I'm pretty happy with Alonso in the Ferrari so far; sure, he could've grabbed a few more points here or there, but it doesn't really matter. Massa, though—he's just not quite there for me.

That gap is tiny considering how Renault—and specifically Kubica—can barely make it into the Third Qualifying Session, while both Ferraris cruise into it without breaking a sweat. Given that, Kubica's deficit is actually microscopic.😉

Vitaly Petrov isn't quite on Massa's level, but he's not a complete disaster either. Just look at the gap.
Renault is basically a wildcard like Force India or Williams, occasionally popping up in the top ten. Ferrari? They’re always right there.

With only one race left to close a 21-point gap, that's roughly 9 points under the old scoring system. We can all agree that’s relatively small; you definitely wouldn't call it a massive deficit.😉

These point totals mess with our heads. 20 points looks like a lot, but in reality, even a 50-point gap mid-season isn't necessarily insurmountable. I don't feel like doing the math right now, but if you check Vettel's deficit after seven races last year and convert it to this new system, it would be somewhere around 80-100 points. And we all know he was fighting for the title until the very last race—and that's even with Jenson Button being one of the most consistent scorers out there with maybe only one retirement.

Christian Williams61 said:Well, see, that's where I disagree. To me, the Ferrari is just a bad car this season. There's basically zero development or actual progress happening. Everyone expected the rest of the field to be chasing Ferrari down, but it’s not happening at all. That’s on them. And by extension, it's on Alonso too, since he hasn't really helped them find that extra gear or maybe he just isn't clicking with the setup like he did back at Renault. 😬 And like I said before, I think if Alonso hadn't struggled to settle in at Ferrari, all this wouldn't be happening. It’s not entirely on him. 😉

A bad car? 🤣
Go tell that to the fans of Williams Racing, Renault, Scuderia Toro Rosso, Force India, HRT, Lotus F1 Team, Virgin Racing, Mercedes-AMG Petronas, or Sauber. 🤣
That car is sitting pretty at 3rd for power, sometimes even better. If they can't capitalize on an opportunity, that's not anyone's fault. Their performance in Monaco is just as pathetic as Red Bull's showing in Turkey. ☕
By your logic, Red Bull Racing is a total disaster. 😉

So Massa is bad, and Alonso is some kid being forced into mistakes that are totally out of character for him? That has nothing to do with the car.
One bad race on a track that clearly doesn't suit them doesn't mean the car is trash. Just like how this track clearly suits Williams Racing doesn't mean their car is suddenly a beast that's somehow better than Mercedes-AMG Petronas or Force India. 😉

TBF, get real. Half of what you’re typing makes zero sense. Look, their car isn't perfect. If it were, they wouldn't be sitting at 3rd in terms of pace on this track. 🙂 And no, I don't think Red Bull Racing is a bad car—it's just that Webber and Vettel are being a bit clumsy, and their race strategy is even worse. 😍
Did I ever actually say I was trying to justify Alonso's mistakes? I'm talking about the errors themselves, but even if the car is great—which, let's be honest, it isn't exactly 😉—it should be in the same league as the top tier (Red Bull Racing and McLaren Racing), which we can clearly see it isn't. ☕
I just don't get why you aren't analyzing why Dedonja drove so poorly today. No, you're just obsessed with Alonso. We'll see how the car behaves tomorrow, whether Alonso slips up again, and who actually had it right.

Who says any car is perfect?🙄 If you look at the big picture, they’re actually looking better than Red Bull Racing. They're more reliable and way gentler on the tires, even if they struggle a bit during the Third Qualifying Session or fall slightly behind during the race. It's not perfect, obviously, but let's be real—they aren't exactly lagging behind Red Bull Racing and McLaren Racing either. All three teams are basically neck-and-neck most of the time. Sure, Red Bull Racing has a massive edge in qualifying, but when it comes to the actual race, that gap disappears. And hey, don't act like everyone else is perfect; their strategy calls and qualifying runs are far from flawless too.

Ask the crew over at McLaren. They know exactly how to capitalize on Red Bull Racing's mistakes. Alonso just can't pull it off—that's his own damn problem, not an issue with the car.

If you think Sebastian Vettel and Mark Webber are total clowns, then what exactly does that make Fernando Alonso?
Alonso’s making more mistakes than Sebastian Vettel this season. His car is clearly slower, sure, but at least it actually finishes races—unlike Vettel's.

