So, I finally decided to sign up for this forum just to toss this question out there. I know, I know—I’m totally aware there are probably two or three similar threads floating around already, but those are ancient history, right? One is from 2005 and the other’s from 2009, so they're basically fossils at this point.
Here’s the deal: I’ve got a big celebration coming up in about a month, and I really don't want to be that crazy person who tries to shove a bunch of inflated balloons into my friends' cars after picking them up at a party store, you know? Honestly, the whole idea of hauling helium around has me feeling a little overwhelmed. So, here’s the situation I'm dealing with:
I actually spotted this cute little kit meant for 30 latex balloons... and yeah, okay, I'll admit the price is like four times what you'd pay back home in the States, but hey, whatever, right? http://www.euro-balloon.com/shop/hr/...15&idProd=1565
-I gave them a call, but they told me they're totally out of stock and have no clue when they'll get more in.
Then I tried calling these guys: http://www.balon-centar.com/hrv/inde...=helij&s=helij , and they mentioned that the smallest option is just a single tank of helium $150 plus a rental fee for the canister.
Dominion Balloons () told me that a 50-liter tank would run me $333 plus an extra $1667 for the rental 😳.
I haven't reached out to Messer Gases yet, but does anyone know if they even deal in small quantities of helium, or do they only do the massive industrial stuff?
So, there are two things I'm really scratching my head over: 1.) Why does that first link—the one for the 30-balloon kit—say on the international sites that it holds 8.9 cubic feet ($150http://www.balloontime.com/display.p...products_30kit), which according to Google's calculator is about 250 liters? If that's true, why are the 20-liter tanks being sold for the same price, while the 50-liter ones cost double? It makes zero sense to me, so can someone please explain it to me, kind soul? (They also claim the 20-liter one can fill about 100 balloons!)
2.) Is there anywhere else in the country besides Euro-Balloon where I can pick up these little party kits? Or honestly, what would be my absolute best move here? I was reading online that if you fill them too early—which would definitely happen if I went to a local shop in a suburb or a big city center—it doesn't work out well because they deflate so fast.
I know I'm rambling and probably being a total pest about balloons, but I just really want everything to be perfect! 😍
Thanks a million.
