redheron12 said:Good grief, please—don't just lash out for the sake of lashing out simply to defend Alonso. Hamilton completely totaled his car the day before yesterday and they barely managed to get it back together; you'd think he'd struggle against Button, yet he was still faster in qualifying. I know that might be hard for you to swallow, but looking at pure, raw speed, Hamilton is the best driver on the grid today.

Besides, Button finished 6th today behind Mark Webber, while Hamilton took 4th—don't you think it's possible that Button simply burned through too much fuel trying to chase times that would have put him ahead of Webber after the pit stops?

No, I'm sure it's all a conspiracy 🙄

Wasn't your mother able to teach you that resorting to personal attacks when you lack actual arguments is just a sign of weakness and poor manners? 🙂

Look, I know it might be hard for you to accept, but if we're talking about pure raw speed, Lewis Hamilton is the best driver out there right now.

Raw speed doesn't really do it for me, 😳 and I don't think that's quite what defines the best driver. 🤷 I suppose there are several other components that need to come together—which isn't exactly the case with Lewis; he lacks a bit of that Jenson Button quality, for instance—to actually call a driver "complete." And in my opinion, that "completeness" is what makes someone the best. I think I already touched on this in the thread about Ivan Gumbek, so I won't repeat myself. 😁 😁

No, I'm sure it's all just a setup. 🙄

Come on, don't be ridiculous; just ask if you don't understand. 😁 I wasn't referring to today; I was talking about fuel conservation during the race in Turkey. 😍

If they actually wanted to crack down on this kind of behavior, they’d just strip points from both drivers.
I still remember how fast they moved to penalize Michael Schumacher for that "parking" stunt during qualifying in Monaco—I can't quite recall who ended up taking the biggest hit from it... hmm, was it Fernando Alonso? Yeah, it was definitely Fernando Alonso.😁

I have to say—even Michael Schumacher didn't lack grit the way Alonso does today.

Back when he had those nasty leg injuries, he wasn't too proud to step back and play second fiddle to Eddie Irvine. The man showed real backbone—something I honestly doubt Alonso could ever manage.

Thinking about it now, compared to the bunch of amateurs running around the grid lately, Schumacher’s mistakes seem almost trivial. It makes him one of my favorite, most respectable figures in the sport. 👍

Personally, though, Alonso has never really done it for me... he's just never been my type of driver...

I never said you were...😉

Pata, what does Jenson Button or Lewis Hamilton have to do with the German Grand Prix? And why do you keep bringing them up... 🤷 At least they actually get along privately; they seemed so sweet together on ABC before the race started.
The guys from Ferrari and Red Bull can barely stand being in the same room, which honestly makes them way more interesting to watch... 🙂

Fernando Alonso is definitely way worse than both of them combined.👎

It’s pretty obvious to everyone that Fernando Alonso is the main character in F1 lately.. he seems to be involved in everything—espionage, fixing races, you name it.. but honestly, we haven't seen any actual driving from the two-time world champion in quite a while 🤷😁

Man, if only we had actually lived through those days. 😬

Now I'm just sitting here waiting for the locust plague or some other sign that the apocalypse is finally upon us. 😂

Just to be clear from the jump, I'm a huge fan of Schumi, so I know I'm being a little biased😍
But the man is consistent. Even after the race, he told ABC that at the end of the season, there's one winner and they're driving for the title, and he finds that perfectly understandable. He didn't try to act like some moral authority or a hypocrite, throwing shade at how Alonso does things or acting like those other self-righteous types in F1. And realistically, he could have...
Plus, we have to admit that this year he was getting penalized for every little thing, even after Alfonso's legal team tried to push back.

In my opinion, the only fair move would be to strip the points away, then we'll see if teams actually start behaving differently...

You were actually the first one to start throwing insults because you accused McLaren of fixing races—equating that to today's situation without any real evidence. My responses are simply a reflection of my ability to adapt to the tone and match your lack of logic.

Furthermore, sometimes Hamilton is better and sometimes it's Button—I don't see an issue with that, nor is there any proof that one is being favored over the other.

And what was the point of Turkey? When they were running 1-2, why would they bother racing each other when those points aren't even decisive this early in the championship? It seems foolish for them to try and overtake one another at all.

Bravo, Ferrari. Let’s go get that title. Vettel is absolutely nothing compared to what we need here.
This is how actual future champions make their starts... 👍👍👍👍👍

Everyone is just repeating the same mistakes they made back at Ferrari, only now they're doing it more subtly so it doesn't show... hoping even the clueless drivers won't notice. Only Ferrari could screw something up this badly.

Lewis Hamilton being "sweet"... somebody just shoot me.😁

Yeah, sure, they're great guys... until they aren't.🙂 Then we'll all have a good time dealing with the fallout regarding that.🙏 😬

Wow, such a brilliant take.🙄
Did you come up with that all by yourself, or did you have to assemble a whole committee of geniuses to help you?☕

Have you seen that clip where Hamilton basically mocks Jenson Button and the British Royal Family?😁

Or even the one where they're racing remote-control cars—Hamilton spins out, and then Button comes flying in with that "you're flying toward Mark Webber" comment.

Good grief, man, where are you even going with this? 🤣

I guess Alonso is just fundamentally a good guy at heart, but it feels like the whole world has somehow conspired against him. 😳 😬

I'm heading out of this thread. You guys are being way too intense. 😁

Go Ferrari...

There's that one where Louis and Lewis Hamilton are racing head-to-head—Mika was truly a legend to both of them. 😁

I suppose they finally realized that giving Alonso a faster car just increases his shot at winning, but honestly, that’s hardly in the spirit of fair play. Therefore, the penalty is completely justified.
