Mad Max 1: "If you start tearing through metal, you'll need about twelve minutes. But if you go after the leg, you might still have some time left"... 🙏

Wait, did I just hear someone say Michael Madsen in Reservoir Dogs? "Torture you? That's a good idea, i like that One." Seriously... what a line.

Did anyone mention Philosophy of a Knife? I saw a comment saying, "After this movie SAW will look like a Disney cartoon." I haven't actually seen it yet...

My bad, I think I saw it mentioned on the previous page...
The movie is pretty brutal, basically designed as a four-hour marathon ode to suffering... if you can avoid it, maybe just don't watch it...

Does anyone happen to know the title of this movie? It’s just a short clip/insert.

It looks like you guys have already covered pretty much all the good torture scenes.
As soon as I saw this thread title, that one scene from Payback popped into my head—you know, the one where the guy is absolutely brutalizing Mel Gibson by smashing his toes with a hammer? Daammn. 😁

Yeah... that's a brutal one... but here's the kicker... it's actually missing from the director's cut. Honestly, it feels like a completely different movie without it.

James Bond Casino Royale. Hahaha, while the guys at the theater certainly weren't laughing, I personally found myself absolutely dying...

When that Nazi doctor is torturing Dustin Hoffman, smashing his teeth while asking him, "is it safe?" in the marathon runner movie.

If we’re going to dive into topics like this, we absolutely have to start with Passion. I mean, the way Mel Gibson depicted the crucifixion of Jesus was just unreal—honestly, it was almost mesmerizing. All that blood, the whips, the nails... it's intense.

First place? Please, it’s obvious you haven't even bothered to watch any Japanese cinema 😁

Seriously, there isn't a single movie that was harder for me to sit through than that one.
I managed to tough out two full hours before I basically had to take a breather just to stay sane. I never finished the second two hours, and honestly, I don't think I ever will.
That rape scene in Irreversible LOL? Just look at that scene with the bee and the woman, or when they pull all her teeth out one by one for like twenty straight minutes—shot so realistically it feels like a documentary. Don't even get me started on Monica Bellucci after that. 🙂.

Other nasty ones: Guinea Pig : Flowers of Flesh and Blood, Audition (plus those other Miikeov flicks I've seen, which are definitely not normal), Cannibal h—though the cannibalism isn't even as bad as the scenes where they kill actual animals on screen, and Salo—but yeah, all of those feel like picture books compared to Philosophy.

Did anyone bring up A Man Called Horse with Richard Harris? The scene I’m thinking of isn't actually torture, but that so-called "sun dance ritual" where the Sioux Indians proved their bravery to join the adult world. Harris basically volunteers for the whole thing just to be accepted by the tribe. It’s one of those things that really sticks with you...

For me, Dustin Hoffman in Marathon runner stays with me, along with Gibson and Monica Bellucci. I'll probably think of something else later.

I can't quite recall the title of the movie since I saw it back when I was just a kid in the 80s... but I will never, ever forget that one specific scene. Honestly, ever since that day, I've had a massive phobia of mice. Basically, they hang this guy up, tie a pot around his torso with a mouse trapped inside, and then the guy takes a blowtorch and starts heating the pot until the mouse goes absolutely insane and starts tearing its way through the victim's insides until he dies... It was sick.

It wasn't really torture, it was just short and impactful

Directors who make movies like Cannibal Holocaust, where they actually go out and kill animals, could probably remake Hostel without feeling a shred of guilt. Honestly, seeing people get killed in a movie doesn't bother me at all, but slaughtering animals? That’s just low, even for us humans.

I also find myself frequently returning to the memory of Quasimodo’s suffering in the film featuring the bell ringer Virgin church. It truly is an utterly heartbreaking scene, witnessing someone who has endured a lifetime of torment being treated with such cruelty. It’s just deeply tragic. That is all I wanted to add, best regards! 🙂
