Too bad we didn't get the version of Wagner we were hoping for—but he still pulls it off here... man, when he goes all out during that explosion near the end and does what any father should do in that spot? I was straight up tearing up...

Even saying "masterpiece" feels like an understatement, because for me, this movie was everything.🙏

The first one was way better

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if we see a third installment...

Personally, I actually preferred the sequel over the original.
To be fair, both are top-tier cinema.
I was genuinely worried they would mess up the follow-up, but they delivered a masterpiece instead.🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

Personally, I find the sequel more brutal because of the underlying message.

I just finished watching the movie, and I have to say, I didn't expect it to top the first one, which I've seen countless times. Man, Americans really know how to make a film 😁

The same thing applies to me. I was bracing myself for a total disaster—kind of like a bad sequel to *Wall Street* 🙄—but this actually surpassed the first installment, which was already great.

Good movie, but in my opinion, the first one was better.

This is an excellent film that offers a refreshing perspective on a familiar theme: systemic corruption. It’s actually a huge plus, because otherwise we would have just ended up with a carbon copy of the first movie. Instead, we get a much more mature take on both the situation and the characters. Captain Nascimento isn't acting quite like he did in the original; his views and methods have to evolve, and that evolution is exactly what makes this sequel a worthy successor.

I haven't quite decided which one I prefer yet. I enjoyed both films. The first was raw and explosive in its storytelling and character beats, whereas this one feels more composed and steady. Still, they share the same driving motivation: exposing a broken system and proving that individuals aren't nearly as helpless as they might seem.

They’re definitely more mature, though maturity doesn't always equate to quality. The first film offered a gritty, grounded look at a tactical unit dismantling drug rings in the slums, whereas the sequel shifts to an office-bound struggle against the system. That whole "one man against the world" trope feels a bit tired and unoriginal to me. Honestly, I found the execution in *The Wire* much more compelling.
Solid enough. 7/10.

Such a great movie!
It’s actually pretty interesting that Seu Jorge pops up in a supporting role as Beirada, especially since he didn't contribute any music to the soundtrack.
I suspect he probably couldn't find the time, given that his album with Almaz was dropping right alongside the film—definitely one I’d recommend checking out.

Does it actually make sense to jump straight into Elite Squad 2 if you haven't seen the first one?
