Especially 😍darkbadger88🙂, who offered up that coat. It sounds sweet—if you have it handy, I’d happily take it off your hands for $20 (though I wouldn't touch a smaller size). 😉

I went browsing through some shops yesterday that carry larger sizes, and a US size 14 feels alright. I picked up a layered jacket from Dick's Sporting Goods—the kind where you can zip out the fleece part—so it should handle different temperatures pretty well. I can button it over my chest, and there's still enough room for the bump, though I doubt I'll be able to close it by the very end.
I also grabbed some maternity leggings from them; the waistband is just a drawstring rather than being super tight, so hopefully, I can wear them under the bump for a good while. They actually have a decent selection in size 14.

I ordered some Mamas and Papas maternity jeans on eBay for about $15, so fingers crossed they fit. I also discovered ASOS has a tiny selection of maternity stuff in US size 14, so I grabbed a few long-sleeved dresses with some stretch—just in case 😬—because a little spandex goes a long way.

Now I still need to hunt down maternity support hose. I think the standard ones we have here won't work since they fit me fine when I'm not pregnant. EDIT: Okay, found a shop that carries maternity support hose in larger sizes. They're a bit pricey (free shipping is the only perk, really), so I'll try to find something cheaper before I dive in.

At this point, shirts are my only real issue, but that's the least of my worries. I'll probably just hit up Target for those basic tees in size 14/16 when they have their XXL sales. Does anyone know what the largest size they carry in those basics is?

I hate spending huge amounts of money on things I'll only wear for a few months. Everything I've ordered has been from sales, mostly in the $10-$$50 range, so hey, I'll make it through.

Oh, just remembered something else—where did you guys buy oversized nightgowns for the hospital? Does anyone know if the local markets carry larger sizes?

I saw some dressier blouses and button-downs at Target up to a size 20, so I’m betting they carry the basics too. Plus, H&M has a whole plus-size section now.
Something I only just realized—and honestly, I feel like a bit of an idiot for not catching it sooner—is that if you hit up Target, they have these massive size ranges that are actually incredibly cheap. I recently picked up some casual pants in a size 16 for a steal. $15.

A few little things arrived today, and honestly, I’m pretty happy with them.

I ordered a green and black dress from the Figleaves site—they aren't technically maternity wear, but they work perfectly for pregnancy since there's plenty of room for the bust and belly; they're actually cut for a fuller D+ cup, stretch maternity casual pants (I grabbed an XL and they are huge—definitely sliding around a bit and quite baggy, but they'll be perfect once the bump grows a little more), and some maternity pajama bottoms too.

Everything is great, and the prices were pretty fair. 👍 The sizing runs really large—I went with a US 18 since the dresses aren't maternity—and I probably could have squeezed into a smaller size, but right now I prefer having that extra breathing room so nothing feels tight. 🙂

I also picked up a swimsuit because finding one I actually like in my size is such a nightmare. I found one with a similar cut to something I bought in London a few years back, and I've been hunting for a deal on something like it ever since. Finally stumbled upon this one for $16, so it was a total steal. 🎉 Looks like I'll finally have a new suit for next year!

Still waiting on some jeans from eBay, those two dresses, and some leggings from ASOS. I ordered the non-maternity leggings in a US 18-20; I gave up on the expensive maternity ones, hoping these ASOS ones will be wide enough not to dig into my stomach ($13 the others I tried were such a rip-off per piece that I just couldn't justify it). I'm not worried about the leg width, though—I'm tall, so most of the fabric just gets eaten up by my leg length.

Over at Mango, I picked up a lovely blue cardigan for $20(I ordered a Large despite my growing chest, fearing it might be too small, but it fits just right—really flattering, actually).

Someone mentioned Target earlier, so I swung by and picked up a black and a gray cardigan, similar to this blue one from Mango, in a size 18. I think I'll wear them over some shirts I already own that don't fit quite as well, just to hide my figure a little. 😬

So, there's my new wardrobe. And the best part? I didn't even have to go broke doing it. 🎉

Hey girls! 🙂

Was doing a bit of Googling and scrolling through this thread because my thighs have been chafing like crazy. Finally stumbled onto this topic, though I'm digging up some posts from way back in 2010. I’m a bit more curvy these days, and once summer hits—especially with this heat—I love wearing dresses, skirts, or just a bikini. The issue is my legs rub together and I have zero clue how to fix it. Tried baby powder, but that stuff doesn't hold up at all. Last year I tried cutting up some old tights to wear under my clothes, but they just bunch up, slide around, and end up showing under my skirts anyway since I'm constantly tugging them down.

