And if we're talking about Cuban women... well, Clinton handled that situation pretty smoothly.🙄 😉 😁

Gold, silver, costume jewelry—even plastic—it all triggers my allergies...
I can’t handle basically any accessories; the only thing I can manage are plastic swatch cards, and even those don't last a full day before things go south. Even glasses are a gamble—only pure plastic works, and the nose pads absolutely cannot have any metal components. It extends to shoes, too—nothing with a metal buckle.😢 If I wear anything at all, I break out in hives, swell up, and end up at the ER for an injection.
My mom deals with the exact same thing—she tried getting a piercing twice over several years, and both times were absolute disasters.😢
That’s why I haven’t even bothered trying; maybe I’ll feel braver in a few years.😁
I suppose that’s just how I was blessed to compensate.😁

So Justin Gonzalez87, if someone’s trying to kill you (God forbid), they don't even need to shoot you, just pin you down, right?

😢

Allergies are a total joke. I seriously almost died twice like a complete idiot, just from some stupid bug bite. 😢

Good grief—how far off the rails can one person get?😁 😁

Are you taking orders here? If so, I’ll take a copy of Nature—though honestly, Science works just fine too. 😁 )

I mean, I’m definitely not actually reading it, but I’m making enough room to let it happen. 😁

The second you post it, I’m reading it!!! 😎

Chloe Nguyen3 said:I have a question: why don't women who have already given birth use the IUD? I’m genuinely curious, so if anyone actually knows their stuff, weigh in. Also, why can't women who haven't had kids yet—but plan to—use an IUD? And what's the deal with diaphragms?🙏 🙏

Is there any reason my response shouldn't be considered valid? 😉

I used an IUD from age 21 until 24. I had it removed once I decided to have a child. So, essentially, I put it in BEFORE I gave birth.

One gynecologist refused to write me a prescription, so I went to a different doctor instead. There isn't any objective medical reason why I shouldn't be able to use an IUD before giving birth. I actually bought one myself—using a prescription from abroad—because back when we were part of the old America, that kind of device just wasn't available to us.

Exactly one year after giving birth, I went back and got my IUD put in again.

About two and a half years ago, I started taking birth control due to some hormonal issues—specifically PCOS, irregular cycles, and the severe anemia that came along with them. It was pretty foolish of me to be using both that and an IUD at the same time, so I went ahead and had the IUD removed.

I’m hitting that age where I have to start watching for perimenopause symptoms. I'm going to stick with Cilest to make sure I don't actually feel them.

As for that diaphragm gel, I’d never want it unless it was absolutely necessary. Same goes for all those vaginal foams, creams, and whatever other extra nonsense they sell. I can't stand all that prep work during sex—it’s tedious—and frankly, I wouldn't feel secure using them anyway.

(like Yaz, Loestrin, or Sprintec)
Are you guys aware that there's an increased risk for blood clots, strokes, or even heart attacks? Plus, it can really drain your levels of--well, zinc, folic acid, vitamin C, E, and those B vitamins—which might explain why some people feel so moody or depressed while on them.
😲 😲 😲

I wasn't sure if anyone knew... so...
just wanted to give you a heads-up.

It’d probably be a good move to grab some vitamin and mineral supplements.

Thanks for the heads-up.

I used a hormone patch, but honestly, the side effects felt exactly the same.

The clot thing makes sense, and let's be real—so many women deal with cellulite because of hormonal contraceptives too.

I take a multivitamin and try to eat clean, but at the end of the day, I still think using this stuff is better than having no protection at all.

Maybe just save that one cigarette for later and try cutting back on the others throughout the day🙂

I agree that you need to kick the habit (honestly, sometimes it feels like doing it sooner rather than later is best), but spending your youth constantly hungover isn't exactly a great look for the future...

Kenneth Hernandez67 said:Look, what you said isn't exactly the order I'm responding to. 😉

I used an IUD from when I was 21 until I was 24. I had it taken out once I decided I didn't want kids. So yeah, I got it put in BEFORE I ever gave birth.

One OBGYN wouldn't even write me a prescription, so I just went to a different doctor. Honestly, there’s zero medical reason why you couldn't use an intrauterine device—an IUD—before having a baby. I ended up buying one with a prescription while traveling abroad, since that specific type wasn't even available back in the old days.

