Where can I find some decent clothes? Not the grandma stuff for my nana who’s headed in for surgery, but something that'll make the local boys' jaws drop when they see me walking by... Looking at the options here in the States, man, my head is spinning 🙂

Hey ladies!
I scrolled through this thread a few pages back, but I couldn't find the specific info I was looking for. So, I guess I should apologize in advance if this has already been covered...
I need a solid, sturdy bra with detachable straps—something that can handle being worn on its own, but I also need those silicone adhesive ones to wear under a wedding dress.
I’ve been buying the Triumph Minimizer for several years now, and I absolutely love it. As for my size, I usually go with a 36D or a 38C, depending on which specific model I'm looking at, I guess.
I was scrolling through Lisa Rivera's page earlier, looking to see if they had... well, I guess you could say I was checking for certain things. Maybe I was just browsing, I don't know. I don't know. Maybe it's just me, but this feels... I guess you could call it "this kind of thing." It’s hard to put my finger on it. Just one of those things. I haven't even started digging through their actual stores yet, though I suppose I should probably see if there are any other spots out there...
Does anyone happen to know where I can pick up a bridal shapewear piece that actually works? And please, for the love of God, don't suggest those Slim'n'Lift Air things they hawk on TV. I tried one during a fitting, and I guess... maybe if you enjoy being physically unable to use the restroom, they're great. But honestly, having to struggle just to go to the bathroom while wearing a wedding dress sounds like a total nightmare. Any real recommendations? 😂

I picked up the exact kind of bra you're looking for at Victoria's Secret—also for a wedding 😍
It's completely smooth and white, plus the straps can be tucked inside, so it looks amazing as a strapless piece.

Try Paris Lingerie over at the shopping center.

They carry Triumph too—really sturdy models, plenty of sizes—but the Triumph ones have three seams, so I'm not sure how they'll look under a wedding dress (worrying about visible lines and all that).

As soon as this snow lets up even a little bit, I’m heading out for some hunting.😂

Just remembered something else—that Anita shop over on Gundulic street has huge sizes, but those bras have soft cups and removable straps (pretty sure they come with clear and white ones in the pack). The thing is, once you take the straps off, if things aren't naturally firm and steady, it just won't hold itself up.

I actually picked mine up at Victoria's Secret $30
it was for a wedding too, actually
usually I wear a 95 C, and when I put this on and smoothed out my wedding dress, everything just stayed perfectly in place, you know? 🙂

Thanks, ladies, but my main concern is whether I can use those clear silicone straps. My wedding dress has these lace straps, so I really need to make sure nothing shows through...

Which H&M location actually had that size in stock?
I was looking through their racks yesterday and the largest they had was a 90C, which is a problem since I typically wear a 90D or 90E. 🙂
It's a shame, because their bras are actually quite nice. 😢

Angela Martin2, how on earth did you miss this?
I was practically shouting about it from the rooftops at weddings when I first ordered it 😕 so where were you? 😂
Anyway, here’s the one I went with: http://www.morilee.com/bridals/julietta/3112
They’re just going to stitch in some straps made from the same lace as the waist appliqué 😍
The straps are mostly just for show, really—just to hide the bra that actually has to do all the heavy lifting 🙂

"I'm a 75D-E. I usually go for the ones with underwire and padding that feels thick but soft, you know? Nothing with those stiff, structured materials. It can be multi-layered, but it really needs to contour to my body, or maybe just that super firm lace."

I feel like I just have to chime in on this one... 😲 Are you actually sure about those measurements, dear? I do most of my shopping at Target, and ever since my band size bumped up to an 85E—it used to be 80E—the staff there always used to give me these looks because I seemed so "small" for such a large cup size... Honestly, I don't think I've ever met anyone who wears a 75 and has a cup that big... My friend has a toddler and she's also an 80 band, so I guess I'm just wondering if it's all about how different brands scale things, or if there are people out there with proportions that make mine look tiny by comparison.😉

I'm a 70-75E. My friend is a 90B. It isn't really about how big your breasts are, it's about the width of your ribcage. When I was carrying an extra 45 pounds, I was wearing an 80E.
Victoria's Secret doesn't carry 70E in every single style, sure, but brands like Triumph, Chantelle, maybe even Anita—plus all those online shops—have them readily available.

