What I am curious about is whether there are any other films out there that have utilized this specific frequency to enhance the sense of surrealism for the audience?

Pearl Harbor. Though I don't think they actually used the frequency.

What was the name of that one movie where two kids basically torture that mobster Kovac? "do Koska," I think it was called... just about an hour of pure, intense suffering!

What frequency are we talking about? ...

There is. Resident Evil. If you watch the DVD, there's a short interview featuring Marilyn Manson. Manson composed a significant portion of the soundtrack (while Beltram handled the rock elements, Manson did the main theme and those unsettling sounds that pop up throughout the movie), and he embedded certain frequencies in several scenes that the human ear can't actually register, yet they are designed to induce nausea. Some viewers actually did report feeling sick, though it wasn't strictly because of the frequency alone. 🙂

You know, that whole scene involving the chair, a rope, and a certain... sensitive area?😁

you talking about this?

The absolute worst torture scene is in The Hills Have Eyes 2. They just kill all the guys off immediately, but they leave the women alive just to rape them, force them to have these mutant babies, and then kill them after. Honestly, I’d rather be a guy in that movie so I could just get slaughtered right away and be done with it.

Well, look at you go. That might actually be the only movie out there—besides "Guinea pig"—where the entire plot is basically just someone getting tortured.
It’s pretty much the same vibe as "Swimming with sharks," where some kid gets bullied so hard by his boss (that unforgettable Spacey performance) that he decides the only solution is to kidnap him and take his revenge.

Guys, I watched 'Irreversible' today.
That fire extinguisher scene? Absolutely brutal. And that rape scene is just pure horror, especially when you realize at the end she was pregnant. 😠 😢
Look, I’m not a feminist, but honestly, you men can be total monsters sometimes, and maybe you need to be knocked down a peg with a fire extinguisher every once in a while. 😍
But since we’re on the topic of annoying soundtracks, the music in Irreversible is definitely fucking grating from start to finish.

What was your life even for? A bunch of lilacs? You really think I'm buying that crap?😂

To me, the ultimate horror show ever directed by Ivo Sanders is definitely this one:

NIGHT OF THE DEAD VOTERS...

I mean, just imagine the nightmare of having to drag yourself out of the grave when you're already dead... absolutely chilling.

ps. Apparently, they're already prepping the sequel.

lonelynx44 said:yeah, okay—but which scene is the ultimate cliché? for me, it’s definitely Hostel 2 when that girl gets her hair sliced off and starts washing up in blood!!! but honestly? it's such a blast to watch regardless. Hostel 2 absolutely rips. 😍

That's actually based on a legend—supposedly true—about Countess Elizabeth Bathory. She used her servants to hunt down young women, killing them just so she could bathe in their blood in a desperate attempt to stay young. The movie Stay Alive plays with this concept by turning it into a deadly video game. If you die in the game, you die in real life. Worth a watch.

Never actually seen that one,
but the whole setup reminds me of do Koska.

I definitely walked away from Resident Evil feeling quite unsettled.

I can't help but wonder if that scene where the cop tortures the guy who was actually the muscle for Bruce Willis could have been filmed in some kind of gritty cinematic version of Hell. In that scenario, the guy would probably vow revenge by promising to bring in two drug dealers to "interrogate" him using nothing but heavy-duty pliers and a flashlight. I suppose that would have made for a pretty unforgettable moment, wouldn't it?

Maybe Quentin Tarantino was just too high and totally blanked on filming that scene 😬

I suppose I should probably offer some sort of commentary here, though I'm rarely one for much fanfare. It seems we’re just beginning. kaže:
The excessive violence in the film *Banović Strahinja* was quite frankly hard to watch. 😲

It is truly remarkable how this film has managed to fly under everyone's radar. It’s clear that very few people have actually sat down to watch it... and honestly, perhaps it’s better that way.

I can't remember if that massacre was in Resident Evil 1 or 2.

There are plenty of ways to torture someone that are way more intense, but whenever I think about Missery and those ankle-breaking scenes, it honestly makes my skin crawl.

I usually expect this kind of stuff in horror movies, but this one actually hit me where it hurts. I can't even remember which flick had that scene where they just hammer away at a guy's hands and fingers—ugh, brutal.

There’s a ton of stuff out there, but this is what’s stuck in my head right now.

Ichi the Killer is absolutely brutal when he starts tearing things apart, but I guess that’s just a side note for now...😁I definitely watched Hostel...