Looking back at those 2010 posts, it seems like a lot of people used baby oil. Does that actually work? And how long does it last when it gets really hot out? Now that the weather is starting to turn, I know 😬. Also, are there any specific ointments or creams meant for this? I found an English blog where a girl was talking about these specialized creams athletes use to prevent skin friction. Do we have anything similar here in the States? And regarding physical "barriers," where can I find those Bandelettes or those slip shorts you wear under skirts—specifically the shorter ones, since most of my skirts and dresses hit above the knee.

Bodyglide Anti-Chafe Balm😍. I've been using this stuff for years—it’s the only reason I can pull off wearing skirts all day without a second thought. It’s easily the best thing ever.🙏 The protection lasts for hours after you apply it. I keep a massive tub at home, but I also carry the travel size in my purse for quick refills. Honestly, I've only had to reorder it twice in four years, so the stuff lasts forever. I usually grab it on eBay for about $10. Absolute steal—I'm obsessed.👍

Edit: The first time I bought it, I grabbed the version marketed toward women. This time, I did some digging through American blogs and picked up the standard blue stick meant for athletes—it was actually cheaper than the pink "feminine" one.😁 Turns out, they are identical. Same formula, different label.

I deal with something pretty similar during the summer—just under the bust area. I’ve been trying baby powder lately, but honestly, it’s hit or miss. I think I'll go ahead and order what Jonathan Perez88 suggested. Right now, I'm just stuck cycling through all these different baby creams meant for redness and irritation, and it's getting old.

Sweet, thanks a ton! I'll definitely check that out. I figured I could order something like that, but I wanted to see if there was actually anything available at local pharmacies or similar spots here. But yeah, this works too 😁

Does anyone know what the vibe is like in the plus size section at the H&M over at Westgate? I guess I'm wondering if they have any new arrivals in stock lately.

There's something similar at CVS—I read somewhere that girls use that anti-chafing gel on their thighs and swear by it. Basically this:
https://media.meindm.at/asset/dmshop...007960_B_P.jpg

The packaging is a bit small, but I think it's around $15 and lasts a long time. I use it on my feet for friction and blisters, and it's been a great solution for me. 👍

I also noticed the Glide product mentioned above says "anti-blister," so it's meant for blisters too. It should be basically the same thing, or at least very similar, to what you find at CVS.
You might want to grab that one locally just to test it out—it's cheap enough that it's worth a shot. 😉

Interesting. I’ll definitely give that a shot before ordering this stuff. $5.00It's not much, and the label says it's anti-chafe, so let's see if it actually works.

Hey ladies,
does anyone know where I can pick up some boots with an XL width—or just anything for wide feet—around here in the States? Thanks.

I actually spotted some yesterday—Ulla Popken over at the Avenue Mall had some seriously wide options...

Hey ladies. 🙂

Where do you guys pick up your underwear (mostly looking for thongs and boyshorts—basic cotton stuff, but lace and whatever else too 😍), without it costing an absolute fortune? Like, actually reasonable prices. To be honest, I haven't really bothered looking through the usual big-box stores lately, so if they have anything decent at H&M or somewhere similar, let me know. 🙂

I'm usually a size 12, maybe a 14 depending on how the cut is.

I often find some really pretty pairs at the Victoria's Secret outlet for a decent price (like $6.25). When I see those fancier lace ones at good prices, they're usually from there. 😍

As for the basics, I'm a fan of high-waisted styles, so I was pretty stoked when I saw a 5-pack on Target for $17 a couple of months back. I also grabbed a few of those $2 pairs—they're perfectly fine for everyday wear, honestly. Way better than the stuff from Walmart that seems to fall apart the second you wash it.

Does anyone know where I can find a sports bra with a bit more room for fastening? It’s been a total nightmare lately trying to track one down, and I really need to grab a new one soon.

That outlet isn't even in a major city like Chicago, it's just out in some tiny suburb? 😢

C&A and M&S
They’ve got great underwear for pretty much any budget—and they actually carry up to size 52-54, too.
Specifically at M&S, you can grab 5-packs of thongs for $6.75.
Cotton, soft, and they actually hold up—perfect.
Bras are just as good, though—they're pricier, obviously.

I’ve been picking up my stuff from Macy's for a few years now—they're decent. A little while back this summer, I stumbled upon a pop-up stand at the farmers market selling panties; grabbed a couple to test them out, and ended up coming back for more because they're actually great 👍. They hold up in the wash, the coverage is deep, and they're comfortable. Honestly, I'm satisfied. They're about $3
