Jesus, what is he doing, how does he make a living, where does he find the time? Now we're checking his degree? It's not like he's some high-profile celebrity whose blood type needs auditing. You guys are clearly obsessed with Gaćeša.
And I know exactly why.
Because he’s playing the martyr—playing the victim for his son, himself, and his family—to pull at those same emotional heartstrings that the COVID cultists think they own exclusively.
And it's working on a lot of people.

If he finished middle school, he's more than qualified to teach his kid.

I’m guessing you finished Elementary School too, given how illiterate you sound.
Stop trying to lecture kids on American English.

I guess he was lucky enough to have those decent performances before starting elementary school, which might just be enough to keep him on track for the entire school year, maybe.🙂

Basically, this means his kid will have to take retake exams for every single subject. If he fails just one—boom—he fails the whole grade. Let's see if he still acts like a tough guy then.

And even if he somehow scrapes by and enrolls in high school, the principal is probably just gonna tell him that high school isn't mandatory and show him the door.

In Canada, they’ve got first graders wearing masks constantly, swapping them out every single hour—meaning those kids are burning through four or five masks just to get through a school day.

So yeah, maybe just keep it quiet.

Even so, I graduated with top marks, went through various schools and universities, and I don't feel even remotely deprived in terms of general knowledge. Quite the opposite, actually.
So yes, allow me to suggest that cramming massive amounts of material into students and constantly testing them on such an overwhelming curriculum is, indeed, exploitation—especially for those younger kids in Elementary School.
In our local school district, children aren't usually suffering from trauma caused by the Corona pandemic; rather, they are traumatized by this "school for life" concept, the latest invention of our educational system.
They are constantly falling ill, vomiting, and so on.
The teachers claim it's just a virus.
The parents say it's school-induced stress and an overly demanding curriculum.

Oh, there are solutions, believe me. But I won't go too far off-topic; there's no point in rambling here.

Overloaded? Don't make me laugh; the curriculum is so watered down it's actually embarrassing.

It’s all laid out on paper, but good luck actually making it work in the real world.

later

Nah, if a student is stuck at home, I'm the one grabbing the stuff we did in class myself. I'm done having the teacher play secretary and printing out materials for me. If you aren't there, you deal with it. That's just how it works at my local high school.

Do you actually work in a school or something?

Amanda Diaz said:Sure, they should have consulted a lawyer first and framed this more intelligently. The kid should have shown up to Elementary School every single morning without a mask and demanded a written notice if they intended to send him home. If they tried to kick him out, the principal and the school would be facing a lawsuit because attending school is a right under US Law.

I’ve seen cases where students hit teachers and the harshest punishment they got was just being transferred to a different school.

If anyone reading this actually knows the kid, this is exactly how he needs to handle it.

I couldn't agree more.
They desperately need legal counsel, especially now after that handshake deal involving the Children's Ombudsman, who is basically hiding behind recommendations from the Department and the CDC.

I honestly didn't know, since I don't really follow the regulars here; I have much more important things to deal with in my actual life, so I only drop by when I've got nothing better to do.

But if you thought you sounded like some frustrated professor, well, you definitely did.

I'm far from frustrated. Just a little tired.

He could take that "attitude" to a whole new level. Maybe request asylum in Sweden, since they wouldn't dream of violating a child's rights like this.

https://www.unicef.org/us/what-we-do/child-rights
The rights outlined in the Convention on the Rights of the Child are built upon four core principles:

Children must be protected from discrimination "regardless of race, color, sex, language, religion, political or other opinion, national, ethnic or social origin, property, disability, birth or other status of the child, their parents, or their legal guardians."

Children have the right to life and development in all aspects, including physical, emotional, psychosocial, cognitive, social, and cultural growth.

In all decisions or actions affecting a child or group of children, the best interests of the child must be the primary consideration. This applies to decisions made by government, administrative, or legislative bodies, as well as those made by families.

Children must be allowed to participate actively in all matters affecting their lives and granted the freedom to express their views. They have the right to voice their perspectives, which must be taken seriously.

Has anyone actually heard the Ombudsman or any NGO say anything remotely intelligent about this?

People in Sweden don't even know what a mask is, so what's the relevance? My point was about why certain schools are forcing masks onto young kids, which goes directly against the Department's guidelines and recommendations.

The Ombudsman simply followed orders because she’s busy protecting her own job. They aren't exactly in the business of deep-diving into international conventions or making meaningful decisions based on them right now, are they?

Can we please just stop all this constant bickering over whether attending elementary school should be mandatory?

Just because school is mandatory doesn't mean there isn't a specific set of rules and expectations governing how a student actually conducts themselves while they're on campus.

It feels like he’s living under someone else's thumb, constantly navigating a rigid schedule dictated by others, following strict house rules, and trying to make sense of dozens of different regulations they expect him to follow at his elementary school.

Attending school is a fundamental part of growing up, much like how following the rules of the road keeps everyone safe during a long drive; you have to respect the established guidelines and conduct yourself according to the standards set by the institution.

It would be quite something if he hit that famous fifteen-year mark right in the middle of the school year, just so they could kick him out of middle school without even receiving his eighth-grade diploma. Then, Dad can spend his evenings trying to force his own ideas on him instead.

Pardon me, but I think Captain Underpants is actually running the local bike shop now.
So, I suppose you could say he’s got all the necessary educational credentials handled.👍
Best of luck, Nikola!

Congrats, I rarely hear such stupidity even on this subforum.

Obviously, a child's age has nothing to do with the legal requirement to attend Elementary School. By your logic, every single student repeating a grade would be kicked out of school the second they turned 15.

EVERYONE who turns 15 loses their right to attend Elementary School

In that group, it's mostly usually Rom

I had the same thought when the local authorities announced those special education measures and child separation... if parents held them back from first grade because they weren't ready, then technically that kid doesn't have to stay in a mainstream public school anymore. They could just go to an alternative program. It's high time he stops disrupting everyone else's learning.

If I were a parent with a kid in a school where someone acts out like this—with police and news crews showing up every single day—I’d be filing a lawsuit against those troublemakers for interfering with my child's right to a normal education.
He should just head over to a city like Phoenix or wherever the mayor lifted the mask mandates.

Correction.
They lose the right to attend regular classes. They can still finish up via correspondence courses.
