Look, I’d say I’m a pretty substantial presence in this game—I mean, you've got me, right? I'm definitely not just some tiny little speck in the crowd 😁 And hey, thanks a million 🙂

Need some help😁...where in the US can I find a boutique with wedding dresses and evening gowns that actually cater to plus-size women?😍
Looking for something that isn't tacky, just actual decent styles.😕
Thanks

Hey ladies!
So, I just posted a dress and some pants for sale under the women's section—just thought I’d drop it here in case anyone’s looking to snag something. Feel free to take a peek if you're interested!

Hey, what’s the biggest number we’ve got going in our little slice of Orsay?

So, I'm hunting for some knee-high boots, preferably leather; but there's one huge issue—my calves are way too thick and I can't zip up anything. I get halfway up and then, boom, stuck. If any of you ladies know where I can find some boots that are actually wide at the top, please let me know. Thanks in advance! 🙂

I totally get where you're coming from—my collection is just as intense. 😳 This year I actually managed to snag a few pairs with buckles, though they aren't exactly towering heights. Honestly, most of the time I just stick to boots that have both laces and buckles so I can tie them however I want—loosen them up or cinch them down—or I go for the pull-on style, which usually ends up being pretty roomy anyway. So, maybe give those a shot. 🤷

Maybe check out Macy's😉
I actually picked up a pair just the other day, and honestly, they're great... they have those models where you can adjust the fit, you know, the ones that lace up in the back? They look sharp, super comfortable, and warm too... they've got non-lace versions as well... and they aren't breaking the bank either... $117👍

I’ve got plenty of lists myself, but I actually scored some killer boots a few seasons back at that little shop over by the flower market—they were almost full price, just super wide and black leather. $33 Honestly, even if they're all basically the same styles around Tkalčićeva or Modeline, the prices can vary wildly 😁 so you definitely need to walk around and window shop first! I ended up breaking my leg once and managed to snag a pair from ShoeBeedoo at a decent price, plus some chunky ones from Pitarella that were on sale—kind of a "buy now, pay later" vibe, and they were pretty wide too. Now I just end up wandering all over town trying to find the perfect fit :/

Seriously, go check out Alpine. I found these killer boots there the year before last—and get this—I could actually buckle them up without a massive struggle for once...

feraldriver30 said:I just had to share this... I was out shopping with my mom yesterday at Lady XXL, that store for plus sizes. A regular there recommended it to her. Honestly, they have great stuff and the prices are actually decent compared to some other shops. Plus, it's cool that they sew everything themselves. It’s a solid option for us.👍👍

They apparently launched a website recently, so definitely check it out... www.lady-xxl.com (sorry if links aren't allowed, mods, feel free to delete this if it breaks the rules)

There’s even a flyer on the site for a 10% discount. If you bring it in, you get the deal. The woman at the shop mentioned since the physical flyers aren't ready yet, you can just say you found out about it online to get the discount. Pretty clever.😍
Anyway... supporting local businesses is always a good move, especially when we're constantly bombarded by all those big corporate brands from everywhere else.
😉

I bought some pants there about three or four years ago, mostly just because I needed them, not because I was browsing. $167.
Just basic black pants.$167
From three years ago.
So, if that's considered "affordable"...
I remember getting a little booklet where they stamp it after every purchase $167 (!). After six or ten stamps, you get a generous 10% discount. It's actually a pretty good system. 😢
That said, their prices can be pretty steep sometimes. I'm not a fan of that. It feels like because they're one of the few shops that carry larger sizes, they can afford to act a bit arrogant with their pricing.

And another thing... I'm not feeling the website at all. The models they use—well, at least the ones currently up—mostly look pretty cheap, and honestly, they feel kind of outdated.🤷

Exactly. It’s just a total mess, honestly. They're basically throwing things away at rock-bottom prices.$167.

I think you might have mixed things up, because my mom has been shopping at Fred Meyer for years and I checked with her—she says they've never had those discount booklets. That doesn't sound right... she mentioned that Maxy P used to do stuff like that, though.
I double-checked since she's a total regular there and would definitely know if something like that existed.

Hold on a second... my mom bought exactly what you’re calling a "bag," and trust me, it isn't one. My mom doesn't carry around cheap junk😲.
Just for the record, she paid $99 for the tunic, $73 for the pants, and even got a 20% cash discount on the whole thing.

It feels like a boutique specifically for moms and babes; I’m just not feeling any of it.🤷 From the fabrics and patterns to the colors and cuts... though, I suppose my mother would find plenty there.🙂

Ever since C&A, Takko, and now H&M opened up, I guess I don't worry as much about finding pants that aren't just baggy with an elastic waistband.😬 Up until now, I've been getting my pants at MANI, but they barely lasted a single season. They aren't bad, really—given the price, they're actually quite good.🙏

That was definitely MaxyP—I had that card right there. 😬Unless they've already ripped them off—and honestly, I don't recall seeing that Ducana option even existing a few years back. 🤔

My sincere apologies to everyone.
I let my temper get the better of me and spoke out of turn. Sorry about that.

Look, I'll admit it—those models don't exactly scream "youthful energy." That part stands.

Anyway, sorry again for stirring the pot. 😬

Please accept the apology.

I am looking to find a new home for this postpartum compression garment—it's brand new, by the way! It comes with a lovely cyclamen-colored tunic, size 16, along with a little white shirt/dress combo.

So, yeah... supporting local American businesses is always a good idea, especially when we're constantly being bombarded by all these massive international corporations from every direction...😉

though, to be fair, most of their stock is very traditional "grandma" style... geared toward women 65+
