Sure, she’s hot, but she’s completely vacuous. There's zero charisma there. I mean, we're talking about *Helen of Troy* here, for crying out loud! A woman in that role should have a presence so commanding that one single smile makes you feel like you need her permission just to breathe.

Oh, please, you totally agree! Setting aside Monica Bellucci, even you admitted that Diane Kruger "isn't bad." Well, Helen of Troy isn't "bad" either. She has to be... HELEN OF TROY! It’s enough to make your jaw hit the floor, like that guy in Maska Kad seeing Cameron Diaz.

It was especially hilarious when Helen tells Paris something along the lines of, "Yes, you're young and ambitious, that's why you say that." As if—the girl is probably five years *younger* than him. 😁

It’s an image that stuck with me for a reason. For some reason, it immediately brought the Walker Texas Ranger to mind... and ever since then, in my head, he's always been Achilles Walker The Ranger.

The movie is decent enough, though I suspect they overstuffed it with unnecessary character drama...
Agamemnon isn't nearly the coward he’s portrayed as in The Iliad, and neither is his brother; the film just makes them look like petty jerks who pick fights with everyone they meet.🙄
At times, Paris actually comes across as somewhat likable, which I guess is a brilliant bit of subversion, considering anyone who has actually read The Iliad knows he's easily one of the worst characters—right up there with Apollo and Aphrodite, who barely even show up here...
Personally, I think it would have been better if they had included some of the gods so we could actually see those thugs in action.
Besides, Achilles could probably charge into Apollo's temple all by himself since he's practically invincible.😁

Honestly, this movie was a total letdown. I went in with such high expectations, but what we actually got was just... meh. Even Brad Pitt feels completely out of place in roles like this; it just doesn't sit right 👎 👎 👎

I basically just threw my money straight into the trash for this one 😢

You won't believe this, but I actually went to see Troy again. The whole thing was just way too much 🙂...

I mean, look, I still think the film is great—and I want to be clear, there’s a difference between me personally liking it and the movie being objectively "good"... please notice that distinction!!!—but...

Man, whenever I see those planes flying overhead, I can't help but get seriously worried about what those massive millions were actually wasted on 😉

And honestly, I think they totally missed the mark with Brad Pitt's casting in this one...
If they had just darkened his hair a bit and given him some stubble instead of that perfectly groomed look, maybe he could have pulled it off without any trouble, but the way it is now, it just feels unconvincing.

It's pretty obvious why I didn't catch that the first time around. I guess you know why 😁

He totally is a coward, though, because he needed Aphrodite's help just to run off with the Queen (instead of his own brother), and let's be honest, he's a coward because he wouldn't have even touched Achilles if Apollo hadn't guided that arrow for him.
And that little coward spent the whole time hiding away in the city, letting his brother fight all his battles for him. The only actual combat he saw was from behind the walls when he let Apollo aim that shot...

It’s honestly such a struggle being a history major and having to sit through these cheap-ass American movies🙄 🙂

That's exactly my point. Now, just imagine if LoTR had been produced with this kind of budget. The Film doesn't hold up to actual history or the epic scale it claims, but at least LoTR looks impressive, even if nothing else.

As for the rest of the movie, I spent more time sitting in the theater fuming with rage than actually enjoying myself 🙄 👎
The team behind the scenes clearly had no clue what they were doing, so they basically shoved popcorn and a soda into my hands just to get me to shut up 😁
The last good movie I saw was Master and Commander—unless you count anime, because I don't view those as just cartoons, then the last thing I watched that was actually great was Berserk

Otherwise, my all-time favorite is 13th Warrior😁
