hollowtinker40 said:Honestly, I feel like a whole new person ever since I discovered ASOS and Dorothy Perkins. Their sales numbers? Totally addictive, like I can't help myself. Okay, look, I can't try stuff on beforehand—which is a pain—but I totally make up for that because they offer free shipping and there aren't any crazy customs fees or extra taxes hitting my bank account, you know? Plus, I personally don't even bother looking at anything that costs more than maybe $50 bucks. And if, by some chance, a piece doesn't fit right—like, it's too tight, or way too baggy, or just kind of weirdly shaped, whatever—I just send it back. They either refund the money or I just swap it for a different size.
It’s honestly been such a lifesaver for me.
As for Skechers—they’re fine, I guess, but everything feels so incredibly sporty, you know? Like, not every single model works for me, but that’s definitely the vibe they lean into. With these other sites, though, you can actually find stuff for everything—like, something for a casual day out or even something a bit nicer for the holidays.

hollowtinker40, I spend days just scrolling through those two sites, especially during their clothing sales. When I input a size 6 because I assume that fits based on their descriptions, hardly anything shows up. I haven't found anything yet that I actually *have* to order. I haven't even looked at shoes—like, what sizes do they carry or how do they run? If you order the size you usually wear here, does it actually fit? I wouldn't dare order shoes because, honestly, I can't even squeeze into a US size 10 here.
And yeah, Skechers are mostly sporty, but they have plenty of flats too. I actually own a bunch of their heels, like these:

Maybe, I'm not sure, but I think mine are the darker ones—like, totally dark—and they’re sewn with red thread. There was only one like that among the others which had yellow thread. If yours aren't the same as mine, I might take them if the size is right. Maybe once I lose some weight. 🙄

I mean, personally, I think this stuff is just killer. Honestly, it’s out of stock right now, which is such a bummer, but whatever, it doesn't even matter...

So, I actually picked up a pair of their shoes recently, and I have to say, they are just, like, incredibly comfy. Seriously.

And I grabbed this too:

It's just one of those pieces, you know? It's super easy to wear, really low-maintenance when it comes to washing, and I feel like I could style it in a hundred different ways without it looking boring. Plus, it does a great job of hiding all the parts of my body I'd rather not show off, if you catch my drift.

Really nice stuff, and that price for the white shoes is suuuper. I've been getting emails from Dorothy and Škicam on the site for months now but haven't actually bought anything yet. My cards aren't compatible with online shopping, but I guess I'm heading to the bank in the next few days.

Honestly, what I love most about this stuff is how you can basically throw it into any outfit without looking like you’re trying too hard. It’s like this weird living paradox where nothing is so loud that you couldn't wear it two days in a row, yet it's still striking enough that just pairing one piece with some black jeans makes you look like you actually put effort in, you know? And honestly, from what I've seen, the quality is legit—the clothes and shoes actually hold their shape and don't lose their color after a couple of trips through the wash, which is rare these days.
Once you sign up, they hit you with a discount code for your first order, and then, I guess, it feels like there's always some new promo code floating around every other day. For me, it's been awesome because it saved me from that endless, soul-crushing hunt through those tiny little shops that barely have any decent sizes or styles that don't look totally ridiculous to me...

Thanks for the tip. Glad you could confirm firsthand that the stuff is legit. I'm already getting the emails and codes, just need to sort out a Mastercard or some shopping credit. :-)
I tried ordering a bag from ASOS today and was pretty stoked to see they take Maestro. But once I hit the finish line and got an "order received" message, I ended up with an email saying they don't actually accept Maestro in my country. Well... damn.