Then, about a year after my first kid, I went ahead and got the IUD put back in.

But then, like two and a half years ago, everything went sideways with some hormonal issues—PCOS, crazy cycles, and heavy anemia—so I started taking birth control pills. It felt stupid to have both the pill and the IUD at the same time, so I just had the thing removed.

Since I’m hitting that age where I’m starting to notice perimenopause symptoms, I’m gonna stick with the pills so I don't feel like crap.

As for diaphragms? No way. I'd only ever use one if I absolutely had to. Same goes for all those vaginal foams, creams, and whatever else is out there. I honestly hate all that prep work during sex, and besides, I wouldn't even feel safe using them.

It feels like nothing has changed since the old system; doctors are still being just as clueless about IUDs today. When I first decided I wanted some long-term protection, I asked my doctor about getting an IUD, and I got this incredibly stupid response: "That's not for you, you're too young, you haven't had kids yet; IUDs are for women who have already given birth and, in the best-case scenario, aren't planning on having more." Well, great. Just like before, I'm left feeling completely unheard.

You mentioned you had one before pregnancy and were fine, and I honestly think the same would've applied to me. Next time, I'm definitely seeing a private specialist. My local clinic doctor—at least the one I saw—doesn't seem to have the will or the time to actually explain how an IUD works, why it's okay, or why it isn't.
Ever since I started these pills, I've been stuck in this constant state of depression and mood swings. This isn't me. My life hasn't changed, my surroundings are the same, but everything just feels wrong. I'm pretty sure I'll be off them very soon, but I need to find something just as reliable as the pills.
Stop having sex😉. Six months isn't that long, right?🙄 I guess we'll see.

I can't stand condoms. It feels like putting a straightjacket on him😁. It's just not it. (I really wish there was an emoji for being trapped inside a giant condom here)😉

Who says they aren't allowed to use them?
Well, here I am. Still alive, unfortunately. 😉

Can't get a Purkinje cell to work because the matrix just isn't spread out enough.
And the diaphragm is just a living nightmare. Honestly, who would ever choose to smoke a normal cigarette if they had to deal with this?

Here she goes again... like I didn't already mention I had this issue before giving birth. And it’s not just that—my OB-GYN explicitly told me my uterus is underdeveloped and tilted.

That’s just a gynecologist's perspective. They're obsessed with it because, at the end of the day, it's an invasive object—higher risk of infection, blah blah blah...

Kenneth Hernandez67 says:
my gynecologist told me I have an underdeveloped and retroverted uterus.

Mine too—the doc said mine is basically turned backward (I guess that’s what it means), and she warned me it’d be a struggle to even conceive. She also mentioned I'd probably deal with nasty pains during early pregnancy, needing meds just to get through it, and that labor would be a total nightmare. Honestly, the woman just completely floored me. Hey Kenneth, can you tell me more about this or maybe point me toward a site where I can read up on it? I don't actually know the medical term for it, so I have no clue what to search for. Help me out, please!

🙏

Yeah, that’s exactly how it goes. Completely overwhelmed—just turned upside down.

They gave me the exact same speech when I went in to have the IUD removed because I decided against getting pregnant. I was absolutely devastated.😢

What can I say? Just two months after all that, I ended up conceiving Junior.🙂

And look, it’s what it is—for the first three or four months, I dealt with intense pain until the weight of the baby finally "settled" my uterus back into its proper position.

During labor, I actually suffered a cervical tear, though the doctors told me that can happen even to women with fully developed uteri.

Regarding a resource, the best site I found was from the Harni Clinic. I don't have the direct link handy, but if you type it into a search engine, you'll find it.

It's very professional and easy to follow.

Thanks Kenneth Hernandez67🙏
I checked out their site: www.harni-clinic.com and honestly, it’s top-tier. I spent way too much time scrolling through their forum, and all I can say is it's legit—Mrs. Harni answers everything with these super detailed, easy-to-understand explanations (perfect for us mere mortals). They’ve got tons of threads, and the whole thing is actually really educational and interesting to dive into!👍
