The "internal" goal is to accept that psychosis exists and will recur, perhaps even more frequently according to those clinical assessments. Cherish the periods of stability and view the crises as a standard part of his condition. Stop hoping your father will ever change his mind. His fault lies with him, and knowing that should be enough. Adjust your expectations to protect yourself from further disappointment.

I'm feeling a little better today... I've spent a lot of time reflecting on everything and realized one simple thing: I CANNOT LISTEN TO them!!!!

Back when Barbie was doing well, they were arguing he needed to be released.

Now that he's struggling—suddenly they're demanding he goes back out again.

They simply refuse to accept the reality that he is currently in the only place where he can actually get help.

I need to get this off my chest.

While going through Barb's things, I found a small booklet containing some USD... let's be clear—the amount is LESS than $0.67, but it's just enough to cover his medical bills for the month.

I somehow managed to get 🙄 from the social services office, authorizing me not to withdraw the cash, but to deposit that poor man's funds directly toward his treatment before I head to the bank.

They assigned me a personal teller, 😍, who isn't exactly thrilled about the situation, but she's looking through all the paperwork and remembering that poor, struggling man; she was actually quite sincere in how much she pitied his condition.

She tells me I should go grab a coffee or take a walk while she handles everything, but I'm just standing there wondering: how long on earth does it take to process one single withdrawal, one deposit, and one transfer? 😕

She tries to tell me there's some massive bureaucratic hurdle because it’s an old offshore savings account that requires releasing the funds 🙄

So I joke with >, asking if we're going to have to go to war or fight some epic battle just to get it... you know, "liberating" the cash... but she just brushes it off, saying it's nothing, just two extra forms to sign... tells me not to worry about it at all...

And just like that, I walk out of the bank feeling pretty satisfied with myself.

I’ll be back in about twenty or twenty-five minutes; I need to give my personal banker enough time to get everything squared away while she’s out.

They told me to grab a seat and wait, so I did...

About fifteen minutes pass before she shows up, trying to explain some "problem" to me... I can't make heads or tails of what she's saying, nor do I care to. All I want is to use my barber's funds to settle his bill...

Suddenly, I realize she's staring right over my shoulder.

I turned around, and descending the escalator was the largest, heaviest woman I have ever laid eyes on in my entire life.😲

Ice-blue eyes, that specific hairstyle, and hair color just like Kosorica—but then you see the chin fused right into her chest and belly... and those arms held out like she’s ready for takeoff because she can't even bring them down to her sides.

So, she walks right up to me and asks the teller for my bank statement without even glancing my way—is that really her?

My blood pressure is already spiking... I actually had the nerve to say, "I'm the one calling the shots here, how about you?" I should have been a bit more polite and introduced myself as [Surname], the attorney for that bank.

I started roughly this kind of monologue.

As an employee of this bank, my primary duty is protecting our clients' interests. I am certain that this gentleman—I didn't even catch his last name—simply wants to ensure his old savings account remains exactly as it is: untouched.

People, if I haven't lost my mind completely... she’s actually going to lecture ME about his interests? ME? Does she even have a clue where their client is located right now? Has she bothered to look at a single one of the files I dropped off, aside from that precious little savings passbook they hold like it's some kind of holy relic? $667?????????????????????

I asked her if she wanted to check on their client and have a word with him, and honestly? It’s going to be one hell of a freaking release. $667 ??????????????????

My personal banker just sat there with her hand over her eyes the whole time... she looked completely paralyzed, caught somewhere between wanting to laugh and wanting to cry.

I actually felt a little bad for the woman—it seemed awkward even for her. She mumbled something about how maybe she hadn't looked closely enough at the situation... meanwhile, the other tellers were just peeking out from behind their counters, smirking at the whole thing.

At this point, it was already 5 PM and there wasn't much left to be done. The manager tried to beg me to come back in later this morning, but I basically told her to take a hike. I slammed my passbook down on the desk, told them to process the deposit however they see fit, and said I'd swing by on Monday to sign the paperwork.

They promised they’d give me a call once it's done and fax over the proof of payment to the hospital...

I just reminded them that if they're going to act so professional, they could at least issue a receipt for the passbook I handed over.😈😈😈

Honestly, people, I’m not even surprised when someone decides to give them a little bit of grief...

Or maybe I just spend too much time hanging out with sane people over at the local diner.😁

Honestly, we all lose our minds eventually when we run into those absolute morons who suddenly think they're hot stuff just because they have a shred of authority. I nearly went scorched earth yesterday on this total monster who had the nerve to bark at me just because I asked to switch my primary care physician... Seriously. Dealing with idiots is basically just part of the American experience.