I need some help from you all! 🙂

What do you think about these pieces for someone wearing a US size 14? I'm not sure if they'll look too oversized, but I'm especially curious about that first dress. 🤷

The second and last ones are fine. The first one works great, provided your triceps aren't a weak spot.

crimsonviper14 said:If you're a tall girl with long legs, I might have a tip for you. I wear a size 13, which—let’s be honest—makes finding shoes a total nightmare unless I get lucky. For the last few years, I’ve been sticking to Rieker because they were basically the only option in my hometown that actually carried my size. A size 13 from Deichmann? Forget it. They're too narrow and uncomfortable; nothing ever fit right there. But...
Since I discovered Skechers, my life has changed. They’re incredibly comfortable, and a size 12 fits like a glove. I mentioned this in the sales thread recently, but I ended up grabbing nine pairs this past weekend at the mall when the Skechers store was closing down. I snagged five pairs of boots for anywhere between $134 and $77, most of them for about a quarter of the retail price. It’s Wednesday, and I’ve been wearing different pairs to work every single day since; no blisters, no pain, even though it's my first time wearing them. Not to brag, but all the girls at my job are totally jealous that I walked in with five new pairs of stylish, affordable boots. Honestly, they're the only shoes I wear now.
Before this haul, I picked up two pairs at the Skechers in Avenue Mall back in August for 50% off. I am obsessed with this brand, so if you have larger feet, I highly recommend them. I guess their sizing runs bigger because they're an American company, and Americans tend to be built a bit larger than, say, Italians. When I look at an Italian size 12, it feels more like a standard US size 9...

HUMANIC actually has a section dedicated to large sizes. 😉

Personally, I think the first and second options are quite lovely—though the second one is definitely my favorite.

As for the third and fourth, they just aren't really my style at all.

That last one seems pretty decent too.🙂

If you have a defined waist and long legs, then maybe. Personally, I'm a size 12 and none of this is my style.🙂

It’ll look fine as long as you aren't extremely petite.

We are on the same page 🤣.

Ladies, guessing like this is incredibly hard. Not every woman wearing a size 16 has the same body type. Plus, nobody mentioned their height, which matters just as much. Take me, for example. I don't actually look as "heavy" as the scale says I am. I know plenty of women who weigh exactly what I do but look much heavier because of where they carry their weight. It all depends on your build.

Those numbers don't mean a thing 😉

I’ve hovered right around the 138 to 143-pound mark my entire life, standing about 5'8", and even then, I feel like I’m carrying just a tiny bit too much weight

But honestly, my body type is such that absolutely nobody believes me when I talk about those pounds 🤣 and they usually assume I'm just making things up 😁

I don't have a stomach, I don't have wide hips—I just have one of those lucky builds where everything stays balanced. So, whenever I'm dealing with those "weight gain or loss" phases, I find myself ignoring the scale entirely and focusing strictly on the inches, because according to the number on the scale, I'm always stuck in that same middle ground 🙂

And going back to what that girl mentioned earlier regarding these dresses—the most important factor isn't the weight at all, it's really the actual shape of your body 😉

I actually had to get my weight checked by a nurse three separate times because she just didn't believe me. I think that says enough 😂 — about the fact that I'm carrying some extra pounds, but also how she clearly didn't think it was quite that bad.

That’s why I say, when girls ask, "Would this look good on me?" or "Is this flattering?"... it's all just guesswork.

I know it's all just guessing, but at least now you have an idea of my build, so maybe you can give me some advice on these dresses! 😁
I’m about 5'2" and roughly 155 lbs. I have a defined waist and a large bust—which is actually why I'm most worried about that first dress. I'm not too concerned about my lower half, haha! My legs are on the shorter side, but my arms aren't thick or anything. I was also thinking about wearing a bolero over the top. 😁

Thanks, everyone! Please keep the suggestions coming if anyone else has an opinion. 🙂

Anyone standing at 5'2"—whether you're skinny or curvy—should steer clear of midi dresses that hit below the knee. And those calf-length ones? No way! Honestly, even maxi dresses might be a struggle, though they can work if you're careful. In my opinion, the sweet spot is just above the knee or slightly below it. Also, since you're on the shorter side, stay away from super flowy, voluminous styles. They’ll just make you look wider. Stick to something that follows your silhouette, but don't go tight.

Forget the bolero; seriously, just ditch that idea. It feels a bit too "grandma" for what you're going for.😁 🤣

With a pair of high heels, that look turns out absolutely stunning.
