I also listed some clothing items in sizes 48-54 and put them up on the XXL clothing market. You can see my full inventory right here in my signature 🙂

Does anyone happen to know the name and the exact street number of that big department store over on Market Street?
I remember hearing about it ages ago, but I can't seem to recall any of the specifics...

Can't recall the exact number, but it's just a block away from the Citigroup tower, near the plaza.

I think I finally figured out the name of the place I was actually thinking of—Maxy P. Does anyone happen to know anything about them? Like, what kind of prices are we looking at?

I’m pretty sure that isn't the one you're talking about, though, since Maxy is located over on Market Street at number 36...
I'll definitely go ahead and try to track down the one you mentioned, thanks so much 🙂

Maxy used to carry beautiful stuff—expensive, sure, but high quality. I haven't been there in years, so my intel might be a bit dated.
The only catch was that their selection back then leaned heavily toward middle-aged and older gentlemen—I mostly went there for the women's clothing.

Maxy is still doing alright; my mom actually shops there all the time. It’s definitely on the pricier side, but I think you get what you pay for in terms of quality—at least from what I see with her, those jeans of hers have lasted for years. The only thing is, I feel like they might have closed off that section where they used to carry the everyday stuff and merged it into the high-end boutique area. At least, that was the vibe when I last swung by back in July.

Thanks so much, I’ll definitely be swinging by there soon. I really could use something a bit more formal for once 🙂

Where can I pick up a decent jacket or coat? I spotted a lovely one at Ulla Popken, but $480 paying cash for it? Absolutely not. I’m praying I won't need that much 😬 money for next winter. Ideally, I'm looking for a classic down coat that hits above the knee, maybe something with a belt at the waist in a darker shade, but honestly, I'm open to anything. As long as it looks youthful. And the cheaper, the better.
I need a size 14 or 16—something like that. At least, that's what the Ulla Popken one was, a
size 14/16.

I usually wear a larger size, so I picked up a $167 at Target. They had a huge selection. You can also check out Old Navy. Prices generally start from $117, but if you catch the weekend sales at Old Navy, you can get an even better deal.

So I’m sitting here reading all your posts and honestly, I gotta ask—has anyone checked out Second Shop lately? They’ve got these killer suede leather jackets for only $67, and seriously, the quality is legit. I’ve been eye-balling them for a minute now, but there's one huge catch: they're all small sizes. And you guys know me, I can't stand a tight fit; if the jacket isn't baggy and comfortable, I don't want it. 🤷😉

It’s 36 I Street. I don't recall the exact name—I used to live quite close by—but it's right in that passage, just before you hit the Chase Bank if you're heading in from the downtown plaza area.

So, what kind of prices are we talking about in that store? Like, how much for some pants or a jacket? Is it more like a Target or a H&M type of vibe?

Man, guys,

So, look, for years now—and I mean like, for a really long time—besides my struggle with finding jeans that actually fit, I’ve got this other (okay, let’s be honest, maybe it's more like one 🎉 ) massive headache. I seriously cannot figure out what kind of hat to buy. Every single cap I try on ends up looking like some weird little bottle cap sitting on top of my head because of how my proportions work, you know? It’s just ridiculous. So, anyway—what’s your experience been like? Like, which styles actually work for you without making you look totally absurd?

A fedora? Yeah, no thanks, hard pass.
A wool beanie? My head starts itching immediately because it's too tight, but if I go for a looser one, then my ears start freezing off.
The whole thing is just, I don't know, what model should I even look for? Like, some kind of wool blend, maybe fleece? Or like a chunky knit thing? Who knows??? 🤷

Look, I can't deal with this pitch-black vibe. It’s honestly grating on my nerves.🤷

Should I go with wool, maybe some crochet, or just whatever random stuff is lying around?

Black is just... it’s everything. It goes with absolutely anything. And that shade of black? Totally classic. I tried all those other colors too—tried everything under the sun, honestly—but nothing hits quite like black. It’s the winner. Always.😉

I guess I’ll probably give it a shot the first time I happen to stumble upon a model like that, maybe? 🙂
thnx!

A friend of mine actually made this for me. If you're feeling it, I can hit her up and see what she's charging?😉

You totally can, but I think I’d actually prefer something more like this:

image

I used to wear the one I have in front for a little while, but honestly, it’s just such a pain now because I’m always wearing glasses and I end up getting all blinded by the glare. Don't even ask me how or why, but whenever I throw on a hat, it just clashes with my glasses, and then they start slipping down, so I’m basically spinning in circles trying to fix both at once. And of course, it always happens right when I'm driving. I mean, if I'm just spinning around on the subway it’s whatever, but I’ve realized it gets super awkward sometimes.

So, if you could make it... yeah, I’d really appreciate that. And maybe in like an off-white or dirty white color? Just shoot me a DM with the price. 🎉

edit: See how it looks a bit wider and more comfortable? That’s kind of what I’m going for. I want enough room so my head and hair actually fit inside comfortably. Plus, I need space for my headphones when I'm walking around listening to music.🙂

I totally feel you. I’m rocking glasses too, and honestly? I finally just chopped my hair short because I was done. Seriously, I couldn't deal with the constant upkeep anymore—always fixing it, tucking it under a beanie, and then the second you take the hat off, you look like a cow just licked your head. Total disaster.

So, this wool beanie? A close friend of mine actually made it. I’m gonna give her a shout tomorrow to see what she’s charging for it. Honestly, ever since I started wearing it, I feel like a whole new person. Total game changer.
The brim's actually got a bit more reach forward now, so you don't have to worry about snow gunking up your glasses. Plus, it’s huge—super comfy. It’ll swallow up all your hair easily if it hits your shoulders.😉