Our chests are basically the same size, except Kris and I have narrower backs than you do.

I have two H&M bras. I mistakenly grabbed an 80D without trying it on first, thinking they'd fit, but they looked huge. Sadly, they don't work. My boobs just spill right out of them. 🙄 I mostly just wear them around the house. 🙈 They are comfortable enough and feel sturdy, though.

🤔 Am I actually sure about anything?
Jason Moore63 explained it to you—it’s all about the back. For example, every shirt I own fits perfectly in the front but is way too loose in the back... if I size up to fix that, the whole shape just falls apart.
Look, the whole reason I’m grabbing the 75E is so I can clip it on the widest setting right out of the gate—that way, when it inevitably stretches out, I actually have some room to tighten it back up. If I go with an 80, I’m stuck using the loosest notch from day one... and once that gives way, the thing is basically trash.

I wear an 85D from Etam and an 80E, and they're basically jumping out—it's wild. I've got some Triumph 80Ds that fit pretty well though... but honestly, it all comes down to the cut, how the cup is shaped, and what kind of fabric they use.

When it comes to H&M, you really have to pick carefully. It’s like the same bra size can fit totally different ways—one day it's huge, the next it's perfect, and then one just barely holds everything in... I've got three of theirs and they all fit differently. One's too big, one's just right, and one is basically screaming for mercy... 🤷

It’s true. I’ve got the black eyeliner and the foundation—same exact brand. The black one is a bit larger than the foundation bottle, if that matters. Not that it does. They were expensive as hell, though. $27 I guess I’m not allowed to complain. Not that it matters much anyway. Life just keeps rolling along, doesn't it? One thing after another. You try to find a little bit of footing, maybe catch a break, and then—bam—the rules change again. It’s fine. Really. I’ll just sit here and take it like everyone else does. No use making a scene. Just another day in the grind. 😁

I just had to weigh in on this... 😲 Are you absolutely sure about those measurements, dear? I shop at Target, and ever since my size bumped up to an 85E—well, it would have been an 80E before—the staff there always gave me these looks because I seemed way too "slim" for such a large cup size... Honestly, I've never met anyone who wears a 75 and has a cup that big. My friend has a toddler and she's also an 80, so now I'm genuinely wondering if sizing varies wildly or if there's someone out there with a bust twice as massive as mine!😉

I'm also a 75D or 75DD. And no, I'm not exactly "curvy"—I weigh about 120 lbs. 🤷 Now that I'm pregnant, I've moved up to an 80E. 😉

Listen here, you little brat,

Where on earth are you people picking up trousers? I’m looking for some basic black straight-leg pants... actually, let me rethink that... maybe a larger size...

And joggers?

Oh, and a white shirt as well...

Don't get me wrong, but you ladies rocking those 34DD or 36E sizes—or even bigger—definitely aren't the target audience for "curvy" fashion lines 😍
It’s just about having larger attributes, plain and simple. Honestly, you guys confuse me with all this talk because, personally, I actually struggle finding stuff that fits my fuller shape and larger bust. Brands like Victoria's Secret or Aerie don't cut it for me at all. I've tried a few, and even with their largest sizes, everything just spills out the sides. Aside from maybe some pieces from Lane Bryant (and even then, I'm not thrilled), I seriously don't know of a single brand in the US market that carries a 42DDD or anything in that range. Everything is either designed for old ladies, comes in boring white, black, or nude, or it’s so tight I feel like I'm wearing a corset and gasping for air. And don't even get me started on the cleavage situation where everything just gets squished together instead of the bra actually giving you a nice, shaped silhouette...
Oh, and let's be real: underwires on anything above a 40 band are basically useless, especially if the straps are narrower than an inch.
Bottom line? Whoever decides to actually import high-quality stuff for us would make a fortune. 😍

It's the same story with other clothes in larger sizes too... everything is so limited. Meanwhile, the number of plus-sized people is growing, unfortunately... And from experience, I know that if you're stuck in clothes that are too small or pinching you, you're just going to end up stress-eating—like grabbing a donut just because you're frustrated with how you look—and that's definitely not going to motivate anyone to lose weight. (Though some people might think making things tighter is somehow supposed to motivate us! Yeah, right.)

Wow, I guess I really went on a rant there. ☕
