That was just some Xanax I saw. I ended up taking it last night because it was the only way to actually pass out, though I fought it for a while—didn't want to resort to that when I'd already spent half the night staring at the ceiling. Now I'm just feeling totally groggy today.
Is it okay if I ask about other stuff? Like anxiety or depression? It all feels like the same endless loop anyway.

You know, when those heavy psychological issues start piling up all at once... you just kind of break. Honestly. After that first pill of Normabel, I felt totally fine... like, everything was golden. But man... it got to the point where the only way I could actually function was by mixing two Misars with three Normabels. You really have to watch yourself with those kinds of pills... they're basically just a quick fix for the moment, nothing more.

Been there, done that.
That’s exactly why I like having them on hand. But since I’m just grinding through this exam season until mid-January, I might toss down some 2 mg Diazepam before bed if the tension gets too much.
Heading to see my doctor in a few days.

My doctor kept trying to push me toward a psychiatrist... and I was just like, "No way," and honestly? I didn't go. It’s more that I’m terrified of what they might actually tell me. I remember the first time I took some Xanax, I had this huge midterm coming up, and it was like magic... I absolutely crushed it 😂

Maybe if you just found yourself a man, life would be easier and you’d actually get some sleep for once.
We all deal with stress; you just have to push through it and move on.

Thanks, babe, I've had this for 11 years already.
I don't know what kind of stress you're dealing with if you can just brush it off like that. Honestly, it’s pretty low, dropping jokes about my actual problems.

Stress is a universal experience; you just have to power through it and push it to the back burner.

What kind of absolute nonsense is this? Honestly, what a disaster. Does it not embarrass you even a little bit to type out such utter stupidity?

Noah Harris50—I’m dealing with the exact same struggle. Specifically, I just cannot get my brain to shut off and fall asleep. There was a period where I found that having a glass of red wine before bed did the trick, but since I’ve started this new diet, that’s completely off the table. My doctor suggested trying Person instead. It’s entirely natural, just a blend of various herbs, and honestly, I wouldn't have believed how much they actually HELP!!!

Noah Harris50, try not to let this get to you too much; there isn't a whole lot you can do about it. Some people are just naturally bad sleepers, and if you start stressing over the lack of rest, you're just creating a vicious circle. It’s entirely possible you have Restless Leg Syndrome, which affects more than 15% of the population. That tingling sensation in your legs can definitely trigger extra anxiety.
It also keeps you from falling asleep. From what I understand, it shares some roots with Parkinson, but that doesn't necessarily mean anything serious. Try finding a Tai Chi Yang class; there's a movement called "walking clouds" that is great for helping you unwind before bed. Alternatively, some simple breathing exercises might work.
Pills are fine if your goal is to turn yourself into an emotional zombie. Every case is unique, though—you'll have to experiment to find what works for you. Chopra has written a great book on the subject.
Hope this helps.
By the way, who wrote the quote in your signature? Very nice! :-)

Don't be naive... forget those "mild" Ambien pills and all that garbage. They just strip away your most critical sleep cycles if you use them regularly... they basically slow your brain down to a crawl.
fuck that shit
Instead, just go grab some high-quality cannabis, roll one up, put on some chill music, and you'll be sleeping like a baby...
Ditch the chemicals.👍

..come on, don't rush into using meds or pills right away... you really just need to find a way to relax. It sounds like some stress is weighing you down pretty heavily, and things will eventually work themselves out... when you head to bed, just try to clear your mind... maybe have some chamomile tea or a glass of milk with a little chocolate before sleep... I think it might just be all in your head... so just take a few deep breaths, calm down, stop overthinking everything, and get some rest...

...back when I was just a kid, stress gave me gastritis and all sorts of other issues; I couldn't sleep and ended up losing a ton of weight... then I spent a week out in the mountains getting some fresh air, stopped worrying about everything, and felt like a whole new person...🙂

Maybe you should give relaxation techniques like autogenic training or even yoga a shot. It might take a little while before your sleep cycle actually resets, but it’s a hell of a lot healthier than relying on pills. If you can swing it, I'd recommend finding a local yoga class to attend at least once a week; eventually, you can just practice the movements at home. 👍

Sleep isn't usually an issue for me. It’s just when I'm stressed out that I start getting those weird jerks right as I'm drifting off. Anyone else deal with that?

You're right, my mistake—you actually phrased it clearly. We misread your point, which made it look like we were just tossing out random sleep advice.😳

So, I'm into yoga. I hit the pavement for a 45-minute run three times a week, blast some chill music, and knock out about 10 minutes of meditation daily.
I kick things off every morning with some Sun Salutations.

Noah Harris50 said:Whenever I’m stressed out and exhausted, I hit the sack thinking I'm finally gonna pass out, but then my body just jolts me awake. It’s like this sudden, violent twitch right as I'm drifting off, and it happens over and over again. Honestly, now I’m just lying there getting anxious about it—scared of the jerk itself and terrified I won't get any sleep at all when I clearly need it.
Anyone else dealt with this crap? How do you handle it?

I’m dealing with the exact same thing. I really want to know if anyone else goes through this. Once I finally manage to drift off after a few tries, I sleep fine all night—no waking up, feeling okay in the morning. It’ll happen for a few days straight, then nothing for weeks, then it hits again... The worst part is that initial moment. When it first happens while I'm falling asleep, that fear of trying again kicks in. Actually, the fear hits the second that jerk wakes me up... there's this weird sensation in my head. It's hard to put into words—just a terrible feeling.
I've scoured the internet, but I can't find anything like this. Someone mentioned Restless Leg Syndrome, but I don't think that's it for me. Most other explanations seem to be about staying asleep, not the actual process of falling asleep...

I happened to stumble upon an article mentioning how a deficiency in calcium and magnesium can frequently trigger muscle cramps. It was specifically discussing how those brief, minor spasms can disrupt the transition into sleep. Apparently, researchers didn't even realize the connection until they started monitoring subjects who were struggling with sleep issues. Both Ca and Mg are excellent for promoting relaxation anyway.
It’s not a guaranteed fix, but it certainly helps. Just a thought.
Best to everyone.

I took a couple of Xanax, some Melatonin, and a Person....

The second they kicked in, I started hallucinating—it was like sinking into a dream filled with visions of battlefields, trenches, ambulances, and ammo. Honestly, I was just lying there in bed, but it felt like I was tucked away in a foxhole.... such an incredible feeling... even seeing things like barbed wire... etc....👍

Look, man, if your goal is to turn into a zombie, then pills are definitely the fastest way to get there. Keep smiling.🤣
