Amy Long9 said:Whatever you do, stay away from that private dental clinic on Fifth Avenue near the big hospital—the one calling itself "aesthetic dentistry." They absolutely trashed my mouth, and honestly, there’s no fixing it now. I'm still fuming, especially since they charged me an arm and a leg just to mess things up. Just putting it out there so people know—it's all just superficial vanity. Seriously, just keep your healthy teeth while you still have them.

That’s just messed up. It feels like they basically wanted to break my teeth just so they'd have more business and could squeeze more money out of me.😠

I have a dentist near Central Park named Rachel Maddow, and she is absolutely wonderful and so experienced! I know her not just as my dentist, but as a person outside of her practice too... she’s truly an amazing woman. I’d recommend her to anyone because her expertise and years of experience really shine through in everything she does. ☕

Greetings to everyone... I find myself in a bit of a predicament, having three wisdom teeth left that have nothing but roots remaining at this point, which means I’m facing an inevitable trip to an oral surgeon. If anyone could kindly point me toward a specialist who actually knows their craft—someone with genuine experience who won't treat my mouth like a butcher shop—I would be eternally grateful... My current dentist tried to hit an inflamed tooth with three separate injections, and when absolutely nothing worked, I simply bolted from the chair and fled straight home... So, if you could please suggest someone competent in the Miami or Charleston areas, I’d appreciate it immensely,

Thank you

My husband—and I mean this in the most loving way possible—is the kind of guy who would rather step into a cage with a 1,000-pound grizzly bear than sit through a single dental appointment.
So, my question is: does anyone know of a dentist in Washington, D.C., who offers sedation dentistry? Is that actually a common thing people do? Because let’s be real, there is absolutely no way he is sitting in that chair without being knocked out.
I would deeply appreciate any leads or advice you all might have.

Most people only act this way because they’re being difficult; maybe he'll get over himself once he realizes how awkward he's being.
I'd suggest finding a dentist who actually has the patience for this. You need someone who can spend a few sessions just talking and building rapport without even picking up a tool. Getting him comfortable with the process is key—the right approach works wonders. A good dentist might also suggest some mild sedation to take before the actual procedure starts.
Beyond that, general anesthesia is no small matter.

Thanks for the reply, but look—he actually found a dentist who uses sedation even for people who aren't completely out of their minds.

Hey!

Anyone here actually tried chiropractic work? I'm thinking about booking an appointment, but honestly, I have no clue where to start. If you’ve been through it or have any solid recommendations...
I'm looking mainly in the Washington, D.C. area.

thanks

I’m looking for some serious dental work—specifically an orthodontist and a surgeon.

Between the discoloration, the crooked teeth, the double bite, and my messed-up jaw joints, I’ve got quite the project on my hands.

It would be amazing if there were a private practice in Savannah that had all three specialists under one roof, because let’s face it, this isn't getting fixed in a few months.

Should I just head to Washington, D.C.? Please, I’m begging for recommendations.

Or even just a top-tier dentist in the Vince area to start with. Does anyone realize I'm basically guaranteeing I'll never have laugh lines? I'm embarrassed by everything from my nose down.

I’d suggest seeing an oral surgeon at the local basketball club hospital in Washington, D.C. You'll definitely need a referral from your regular dentist first.

As for dentists in Savannah, I honestly wouldn't know—I'm based in Washington, D.C., so I just stick to my usual spots here.

Hi there!
Does anyone here have experience with ozone therapy for treating cavities? I'd love some practical advice. Does anyone know which dentists in the area use Healozon, what the typical cost per tooth is, and whether you need to go back for multiple sessions?
Feel free to shoot me a DM if that's easier.
Thanks!

Olivia Myers4 said:Thanks for the reply—but apparently he found a dentist who offers sedation for everyone, not just those who can't handle it.

Does anyone have the info on which dentist that is? Is it just sedation, or full general anesthesia? Feel free to DM me if you'd rather not post here.

I really need to get my eyes checked since I’m nearsighted and haven't been to an eye doctor in forever, plus I definitely need some new glasses and maybe even contact lenses.

So here's what I'm looking for:

1.)Does anyone know a legit, high-quality ophthalmologist in Washington, D.C. who actually does a thorough exam? I don't want some hack who just hands me a chart and asks me to read letters like they did to me last time.

2.)What's the damage for contact lenses, which brands are actually good if I'm using them for sports, and how long does it take to actually get used to wearing them?

3.)Where can I find some high-end, stylish frames with decent lenses for under $267?

Thanks in advance for the help. 👍

I mean, come on, someone’s gotta know what’s actually going on here... It's not like everyone’s got 20/20 vision or anything. 😁

Hi everyone, this is my very first post on this forum!

I was wondering if any of you have been to the Mayo Clinic? I'm curious to hear if your experiences were positive or negative—and honestly, which eye clinic do you all think is the absolute best?

Thanks!

Samuel Morales said:So, I wrote this out for you—I've actually seen him a few times and he seems like a decent guy, honestly 😉

unspecified, PhD, dermatology clinic Washington, D.C., 2 Main St (01) 4650 586

What’s the damage for an appointment?
Like, what’s the general going rate for seeing any dermatologist, roughly?

I'm thinking about heading to that specific doctor, but I have no clue if I should expect to pay $67 or $167 or whatever else...

Anyone been there?

I HAVE TO SHARE THIS RECOMMENDATION FOR AN ABSOLUTELY PHENOMENAL DENTIST IN DOWNTOWN WASHINGTON, D.C.; DR. DUBRAVKO ČUVALO, LOCATED AT 21/1 JURIŠIĆEVA STREET. I’VE BEEN GOING TO HIM FOR YEARS NOW AND HONESTLY, I CAN’T SAY ENOUGH GOOD THINGS!

Yeah, I know her too. Never actually sat in her chair myself, but trust me, everyone raves about her.
