I need a little bit of help here. So, basically, I ended up at a private OB-GYN last night because my stomach was absolutely killing me. Since I was already on my period, they did an ultrasound right away and—boom—they spotted this massive cyst on my right ovary. It’s just fluid-filled, totally benign, the whole nine yards... but... man, my stomach is in total agony. Yesterday and today have both been brutal... plus, I have this constant, gnawing sensation like my entire insides are just falling apart. My bowels are hurting, my bladder is acting up... they sent me home with some Sumamed, followed by another antibiotic, and some vaginal suppositories.
These gut pains, I don't know, they feel kind of weird. I've had two bowel movements so far—softer than usual, but not quite full-blown diarrhea... I don't know. Everything just feels off. Is it actually possible that all this pain is just coming from the cyst?

Most likely. Between your period and that large cyst, it’s totally understandable that you're in pain. I always feel that same kind of pressure on my bowels when I'm on my period.

Let me add my own experience to the mix.
Hopefully, this helps ease some of your anxiety a little bit.
I was just in for my routine annual physical.
During the exam, my ovary felt tender to the touch.
So, I went in for an ultrasound, and the technician mentioned there was some thickening on that same ovary.
Then she told me I needed to get some blood markers checked.
She did say there was no need to worry, though.
Yeah, right. As if.
I had the tests done on Monday, and the results came back today, but since I’m not currently in Cleveland, I haven't picked them up yet.
As soon as the results crossed my mind today, the panic started setting in.
And just to make things more "interesting," I’ve been a long-time sufferer of Irritable Bowel Syndrome.

Anyone who knows much about this knows that the symptoms of ovarian cancer are virtually identical to those of IBS.
Well, I only realized that connection today.
And now, I am absolutely terrified.
Because I have been dealing with those exact same symptoms for thirteen years.
Dammit, how did I not notice the difference?

Arghhhh...

If you were thirteen, cancer would have finished you off by now. Don't panic. I’m a worrier too and I always jump to the worst-case scenario, but that isn't helpful. You're just making things harder on yourself. Everything is going to be fine.🙂

No, no, that's not what I meant. What I actually said was that I've had Irritable Bowel Syndrome for 13 years, so yeah, by definition, I might not be able to accurately interpret my own symptoms...
But of course, I still feel the need to spiral and panic...

I need some help here... A few months ago, the pain was absolutely killer about 10 days before my period started. Total misery—nausea, back pain, even shooting pains down my leg. Once my period actually arrived, the pain finally started to ease up. I’ve always had painful ovulations, so I figured it was just that again, even though this felt way worse than usual. One time I actually ended up in the ER, and of course, it was a cyst, but it cleared up on its own...

Then, two cycles ago, the exact same thing happened, only even more intense. No pill could touch it. The only thing that helped was lying in one specific position. I ended up back in the ER, where the gynecologist told me I had just started my period, but she saw something on my left ovary. She said it might just be related to my cycle and could be normal... 😲 But she still told me to come back once my period finished.

Well, a few days after my period started, the pain stopped. I went in for a follow-up, and turns out it really was a 3 cm cyst. She told me to go get my tumor markers checked (haven't gone yet) and offered me birth control, which I turned down since I'm planning on having a baby soon. The next cycle was totally fine, so clearly everything was happening on the other ovary.

And now, here we go again. I can feel that pain in my left ovary right now, and my period isn't due for another 10 days or so. I have no idea what meds to take! I tried Spazmeks, which usually helps with my ovulation pain, but it's barely doing anything. I read that girls deal with much bigger cysts too. Do you guys get this kind of pain? What do you take when it hits?

Help me, I'm seriously losing my mind trying all these different pills...

Can someone please tell me where else besides the Vineland or St. Jude areas I can get an ovarian ultrasound done using my insurance? I'm trying to schedule something in advance. :-/ Maybe they could just start me on therapy based solely on the ultrasound results... what do you guys think?? Because if I have to go through the whole hormone blood panel, it means I’ll have to miss yet another period before I can actually begin treatment.. and my hair is literally falling out... I've been using those Vichy ampoules for a few days now, but I highly doubt they'll do much until I get this internal stuff sorted out. 😢

It keeps messing with me too—it starts right around when I miss ovulation, but it doesn't just last one day... it kind of lingers on and off for a few days after, almost every single month 🙄

From what I've heard, if you can afford to pay out of pocket, it isn't terribly expensive. The issue is that waiting lists at the hospitals are incredibly long, which is difficult if you need something handled urgently...

After participating in two other threads, this is the main one. 😁

I went to see Dr. Ginić about a month ago because of pain near my right ovary. It turned out to be a cyst, measuring 51x34 mm, filled with fluid, with normal blood flow and an R.I. of 0.83; there was no free fluid in Douglas's pouch. Does that sound okay?
I'm going to pick up my CA 125 results this Monday, and I'm quite anxious. I have a feeling the cyst hasn't ruptured, so what happens if the CA 125 comes back elevated? I'm starting to panic a little, and Monday feels so far away...

