Need some advice. I usually rock a size 46/48 top and a 44 in pants (C&A sizing).
My main issue is my midsection 😢 plus I'm on the shorter side, about 5'5".
What kind of dress cut would actually look good on me?

I’m a bit smaller than you—standing at 5'5"—but we share the exact same critical flaws 😬. I tend to gravitate toward classic A-line dresses and skirts with varying degrees of fullness. Though, it really depends on your specific build; despite everything, I still have a defined waist, so those styles work for me since they cinch there before skimming over the midsection.

Well, this should cover what you need 🤔. I hit up a wedding a few weeks back and picked up my dress at an Importante—you know, one of those tacky little boutiques 😬. Before that, I grabbed a wedding outfit from Peek & Clopenburg. For my everyday basics? It’s just H&M, C&A, Mango, or Terranova.

They probably have up to a size 48 since that's what I ended up grabbing (for context, I'm a size 42 at Peek, so I assume the sizing at Importanne is a bit off 🤔). But I had to ask a friend to grab it for me, since they didn't have anything out on display 😬.

Has anyone here ordered from the Violeta Mango web shop? What’s your experience been like with their sizing? I’m struggling a bit with their numbers since I've never tried anything from them before and they don't have a standard size chart...

Sounds like you might have an apple shape. I’m basically that type too, though I usually just size up. For me, empire waist dresses always work best—where the waistline starts right under the bust. Maybe nothing too long, maybe just hitting below the knee. You probably want a thicker fabric so it actually holds that shape. Honestly, you don't sound like you're in a bad spot, so you should be able to find something at any mall. Just go in, try stuff on, and you might be surprised.

I've ordered from them before. For sweaters, you kind of just have to look at how they fit the model. T-shirts and button-downs run about a size smaller than, say, what you'd grab at Old Navy. Like, if it says 50, it's probably more like a 48. Also, the sleeves on the shirts are pretty tight around the upper arm. Pants are similar—they run small—though I only ever grabbed jeggings or leggings. The sizes listed seem to be for the biggest ones they carry, like 52 or 54, so I'm not sure about the smaller stuff. Quality-wise, the pants and tops are okay, just average I guess, but honestly, the sweaters were a total letdown.

I had a feeling that might be the case, honestly. I found a few items that seemed alright, but even in the photos, they don't look high-quality enough to justify the price tag. The jeans look okay, but I wouldn't dare buy them without trying them on first... 🤷 anyway, thanks 🙂

Quick update on the H&M over at West Gate.
I swung by today, and honestly, the selection is pretty pathetic. I mainly went in to try on some jeans to figure out my size, but I took a quick look at everything else while I was there. It’s just a handful of tees, some sweaters, hoodies, and jeans. If you weren't already planning to be in the area, I guess don't bother making a special trip.👎

I ended up picking up two at Dick's Sporting Goods, and sometimes you can find decent stuff at Target too.

You can find their clothing line at Dick's Sporting Goods up to 3XL. You really have to try them on though, because the sizing runs a bit small, but they usually have plenty of different styles. I shop there myself for bottoms and those calf-length yoga pants, which go up to $27, and the material is actually great. I once picked up a one-piece swimsuit $33 there, and the two-pieces were either $45 or maybe $16 (don't kill me, I can't quite remember 😵). I usually just head to the mall near me, so I'm not sure what the selection is like out East.

Hey ladies, can anyone recommend where I can pick up some compression shorts or biker shorts in the US? I need something to wear under dresses or skirts because my thighs rub together 😐😉
I checked out H&M, but they only had one size in stock and they just ended up digging into my legs like crazy. I probably need a size 16 or maybe an 18, depending on how the brand fits.
