Hey there,

Can anyone recommend a shop in the LA area—or somewhere nearby—where I can pick up some high-quality judo gear?

I’m looking to grab a gi, but I actually just need the jacket part—does anyone know if you can buy those separately, or am I stuck buying the full set?

I had my eye on Mizuno since they're basically the gold standard for quality, but let's be real, they're pretty pricey too... so they might not be my first choice right away :-D

Thanks!

Forget about Mizuno unless you're a pro... those kimonos are just sold online through $500. Just grab some Adidas, Tree Hill, or whatever for $400-$$233 at places like
.

Hey everyone. I was wondering what kind of martial arts options are available to train in the San Diego area?

Hey there!
I’ve been thinking about what kind of martial art actually works when you're stuck in a tight spot and need to defend yourself.
Are we talking Krav Maga, Aikido, or maybe something else entirely?

Also, I was wondering if anyone knows of any decent gyms in NYC where the monthly dues aren't going to absolutely wreck my bank account?$100 Looking for something reasonably cheap.

You should totally come check us out—we've got a Krav Maga club over in the West Side area, near Pavilion 25. Membership is just $83. Just shoot a message to the user KravMagaZG for all the specifics—he's the one running the show.

Krav Maga is a solid choice to start with.
Aikido isn't really it if you're looking for pure self-defense.

Hey everyone! Quick question—does anyone know if there are any good heavy bags for sale around here? Or better yet, does anybody happen to have a freestanding one lying around? Ideally, I’m looking for something sturdy enough to really hammer some low kicks into. Any leads?

I was wondering if anyone might happen to know whether there’s an actual Wing Chun club operating anywhere in the Midwest?

SkrillexNo1 said:I finally realized this site is for people wanting to learn martial arts. I'm 16 and I want to start training MMA. I hit the gym regularly, so I've got the strength and the drive, I just need to figure out where to actually begin.

There’s a place called Trojan over in Pensacola. They run a really solid club there.

Here, a little something.

Those prices aren't exactly great for three times a week.

Standard rates for martial arts and stuff—nothing crazy...

Maybe just stick to Wing Chun then. It's probably better for you than MMA anyway, and honestly, it'll cost you more...😬

That's just $6.75 per session. Not actually that pricey.

Ask Daniel Garcia how much he spends on cigarettes a week 😁

The most I could set aside is about $83 per month. I want to train recreationally, but I also want to actually learn something because MMA genuinely interests me. I’m a total beginner when it comes to combat sports—I'm 26, but the drive is there. Since I prefer stand-up, wrestling, and takedown techniques, can you recommend an MMA gym in the area that focuses more on those aspects rather than just ground fighting?

Why you scared I might end up pinning some guy to the mat in sparring? :P

MMA covers everything, just deal with it. If you hate ground work that much, go hit a Muay Thai class instead.

Yeah, it’s exhausting 😁 but I’ll pull myself together somehow.

To be fair, I am interested in MMA, so let's roll with it. Anyone have recommendations for a decent club in NYC?

You know any decent clubs over in Dubrava or maybe near Lanište?
Where are you based?
