I am seeking some recommendations for an orthopedist—or perhaps someone else specializing in this area—located in Chicago. I’m particularly interested if anyone has experience dealing with Achilles tendinosis or Haglund's deformity. I have heard through the grapevine that the specialists over by Central Park are quite good, though I suppose it never hurts to ask for a second opinion, does it? Also, does anyone happen to know the current wait times for Dr. Bojanica? How much of a demand is there for his services at the moment? Thank you so much!

Hey everyone,

Does anyone have a good primary care doctor they can recommend in New Chicago? I’m currently sitting in a clinic over in the suburbs and honestly, I'm pretty unhappy with the service here. They seem to have this weird rule where they won't take on patients from other doctors within the same practice, so I'm looking to jump ship to a different clinic entirely.

Thanks so much!

Hey everyone... I’ve been dealing with this annoying issue for about two or three years now—constant styes on my eyelids and these tiny white bumps popping up on my cheeks. I actually went under the knife three different times at a private clinic to get the styes fixed, but honestly, it was pretty much a waste of time because the bumps and the general irritation in my eyes just won't quit. I’ve been stuck using antibiotic drops for seven or eight months straight now, and at this point, I’m starting to suspect my ophthalmologist might be leading me on... I really need some solid recommendations for a good eye doctor in Rijeka because this whole situation is driving me absolutely crazy... It feels like I'm just throwing money down the drain without seeing any actual progress.

I'm urgently looking for a great private dentist in Chicago. If anyone has a recommendation, I would be eternally grateful! I’m considering the Cekic clinic—has anyone worked with them or knows what their pricing is like? Let me know! 🙂))

Matthew Bennett4 said:Honestly, I wouldn't mind at all if someone could point me in the right direction regarding cardiologists over in Split—even if the news is bad, I guess I just need to know what I'm dealing with...😛

I see this post is from back in March, so I know I’m probably way late to the party here, but I figured I’d chime in anyway just in case someone is still looking for advice... personally, I go to see Dr. V. Culic, who practices over at the Crossroad area at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. Honestly, he’s just wonderful—he takes the time to explain everything so clearly, and he’s such a pleasant person to talk to, which isn't always easy to find. Plus, he’s incredibly highly qualified, being a university professor with several published papers and all that, so you really feel like you're in good hands. For me, it’s super important to be able to actually have a normal conversation with my doctor and feel like I can ask any random question that pops into my head without feeling awkward. And honestly, the nurses working alongside him are just lovely too—especially the ones handling the ultrasounds, the stress tests, and the Holter monitors. Most importantly, they aren't those types of people who act all grumpy or impatient the second you walk through the door; they’re actually kind and patient with you, which makes such a huge difference. Anyway, I hope that helps someone out! 😉

Hey there
I've been diagnosed with a hernia.
I'm looking for a place to get the surgery done, but I don't want laparoscopy. I'm specifically after the Lichtenstein method or a tension-free technique since those can be done under local anesthesia... makes the recovery way faster and less painful.
Maybe somewhere in Chicago or Split...
thanks

Does anyone know where I can find a reliable list of gynecologists practicing in Chicago who accept Medicare?

Does anyone happen to know a physician who specializes in epilepsy and narcolepsy?

It makes no difference whether they are in private practice or part of a larger network... 🙄

Quick question about switching primary care doctors.
A few months back, I switched my GP (along with a couple of family members), but honestly, I’m just not happy with the treatment, the diagnoses, or the overall vibe.
Is there a way to move to a new doctor by citing a breakdown in the patient-provider relationship? If I go that route, do I need to provide more detail? Basically, would it help to be extra specific with the explanation to make sure Medicare approves the request to change doctors?

Hi there,

Does anyone know of a good proctologist in Rijeka? I can't seem to track one down even after five different calls. I'd really appreciate any recommendations you might have.

Is it actually possible that Rijeka is the only city left without a decent proctologist? (And I'm not even counting the state clinics where you'll be waiting six months just for an appointment)

If I somehow missed someone, please let me know who you'd recommend.

Thanks,
Ivano Skalamera

If I’ve somehow managed to overlook one, please, I am begging for a recommendation!

Thanks,

I’m looking for some recommendations for a solid private endocrinologist in Rijeka (if such a thing even exists, because I feel like I've searched everywhere already). I've been scheduled for an appointment at the hospital, but not until December, and I simply cannot afford to wait that long.
Thanks in advance.

Hey Dorothy Perkins, you might want to check out this neurologist at the New Hospital—Dr. Vrcati—who specializes in epilepsy cases.

I’m looking for recommendations for a solid dentist in downtown America—specifically someone who excels at prosthetic work, like those veneers, fillings, and all the newer tech stuff. Ideally, I'd like to stay closer to the city center; I’d rather not trek out to the suburbs or some far-off edge of town.

So, I saw someone here suggesting Dr. Ivica Pelivan over on Derenčinov near Kvatric—has anyone actually sat in his chair? How was the experience? It always feels a bit suspicious to me when someone pops up on these forums with just one single post, dropping a recommendation and vanishing. Then there was a suggestion for Dr. Mladen Frntic (yet another one-post wonder). Well, if any of you are actually their patients, what's the verdict? I haven't seen any follow-up posts from people saying they actually went and were happy with the results.

Does anyone have any intel on Dr. Cek over in Rudes on Grga Antunac Street? How is his work? (Though, honestly, that’s not exactly central for me). Or maybe Dr. Jordanic over on Ozaljska in Trešnjevka?

I am seriously begging for your recommendations, comments, or any firsthand experiences you can share. Thanks in advance.

So, what’s her full name? Dr. Natasha Stimac? And do you happen to have her cell number?
Have you actually gone to her for those veneers yourself? Also, what are we talking in terms of cost—just a rough ballpark figure?

And more importantly, would you actually vouch for her as a general dentist (I mean, is her work solid across the board, not just the cosmetic stuff)?
Does she take Medicare?

Hey everyone! 🙂

I’m in urgent need of a solid primary care physician here in Rijeka.

Does anyone have any insight on Dr. Zrinka Bradicic-Vivod?

Or perhaps some other recommendations to throw my way?

Thanks a million.

Hey, northernfox30!

You should check out Dr. Babic—she’s excellent. Her clinic is located right by the Stjepan Radic dorms (near Sava), just past Savski Gaj. She takes everyone, not just students, which is a huge plus. I’ve actually been seeing her for 15 years now, and I couldn't be happier. She’s professional, a sharp diagnostician, and she doesn't give you any trouble when it comes to referrals.

By the way, if you happen to know anyone over in Rijeka—I just moved there recently and am hunting for a good GP myself—please send some recommendations my way!

Good luck, cheers.

I’m currently at a clinic in Utrina, but I’m not really satisfied there—they seem to have this unspoken rule about not taking patients from other doctors within the same practice—so I’m looking to switch to a different clinic.

Thanks a lot.
