Are we even watching the same movie? The first one had some pretty meh music with maybe a few cool bits here and there, but the second one is basically just one long parade of recycled stuff... things you've already heard. Look, it's not bad—it fits the vibe—but it’s nothing special...

If we're talking all-time great soundtracks though, I'd put Star Wars: Episode IV at the top... and I'm not even a huge fan of those movies, but hey, facts are facts—that score is insane. Some movies might have better individual tracks, but that Star Wars score has at least 3 or 4 absolute bangers, so it wins on pure quality and quantity...

Also, gotta mention The Thin Red Line... Hans Zimmer is way more underrated than people think. There's this one killer track that kicks in right around the 20-minute mark...

The Godfather is great... but for me, the most perfectly "hit the mark" soundtrack has to be Halloween! 😲

Conan - Basil Poledouris
Is absolutely top-tier.
Underground—Martin Scorsese actually makes real art; he completely immerses you in that era.
Star Wars for everyone (especially Episode IV)—does that even require an explanation?
The Nightmare Before Christmas (this reminds me of one specific thing)—Danny Elfman is pure genius.
Run Lola Run—The Law of Playing, though I can't recall the composer.
Das Boot—that score eventually evolved into that "song" U96 - Das Boot.
2001: A Space Odyssey—needs no introduction. 🙂
That music from those Agatha Christie films featuring Hercule Poirot—it is absolutely phenomenal!
I could probably list more if I actually sat down and thought about it...

Honestly, if I’m looking at the big picture, nothing ever hits quite like the soundtracks from Yann Tiersen’s *Amelia* or those classic Ennio Morricone scores from the *Wild West*.
When it comes to directors, the guys who actually get the music right? For me, it’s always been Stanley Kubrick, Sergio Leone, and David Lynch.
