There was one specific pair that stretched out on me immediately, but apparently, every other girl who bought that exact model had the same issue...

I’ve tried Replay jeans before, too, but they just didn't wow me.

Just wander around downtown for a bit, you'll definitely find something...

Check out Diesel, Hilfiger, Miss Selfridge, that little boutique over by the old department store, or maybe Jeg* over on the main strip...

I think I was one of your early customers too. They stretched out on me right away, so I had to constantly keep an eye on them just to make sure they still looked decent. But once I moved on and picked up a few more pairs, I realized those first ones were actually top-tier! 👍 Honestly, I’m with you there—98% cotton and 2% elastane is pretty much the sweet spot for me.

I used to shop at Replay, but since they went absolutely nuts with their pricing, I give them a wide berth. My last three pairs came from LTB and honestly, I’m loving it. They have a huge variety of styles, none of them have stretched out on me yet, and the prices are actually reasonable—around $167 for most, and some models are even as low as $133!

LTB - Little Big boutiques. You can find them at Importane, downtown, or right in the city center—feel free to add any I missed! It’s actually a Turkish brand, but honestly, they’ve been great in my experience.

You can find them at the High Club on Jurišićeva or over at King Cross. Also, there’s a dedicated CK store open now on Frankopanska—right where the H. Club used to be. Not sure about the quality, but prices are sitting around $1000-$400 (for guys, at least).

Jeans without any stretch aren't as comfy, but they definitely won't lose their shape. I'd suggest checking out: Lee or Wrangler.

I own some LTB jeans myself. They're solid.🙂

I need some advice from anyone who actually knows their way around denim shops—and better yet, people who know their raw denim.
I really want to buy a pair of high-quality jeans just once in my life... my criteria are pretty specific: I don't want them to sag the second I wear them so I don't end up looking 10 pounds heavier, they shouldn't be so thin that they highlight every single imperfection, and I want a tougher fabric that flattens things out a bit and maybe a slimmer cut.
To all my fellow shopaholics out there, tell me where I should start looking!!!
Thanks in advance🙂

p.s. Are 100% cotton jeans actually better, or are blends with elastane better or worse?

If you're tall, a slim or carrot cut will work for you. But if you aren't, don't bother; it'll only make your legs look shorter.😉

Alright, here’s my take on various denim brands 😉
Levi's was actually my very first pair. I had the 525 model—wore them for a solid six years until they finally gave up the ghost after way too many washes. I eventually went back and grabbed another pair of 525s, but honestly? They weren't even half as good as the originals. I tried a couple of other brands too, but they were just awful—after two or three washes, they lost all their shape and just sagged everywhere. These days, I steer clear of them whenever I'm shopping for jeans.

No Limit is definitely one of my favorites. They don't stretch out, they don't shrink, and they aren't breaking the bank either. But ever since they stopped carrying them at that Importante boutique (and ugh, I really can't face driving all the way downtown lately), I haven't really kept up with what else they have in stock...

Top Shop 👎—when I first bought these, I was over the moon because I'd finally found jeans that didn't need hemming. But then, after maybe two or three months of wearing them, they started shrinking. Now they're way, way too short, so they're just sitting in my closet gathering dust.

I have a pair from LTB. No stretch at all. I wouldn't say they stretched out excessively, but I don't find myself reaching for them that often, even though I still like them.

Back in my first month [of living here/shopping], I picked up some jeans from H&M. Given the price point, they were a total steal, but since I've lost a little weight recently, I don't wear them anymore.

The last ones I bought were Mustang. They have 2% spandex, but if I wear them for even two days, they stretch out and hang off me. Washing them is basically the only way to fix them. I might have had a better experience if the sales clerk hadn't pushed a pair on me that had this weird, unremovable stain on the inside—though, okay, partly my fault for rushing through the purchase without checking for flaws first.

I haven't even touched Diesel yet, let alone bought a pair. It's either the sales staff acting like they're selling holy relics because the price tag is $333, or everything is just way too flashy for my taste. Wrangler is pretty cute, though; I think I'll give them a shot next time I'm shopping. Actually, I'm most curious about Jeepers, but man, you need serious cash for those... 😳

As far as specific styles go, I don't think there's such a thing as a "universal" fit. I think different body types should probably avoid certain cuts altogether. Someone mentioned earlier that skinny jeans only look good on tall girls—well, I'm about 5'3", and I don't think they look any worse on me than they would on someone who's 5'9". You just have to try on every single style until you hit that perfect match...

Sean Richardson9 said:Hey, I was wondering—how much does it cost to switch from a trapezoid shape to a flat one?

Yeah, honestly, if anything I buy isn't a straight cut, I take it straight to the tailor. Those silhouettes are just better—they fit every body type perfectly. As for the price? I’d guess maybe $5 or $6 if my math isn't totally off. I usually go to the local dry cleaners downtown, and they’ve never let me down once.

🙂 I’m hoping nobody takes offense if I offer up two pairs of jeans from my closet for a little cash 😁
Two styles—straight leg and a slightly wider fit at the bottom
... the thing is, they’re just sitting in my closet gathering dust. They were either too long or too tight for me, so naturally, I didn't get much use out of them—maybe eight times tops 🙂...

Honestly, I have a soft spot for No Limit. They don't stretch out, they don't shrink in the wash, and they aren't breaking the bank, but

I’ve got a pair of No Limits myself and they hold up fine. On another note, those Flash ones—though I think you can only find them down in Miami—are top-tier; I actually own a few pairs.
Anyway, the Mustangs were the last thing I picked up, and yeah, I noticed they lose their shape a bit. It’s not a disaster, but I can see it on my thighs, and I absolutely hate that. I just can't stand it when my jeans don't fit right around my legs.
Mine are from Topshop—but honestly, the skinny ones are great. They stretch a little, but you can't really tell. Only I notice when I'm getting dressed—having to suck in my stomach just to get them buttoned up and all that. 😁

Anyone here have experience with sneakers from New Yorker?
Looking for some lightweight kicks for the summer. A friend mentioned they carry them there and the prices are decent, but I'm not looking to throw money away if they're going to fall apart in a week.

I actually picked up a pair from New Yorker recently. I found a really solid model—100% cotton, no stretch involved—and so far, they seem just as durable as any other brand I've owned.
For me, the Replay jeans were the ones that lost their shape the fastest, probably because the fabric was just too thin. It was honestly a bit of a shock... Since then, I’ve stopped believing that a higher price tag always guarantees better quality.

That’s why I’m asking. I’m looking for some thin sneakers. I know they aren't exactly pricey over there, but honestly, I just don't want them falling apart after a few wears.
thanx!

Hey there!
I’ve been lurking here and reading through your posts for a while now, so I figured it was finally time to jump in and share my own take on jeans. Last year, I decided to pull the trigger on a pair of higher-end denim just to see if the premium price tag actually translates to better quality. I ended up going with Levi's. I tried out three different styles, and honestly, all three fit me like a glove. Once I picked my favorite, they cost me about $110, and looking back, I don't regret it one bit. Even after wearing them constantly for a full year, they look exactly the same as the day I bought them—they haven't stretched out or lost their shape at all. So, whenever I'm back in shopping mode, you can bet I'm heading straight back to Levi's!

Where did you pick those up?
I've got a pair of Guess jeans myself, and honestly, the quality is top-notch—just like Lee. I couldn't be happier with them.

I picked them up over on Draškovićeva Street—the shop was called Jes, though I might have gotten the name slightly wrong... they actually have a location in the City Center now.

The question is right there in the title... I'm honestly just curious to dig into the how, the what, and the why behind all of this...
