? If you do, please send me the details—you can even just DM me.

Thanks in advance.

Can anyone give me the lowdown on ala Ageel, MD? He’s a dermatology specialist working at KBO but also runs a private practice. My esthetician recommended him, so before I go booking an appointment, I wanted to see if anyone here has actually been to see this guy. What are your experiences like? Is he worth the trip, or should I keep looking? etc, etc...

Hi everyone—in my book, the absolute best dentist is Dr. Doblanovic, located right by the MIOC.
He runs a private practice, but he takes Medicare. Honestly, I’ve been terrified of dentists since I was a little girl—back then, they actually pulled a tooth while I was awake without any anesthesia. Then, later on, I ended up with some butcher at the local health center who left me with an infected root because of pure negligence. I finally hit my breaking point, and a friend suggested I see Doblanovic.
When I first walked in there, I was shaking—literally felt like I was heading to the electric chair. :-D
What can I say... his approach is incredibly warm; he knows how to joke around, yet maintains total professionalism and seriousness when it matters. He diagnosed my issue immediately, figured out exactly what needed to be done, performed a minor procedure, and finally shattered my lifelong fear of the dentist. Everything is done under anesthesia, and he has incredible patience. If you ever need to ask him a question or just need advice, he's always available.
Thanks to him, I finally fixed that root issue that nearly ruined everything, and my teeth look great now.
I don't trust anyone else with my teeth anymore—it's strictly him. He took someone who would practically pass out at the sight of a dentist and turned them into someone who walks into a clinic with a smile, actually caring about their oral health.
The office is run by the elder Mr. Doblanovic, his son, and his son's husband.
I recommended them to my close friend, and we both go exclusively to them now.

So, I was wondering if anyone might have the address or phone number for his current office? If you do, please send me the details—you can even just shoot me a private message.

I'm not entirely sure if I've picked the right topic here, but could someone please recommend a private psychologist in Washington, D.C.?
Basically, I just need some sort of professional assessment regarding my mental state—just to confirm that everything is okay. 🙂

If anyone happens to have a specific name and phone number, please let me know.

Thanks...

I know this psychologist who specializes in sexual therapy, but I’m not totally sure where she’s practicing these days. If you're looking for a therapist in that field, just let me know and I'll shoot you her name in a DM.

Don't pick a psychologist like that... you're looking at this all wrong.

Psychologists aren't just one big group—they specialize based on specific traumas. You've got experts who focus exclusively on grief and loss, others who deal specifically with borderline personality disorders, and then there are those who handle entirely different types of mental health issues.

First, you need to figure out exactly what you're dealing with so you can find a psychotherapist who actually specializes in that area.