Why on earth am I even bothering to comment on Grandfather? This season, he’s been so bad that "bad" doesn't even cover it. He's performing worse than Karun Chandhok, Jarno Trulli, or Heikki Kovalainen. Honestly, I don't see the point in beating him down while he's already face-planting on the floor. 🤷

Ferrari’s got a decent car, but their lineup is easily the worst of the top three. Honestly, looking at the top four, they might even be the weakest link there, though I'd probably put them right up there with Mercedes.

They’ve got a solid car. Honestly, they have a machine that handles tires better than anyone else on the grid—they could practically run an entire race on a single set, while everyone else is struggling just to make it through two. Sometimes the rest of the pack can't even manage that. The car is fast, too; they can hang with the best and actually put them under pressure out on the track.

When it comes to development, they’ve got Mr. Six-Tenths. They have the most money, the deepest history, and more experience than anyone else. Honestly, what kid could possibly mess that up?

You’re being totally contradictory. How was Alonso supposed to overtake Sebastian Vettel in that first race regardless of the technical issues on Vettel's car? That’s what Alonso fans are claiming—and honestly, I think you're leaning that way too. But now, suddenly, that exact same car is complete junk.🤷 How exactly are you supposed to keep pace with the leaders if you can't even stay on their tail? And seriously, how does a bad car end up sitting in 5th or 6th place in Monaco? If that's your definition of a "bad car," then your standards are somewhere in the gutter.🤣

Look, let’s be real: Alonso absolutely trashed his chances in a race where he had a dominant car. I mean, it was ridiculously dominant. If it wasn't for that one massive mistake of his, he’d probably be leading the championship right now. But hey, instead, we're stuck talking about how bad the car was. 😉

So, Alonso keeps whining about the car's development, but honestly, give me a break. Just look at where Massa ended up compared to where Grandfather, Rosberg, Kubica, Button, and even Sutil finished. Those guys were consistently either ahead of him or right on his tail. It’s not just about having a bad car.

Based on how things are looking, Ferrari's car at this track should be fast enough to land at least one, if not both, drivers on the podium. Instead, they couldn't even crack the top three in qualifying. They’re definitely supposed to be faster than McLaren Racing, so this is a massive fail on their part.

So you're saying Mark Webber and Sebastian Vettel aren't bad? Wait, then how can you call drivers on the exact same team "different" when they're literally crashing into each other?? And yeah—your precious, perfect, little, sweet Sebastian Vettel messes up just as much as Fernando Alonso does. You can't keep making excuses for him by saying he's still young or needs more time to learn—he’s old enough to act like a respectable driver at this point. ☕
You claimed you weren't underselling Alonso's talent, but now you're out here saying Ferrari has the worst lineup of the top three teams?! Isn't that a bit contradictory, don't you think? If Alonso isn't capable because he makes mistakes, then where exactly should he be driving?! Honestly, please, go cool off or grab a beer to settle your nerves. And quit clinging to those "Alonso's 0.6 seconds" like a drunkard. ☕ Come on, imagine—he overestimated his own abilities. Is he really the only one who ever did that??

What do you even want me to say to you now? I already told you clearly—ALONSO MAKES MISTAKES AND HE IS RESPONSIBLE FOR HIS OWN ERRORS (for the 200th time 😠). But if the car were actually on par with McLaren or Red Bull Racing, he'd be driving like himself. ☕ Sure, the car is reliable and the tires hold up, but it's not all Alonso's fault, it's not. ☕ As a driver, he makes errors, and yeah, sometimes he fails to deliver even when the car has the potential—but saying the car is always perfect? NOPE!
If he gets under your skin that much, just stop writing about him. You're obsessing over him like a total fanatic.
I honestly regret even getting into this debate with you. Just stick to your little theory that Alonso is solely responsible for such a terrible Ferrari, and leave me in peace.

No. It's Mercedes 🤷.

Obviously, my heart is with Ferrari. I really thought we’d squeeze out a little more performance there. But hey, as they say, at the end of the day, only the results matter.

👋

I'll only reply to that one point with a counter-question: please enlighten me, exactly how many millimeters of space were left when those two Ferrari drivers collided entering the pits? And what do you think would have happened if Massa had just stubbornly forced his position in that situation? 😉

The difference between that "genius" move and Vettel's "stupid" one is basically zero. The only real difference is the second driver: one is a natural who pissed everyone off, while the other is the type who refuses to give an inch to anyone.

Anyway, I won't mess with you any further—don't want your blood pressure spiking right before your exams. I'm done. 😳