Apparently, Vitex tea is supposed to be the holy grail for all those feminine issues—well, I’ve personally dealt with every single symptom imaginable over the last seven years, riding this constant rollercoaster of things getting better and then suddenly crashing again.

If you're looking to do some actual healing work on your body, go ahead and do a little deep dive online regarding green clay. It’s killer for detoxing and wiping out cysts or any other weird growths—honestly, I’m pretty sure my cellulite has even shrunk because of it. You can pick up the food-grade stuff for oral use (I think they sell it in 1lb packs) and then grab the heavy-duty 6lb tubs for external stuff like masks or baths. Treat your body right, let go of all that resentment toward yourself and everyone else, and just pay attention to how you feel. (Seriously, do something nice for your body every single day. Whether it's a mindful shower, a high-end face mask, or just staring in the mirror and actually liking what you see... okay, that last one is probably the hardest part, but you gotta practice. The payoff is massive!)

Has this actually been verified? I mean—have you personally tried this and managed to get any real results out of it?

So, about two weeks ago, I got this sharp, stabbing pain right in my lower abdomen. It hit me so hard I couldn't even stand up straight; I had to practically crawl to the bathroom, and even just trying to pee was agonizing. I barely managed to catch some sleep, and it took like half an hour before things settled down. Since then, I’ve been getting these shooting pains—sometimes on the left, sometimes on the right—that really sting, followed by this dull, heavy ache. Look, I’m not a hypochondriac; I don't go running to the doctor every time I sneeze, but now I'm stuck wondering if I actually need to see a gynecologist. Plus, with a little kid running around, finding the time to sit in a waiting room is basically impossible.
Maybe it's just a cold? Or could it be from the Yas? Honestly, whenever I deal with my period—like when I had that massive issue where it lasted 7 days straight—I ended up sleeping through it on pills because the cramps were just brutal. Those periods were nothing compared to this (sorry for the phrasing). ☕

p.s. One of my ovaries has PCOS, but my OBGYN told me there wasn't anything to worry about. Now, I'm starting to second-guess everything.

My mom has cysts on both ovaries—about 6cm each—along with some pretty severe inflammation. Her gynecologist prescribed some pills, though I guess they might just be meant to clear them out... I'm just a bit confused, though. It seems like most of you deal with late periods when you have cysts, but she isn't getting hers at all and is in massive pain... we're also currently waiting on her PAP test results ☕ btw, she hasn't reached menopause yet, so I wonder, could these cysts potentially cause more serious issues?

I wasn't even feeling any pain—they just happened to find a clean scan and then suddenly my markers started jumping all over the place, swinging from 44 up to 86. I basically gave up everything I loved in life—switched to a plant-based diet, was chugging leeks and Vitex drops, even went to bioenergy sessions—and everything finally settled down. Then, I hit this massive wave of stress and boom, it all came roaring back. It’s ridiculous—some doctors want to surgically remove everything because I’m 43 and apparently "don't need it anymore" (their words, not mine!), others want to do a laparoscopy, while some just want to watch it develop like a science experiment. Honestly, I'm losing my mind with all these endless checkups—I don't want to go anywhere because nothing actually hurts! But then, this month, after about 15 days, I got this nasty discharge that turned into a total flood around day 19. My cycles have always been super short, too. Some people are even telling me it's all just in my head.🤷

It’s been three weeks now, and I’ve been dealing with this constant aching in my right ovary along with pain in my groin and leg. I went to see my gynecologist; the PAP test came back fine, but during the ultrasound, they spotted a shadow. She mentioned it might be a fibroid, but said if my cycles are regular and everything else seems normal, there's likely nothing to worry about. However, she advised that if the pain persists, I should get blood work done and then follow up with her again. Honestly, the fear is starting to sink in.

Last month, I was also being tormented by pain in my groin, though I haven't managed to make it to Ginić's office yet. I am preparing for an ultrasound in a few days to see if there is anything going on. Last summer, I had a cyst, took some medication, and it cleared up. I am unsure if we are dealing with something similar now, but whenever my bladder is full, I feel it precisely in my ovary. Is that actually possible, and how much could it affect everything else? Everything else seems regular, so I haven't been overly concerned about it...

There are some specialists in Washington, D.C. who focus on this; they aren't exactly high-profile in the media, but they are worth consulting. For matters regarding the urogenital tract, certain teas combined with calendula tend to be quite effective, as it is excellent for that specific area...😉

Has anyone dealt with hair loss because of an ovarian cyst? Mine is falling out like I just finished chemo, and I’ve got a 2.4 cm cyst on my ovary. Could that actually be causing this?
